- We're taking a look at the highly anticipated Dan Wesson DWX in today's review. This gun has been talked about for years and late last year CZ finally released it to the masses. It's said to combine all the best features of the 1911 and CZ 75 platforms to make for one incredible smooth shooting gun. We have not been disappointed with the results. But the question still lingers, has this changed the competition shooting game?

It’s like three different designs put into one. The CZ 75 , 1911 and Sig p226 maybe even some of the high power.
My trigger was a little heavy, but shot in nicely. But my sights were way off from the factory.

The story I heard was Dan Wesson had slides and frames made first. They ran into supplier issues due to new York Covid policies causing the delayed release. It would have been prohibitively expensive to recut all the slides for optics. After they deplete their inventory, I’m sure they’ll release an optic cut version.

DWX is alumium frame not steel frame right????
The full size is steel and the compact is aluminum

No red dot...
If you really want a red dot mill the slide. And two. Iron sights rarely fail. You should really get good with irons
Red dots are the present and the future and arent going away. They aren’t a crutch they’re just better.

Ooh, they eliminated the internal extractor, barrel bushing and barrel link! You mean, like the Browning Hi-Power did in 1935?
Not optic ready is A SCAM!
And you CAN'T mount a reddot on it, so its perfect for modern competitior, because you know who in the competion world would want one of those pesky reddots getting in the way of their traditional iron sights.
You can get it milled for a red dot and then you don’t need plates which is the best way to go anyway. And if you can afford this pistol, you can easily afford to get it milled lol. Non-issue
