    Hi, Cathy! When determining if a rhythm is regular or irregular, what if the distance between the R waves are consistent but the distance between P waves are inconsistent and vice-versa? For a rhythm to be considered irregular do both criteria need to be fulfilled or only one?

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Caitlyn! Great question! If either the ventricular and atrial rhythm is irregular, then the overall heart rhythm would be considered to be irregular.

    What if sinus arrhythmia appear on adults? Is it a cause for concern? My cardiologist said my ekg showed irregular heartbeat that's supposed to be present on children. He was confused as to why I had chest pain while my other tests (xray and echo) were normal. Is it a cause for concern or it's fine?

    6:15 the respiratory sinus arrhythmia - you said it is an abnormality but isn’t it a beneficial condition to have? In fact, the heart rate variability is normal, yes? Also once this effect of breathing influencing is gone, can it be reversed?

    Hello @LevelUpRN, I am getting confused about where you are coming up with multiplying the total number of complexes with 10. @5:40 How do you know to multiply it by 10?

      I assume you know now, but incase anyone is reading this with the same question: It’s because you are looking at a 6 second strip, 6seconds x 10seconds = 60seconds/ 1minute. Then you get your beats per minute!

    Had a stuffy nose for 10 years. Could not breath in or out of nose. No smell ect. Started walking 1.5 miles every morning. After 6 walks my sinus opened up and i can now breath normally. So is sinus stuffyness related to cardiac health?

      While working out will definitely improve your cardiac health, the paranasal sinuses and cardiac sinus node are completely different. Happy for you though!

      What you are talking about is a different sinuses,a space near the nasal bridge which can have infection.
      The one explained above is like an electrical conduction inthe heart that leads to heartbeat which sometimes can be normal or abnormal leading to heart conditions.
      Hope you understand ablittke bit better now.

    What is this 1500?

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  3 роки тому +4

      There are 1500 small boxes in one minute. So if you count the number of small boxes between R waves, that gives you the heart rate in beats per minute.

    • @LevelUpRN

      There are 1500 small boxes in one minute. So if you divide 1500 by the number of small boxes between R waves, that gives you the heart rate in beats per minute.
