    I bought my 2008 G35 in 2012 with 78k miles. I sold it in January 2021 with 270k without any issues. During ownership, I only did basic/routine maintenance, replaced alternator and starter with water pump in the 200,000s miles. I changed my oils every 5k, full synthetic. The car was washed and detailed regularly. It was a great reliable car.

    Loved my older 2016 Q50S Red Sport rwd. It saw the track 2 4 time a month. 35k plus miles on it fully modded, only issue was the belt. The an old man in a Camry decided to just throw his car in front of me in the rain. Total loss. Now running a 2019 AWD Red Sport. My 2 cents maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. @@SpeedCultureStudios Absolutely, one of the reasons I went with Nissan/Infiniti is the value. Provided you don't abuse the car and maintain it (which goes with most vehicles outside design flaws) I've not had a major issue on the 3 different VQ's I've owned. I hear they have had some issues the past decade, but I am assuming that's been in their lower end cars using the 2.5 with some sort of CVT configuration.

    My 370Z with its VQ37VHR is approaching 12K miles and is using about 5 oz of oil in 3300 miles. The oil I'm using is the Nissan Ester oil plus a Fram Ultra Synthetic filter, changed at about a 3500 mile interval. After a cold start, I let it idle until the oil temp gets up to about 140 deg F and I then keep the revs from exceeding 2K until the oil temp gets up to about 170 to 180 deg F.

At about the 15K mile mark the oil consumption decreased to the point where it's not discernable on the dipstick. I have continued with the 3K mile OCI and there have been no problems with the car. I have flushed all the fluids at about 1/2 the recommended interval.

Just my luck. my other one that was totaled at 125k miles…the mass air flow sensors were acting up…the telematics quit working, so map and screen wouldn’t work, loud rattle underneath. back up camera quit working properly. idk if i keep lemons or what, but the newest one has a quote of 6k from infiniti to fix everything that is important to fix.

Had the issue with the steering rack where it pulls to the left or right like crazy then goes away but comes back later on. So started with having to replace driver side tie rods. Month later had to replace the passenger side. Get it back cars making a huge clunk metal on metal sound. Find that the driver side tie rod needs replaced again ontop of that the boots torn and needs replaced. Same visit noise still present and the find the steering rack loose and bent so have to be replace. Repairs done still clunking. Any major issues? I’m interested in getting a 2014 q50s with 90k miles for around 12k but idk if it’s worth it to get a 2016 with 40k miles for 20k

      Miguel Vasquez if the car is 5 years old that’s over 12k miles per year-average mileage. Not low really.

      taylor meyer no problem! Hopefully it was helpful! It’s a pretty simple job. But seriously, don’t get that stuff on your clothes or in your hair! You’ll smell it for weeks!

    Dude you need to invest in some audio equipment so I can hear you. I am pretty sure you have great content but I can't hear a word you say without jacking up my volume.

      You might have to adjust your settings. Playback is perfect for me both on mobile and laptop. Volume less than half...
      But I would like to get some better equipment.

      Speed Culture Studios so far not to bad, I’m always early for oil changes so the engine is still solid!! Trans shifts fine, maybe a little more firm with age. Only things needed so far suspension work, it went into limp mode on a chassis control code, blend door actuator for the ac, and now the ac is acting up again. Still a wicked fun car though man!!

      Cason Cerda blend door actuator is one I forgot to mention, but the chassis control code was exactly what I was talking about u1001 or something like that.

      No thanks. My car isn’t fast but it’s faster than a Lexus lol. I’m joking around. I do like Lexus and they can definitely be reliable, but I’m not interested in them.

      Anthony that Has nothing to do with the video lol. We are still waiting to see how reliable the 3.0t is. 3.7 is tried and true.

      @anthonyrosario8982 4 роки тому +1

      @@alphav1537 I mean I've had my 3.0 for 32k miles already and have had literally 0 problems. 3.7 Might sound better but you arent getting NEARLY the same performance and mileage as a stock 3.0... reliability seems literally the same as a 3.7.

    • @alphav1537
      @alphav1537 4 роки тому +1

      Anthony Rosario well a Stock 3.0t vs a full bolt on 3.7 will lose! If you start modding the 3.0t you will get issues my friend has a 18 q50 silver sport with 12k miles and he already got heat soak issues . All he did was install down pipes , intake and a tune. I can do the same with the 3.7 and get no issues.

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  4 роки тому

      Anthony Rosario to be fair, I am bolt on and tuned 3.7 and get 22mpg and the car also performs very well for what I use it for-performance is relative of course. A tuned 3.0t will beat me in a straight line obviously but all that power won’t help much with an open diff against me on the twisty roads.
      But my main point is that the vq has been around for 15+ years so reliability has been established. The vr30 has only a few years of being tested-so having a few cars on the road with over 50k mikes doesn’t tell us much yet. I hope it proves to be just as reliable over the years!
