- In this video, Cathy reviews the key atrial dysrhythmias, including: Premature Atrial Complexes (PACs), Atrial Flutter, Atrial Fibrillation, and Supraventricular Tachycardia. She presents EKG strips for each of these dysrhythmia, and discusses the heart rhythm, heart rate, and other components of each dysrhythmia.
Our EKG Interpretation video tutorial series is taught by Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN and intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for their nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.

I've learned more from you in two videos than my paramedic instructors. Keep these coming!
Thank you so much!
Yeah I’m in paramedic school now and came to her video to remember my stuff lol
facts
@LevelUpRN i know it's been a couple of years since there's been some verbal activity on here, but i want you to know that it's april 2024 now, and these videos are still helping a various array of students. I am getting ready to graduate from my Medical Assisting program, as well as earn my Health Sciences certificate, i have all of my LPN prerequisite classes finished except 1 or 2 now, i just finished my clinicals, a little early at that, with several extra hours than i had to have, plus i am taking my Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national certification exam on Tuesday, April 30th 2024, which is in 2 days... and because of your videos, i have made straight As in almost all my classes, and i am very confident that i am going to pass my exam in a couple of days.
So please continue to put out this amazing content. Don't give up! You are still helping so many students make their academic and career dreams come true.
Sincerely, Celena Lowe, CCMA from Northeast TN. (Trying to decide what acedemic or career move i am going to make next now).

thank you so much
You're welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!! 😊
This is very well explained. I have to ask, though: What about Wandering Atrial Pacemaker, Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia, Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia, AV Nodal Re-Entry, Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome? 🤔🤔
Hi level Up I have a Question, in atrial premaure comples is the P wave consider abnormal due to the one time premature atrial contraction? and is it 1:1 conduction . thank you
Blessings
Thank you for your videos. Btw you mentioned that you would go over anti-arrhythmia medications at the end of this video but I think it was omitted :/
She said ‘end of this video series’, not this particular video =)
When you calculated the heart rate, why did you count the number of small boxes between the F waves, rather than the R waves?
Calculating the space between the R waves tells us the ventricular rate, but counting the space between the F waves tells us the atrial rate! Hope that helps :)
@@LevelUpRN I was wondering the same thing, thank you for the clarification (:
i hace pacs but what do you mean if we have frequent pace like how many is it? please i need to know and thanks a lot for this video
More than 6 PACs per minute is considered problematic.
@@emilyg.8457 thanks a lot for replying but is it true that everyone gets pacs and pvcs at least once a day because i do not believe this?????
@@talaltallal3775 I don't think so, I've never heard about that!
@@emilyg.8457 search for York cardiology. you will love this doctor he is amazing he works in the UK. he has so many videos about pvcs and pacs.
Where do I get the flashcards?
