Meaning of Valor , Valor is honor plus dignity. It's gallant bravery and strength, especially on the battlefield or in the face of danger. Saint George displayed valor when he finally slayed the dragon. It's a trait fit for a hero. Valor comes from the Latin valorem for “strength, moral worth,” with the sense of “courage” added later.
In 2023 I found a 2021 blued valor v-bob that looked like it had hardly been fired. It was a jam-o-matic thru 600 rounds. A egw hd extractor and an extractor tensioning tool solved the problem but much frustration troubleshooting and repairing it. (ps: a gunsmith from the place that I purchased it went over it but did not solve the fail to feed issues).
@@willwilliam217 that is very odd. DW usually makes very good stuff rigjt out of the box. Sort of funny a "gunsmith" coukd not dolve the problem and you did. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy it now that you have it fixed.
Wilson Combat is near the Top & Dan Wesson makes the best regular production 1911 that can be built in less than 2 hours. ( I own both.) The Wilson Combat 1911 is closer to 15 hours to make including several hours of fine tuning the 1911 by experts in their trade. Great video sir, thanks for showing off 2 great brands.
To my knowledge, I thought Wilson was still considered semi custom. Custom tier is something akin to more of nighthawk where the tolerances are simply amazing. Tightness beyond belief and smoothness out of this world. Or maybe true custom is literally getting something custom to yourself. As opposed to a custom quality off the shelf model. Regardless, people should really look into standard manufacturing 1911s. They are probably your absolute best bang for your buck no frills quality 45 1911. No mim parts and the fitment is great. With my example, I could push the barrel down ever so slightly and the slide to frame fit had a teensy bit of play. But it’s lights out accurate and crazy reliable. And looks great. And if you want a royal blue 1911. It’s pretty much the only guy in town without waiting forever for one from colt to pop up for sale or getting custom work. I got the HPX but I really want to get a royal blued one. They also make them in other finishes as well like color case hardening and nickel. Awesome American company with American craftsmen
I habe personally never handled a standard 1911. As far as comparing nighthawk to Wilson, they are basically the same. Nighthawk woukd not exist if it was not for wilson combat. It was literally old Wilson employees that started the company in the same exact town. I will loom those 1911s up. Thank you for watching
@@TerryBenton I’ve just heard that the tolerances are a little tighter with nighthawk because it’s one gun, one gunsmith. I personally don’t care about that slogan. I know Wilson has multiple gunsmiths that work on one gun. They have the absolute best expert work on fitting the barrel and another guy fitting the slide. Seems like a better system to me. And they definitely seem to have a much better time of getting the guns out instead of being back ordered for over a year.
Wilson is custom. It’s not one gun one gunsmith… but when you buy one there’s a list of people who check off on every single aspect of the gun and test fire it. Bill Wilson says it’s better to have the best trigger guy do triggers. Best magwell guys do magwells etc. one gun one gunsmith is a marketing gimmick. You don’t have your quarterback play center. @michaelocean4788 i believe they do use a couple like the grip safety. I do not know that 100 percent but that is what I have heard. Thank you for watching
The DW Specialist has served me well. Proper break in is mandatory, unlike Tupperware examples. Accurate, reliable, fantastic trigger, and if it was any better looking and it would have to be a case queen.
I was in cabelas today. Saw a used nighthawk for 1.6k and this wesson for 1k. Had to pull the trigger on the wesson. Its been a grail gun for me for A WHILE. The nighthawk they had was too flashy for me
I have 2 turn of the century Kimbers that are amazing and never needed work. The Stainless Gold Match has a 2.5LB trigger out of the box. I also have a SCHD that fits my hand perfectly and seems to just hit where I point even when moving. None of these compare to the VBOB or the 5" Valor. My main problem is that I sent the SCHD back to Kimber for FTF & they didn't fix it. The ramp was cockeyed. Had to take it to a gunsmith. Now it's perfect. But I'll never buy another one.
@@randyduncan795 I had a team match years ago. It was the top of the line Kimber at the time. It had feeding issues also. Put a bad taste in my mouth. They are just cheaply made. Thank you for your comment and watching
@@TerryBenton Kimber makes guns with features and looks that no one else does at the price. But don't buy one unless your plan is to finish the job yourself or have the gunsmith do the fitting Kimber refuses to. I've been 100% satisfied with my Dan Wessons.
@BLACKWOLF-1911 I am not a fan of thr TRP. I had a stainless full size a long time ago. The checkering is way to aggressive. Those guns do ha e alot of mim parts in them. Thisnis fine except they charge a premium for it. The DW I have is the valor which is in this video. They have a bobbed frame. I like that TCP, but if you are looking at a bobbed frame amd want to get rid of the trp maybe check out a Valor.
Sadly, DW and WC fell off California roster about 15 years ago so the stainless models are very hard to find. Les Baer and Nighthawk do not have a stainless model on roster. TRP Stainless and Kimber were my choices and it was not going to be Kimber. I'm also stuck but I am not unhappy.
I just think you proved my point that a dan wesson is levels below a wilson combat and closer to a kimber. I know the dan wesson is better but i dont think by much. They are both cnc pistols.
@sparky_-mf2cs itnis closer to a wilson than it is to a Kimber. I have a follow up video I am going to post probably tomorrow. Watch it then give me your opinion. I am looking forward to hearing it
@TerryBenton it would be cool if you could compare a DW to a kimber or springfield in and out in detail. Maybe youll change my mind😂 the only DW i have experience with and own is a classic bobtail.
The Wilson CQB that I own is hands down, the most accurate auto I have. If I do my part, it wil hold 1" at 25 yards. Having said that, it's not my choice as a defense handgun. If that thing gets even a little dirty, it will start to malfunction. The 1911 is an awesome design, but I wouldn't choose one for self defense.
