Hi Keanon. Great video, thank you! I've been torn between the Valor VBOB and the Dan Wesson EDP. However, I think I'm going to order the VBOB. The better sights, slightly heavier weight, and other features make it more appealing to me. P.S. I live in Washington State, where the legislature recently reduced our carry options to 10 rounds or less, so I expect to see a resurgence of 1911-type guns here -- at least among those of us who still respect the law.
@williamhughes1067 That sucks. Well at least there are 1911s as options for capacity restrictions. The VBOB is a great choice. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
I have the DW Valkyrie in 9mm, Specialist in 45ACP, and an Ed Brown. I use nothing but Wilson Combat mags. Chip McCormack mags are now owned by Wilson Combat. I am just about to order another Ed Brown Kobra Carry with the bobtail-45ACP. Good video!
I have the older version in the black “Duty” finish in 9mm and have been super happy with it. It’s my first Dan Wesson and I’m impressed with the quality for the price it rivals a lot of custom guns
@murfrirhke4557 I have a first gen Valor as well. I think the improvement is the trigger. Pleasant to shoot. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
As is normally the case when a company refreshes a design, I end up wanting a little of the old and a little of the new, which just makes me think I can't get what I really want. There's a fancy marketing term for this, which I've forgotten, where a company introduces too many options, causing the customer to go to another brand or series. Good video. Subscribed.
Happy Birthday! What a great present to yourself. Love Dan Wesson 1911's! Enjoy!! I really like the sights on your new Valor and upgrading all of my pistols with the orange dot and blacked out rear sights.
Thanks for the great video. Not sure if you can answer this but do you know if the magazines for a government sized Specialist are interchangeable with the V-bob?
@Sanfedista13 The magazines are the same, don't let the shape of the bob full you. I used Wilson Combat magazines etc in all 1911s bobbed or not. Will do a video, been asked that before. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it! 👍
I believe checkmate makes the Dan Wesson branded magazines and also makes the mags for Ruger and Sig . If you look at the followers in all those mags they all have the same patent number and same basepads. I have the new Valor in full size regular version and the magazines that came with it are identical to Ruger and Sig magazines
@Wonky Donkey Yes Checkmate makes the VBOB magazines. They have the knight horse logo on the bottom of it with the company name. I don't know about Sig or Ruger. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it! 👍
@Bill Hershberger Holster fit with the Kimber Pro is fine. The "Pro" in Kimber means it's the standard Commader size model in 1911s. So anything that says Commander size will fit. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
@@gearbarrel6237 I've been lucky so far. I don't know if they've done something in their processing to correct it or not. I know at least two UA-camrs who've shown it on camera. Keeping my 🤞
@Naji Osman Thank you! Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the Kodiak, I haven't seen one in my area for quite some time. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
Well that's a heck of a nice birthday present , I've yet to get my Dan Wesson , but I've get goodies , I'll just never have enough. Save me some cake and ice cream. Stay Strong 💪🙏🇺🇸 Always
@Da Road kill I prefer the 4 inch models because it's better for carry in my opinion. So far so good on the finish. The older model Dan Wessons had rust issues on the hammer. Fortunately I haven't had that problem. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
I held one. Beautiful piece
@minkya1010 I love the Valor series from DW. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

@spkuse Nice collection! Mags make all the difference. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

@googlechicken Nice! I know you're enjoying it! They do rival the custom firearms. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
Wow, the “V-Bob” has changed a bit since I purchased my 1st gen years ago.
@murfrirhke4557 I have a first gen Valor as well. I think the improvement is the trigger. Pleasant to shoot. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

I am a lefty. I like the new version.
I shoot there every week , I like SA/DA guns still a nice looking gun
@Bruce Smith I used to work at Classic Pistol. I'm moved to NC in January. I miss the guys there and the regular customers.
Picked up one of these last week - absolutely amazing 1911.
@BCB76 Congrats! Enjoy it! I love shooting this firearm.
trading for one tomorrow, what defensive ammo does yours like?
@tomglpn Federal HST 230gr.
@@KeanonGilliamSlang369 pretty standard....
@@tomglpn What I've been using for years in my duty weapon G21 and currently use in all my 45acp firearms.

Beautiful pistol no doubt about it.
@AKYukon Thank you! Definitely a shooter!

Just came across this video and was wondering how the holster fit was with your Kimber Pro models. Are they interchangeable?
@Bill Hershberger Holster fit with the Kimber Pro is fine. The "Pro" in Kimber means it's the standard Commader size model in 1911s. So anything that says Commander size will fit. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
Love the new valor. Congrats. I like the look of the old valor slide serrations more
@Adi Yepis They shoot great as well.
Nice, I have the older V-Bob in the black duty finish and it shoots well. No rust on the hammer yet so hopefully I avoid that completely.
@Cole Something to be said about the V-Bob. Accurate and reliable! Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it! 👍
Can you do a video with the other Dan Wesson for comparison. I wanna get the tcp or another commander size?
@Hwy2hvn Absolutely, I love Dan Wesson 1911s
The Valor in the full size Govt Model configuration has never been discontinued. Its currently being offered in 2022.
@Todd B That is correct. It was discontinued in 2018 along with the Commander and VBOB models. All have been brought back in 2020 upgraded.
Commander classic is on my list as next 1911. Not as fancy as the vbob, but still nice
Not as fancy? Bwahahahaa
@tomglpn It's a nice firearm, I think it's as "fancy"
Very nice keanon!I had the same gun.it’s shot great.only problem was the hammer started too rust.so I got rid of it
@roy yates Thanks! They did have that problem a while back. I think, I hope that issue is resolved.
Yep I’ve seen nearly ever Dan Wesson Hammer rust. Kinda stinks. Otherwise Dan Wessons are as reliable as Wilson Combats and other higher end 1911

Do you have experience with DW Kodiak?
Thanks

@Wayne Castleman Thank you! 👍
Which one you like the best, the 4 or 5 barrel ? How is the finished on it ?
