@@Snk13_ty the infotainment system is solid its everything you can ask for its a bit sluggish and stuff but mainly the reason i feel people feel a type of way is because they stay the same every year and well people expect more advancements every upcoming year cause you can buy a q50 from 2015 and itll be the same as a 2024 interior and all but obviously the engine changes and bro get it its smooth but she doesnt move like a coupe would but she can cruise at 100 like your floating
A 2007 Lexus GS350 has been my daily driver for 17 years (110K miles). While it has never left me stranded, I'm disappointed the driver's seat leather wore prematurely (noticeable after just 4 years - Lexus said not a warranty item), the ABS had to be replaced 8 years ago ($3,200), the a/c compressor failed last year ($2,600) and the painted moldings on the roof began peeling after 10 years. Car is meticulously maintained inside and out. Not sure if these 'complaints' are warranted or if I expect too much after only 110K miles. Will buy either a Genesis G80 couple or Acura RDX in 2025. NX looks nice but too cramped inside. Good video!
I have an 09 GS with 125k on it. Absolutely love the car and intend to keep it until it starts costing me too much to keep it. Have never had a single major issue with it. I also had the paint peel on the roof strips but I went ahead and peeled the paint off (it’s really more like a vinyl wrap) and the car actually looks better with the two metallic strips exposed.
The second hand market price does tell the result. Acura is the alternate choice of Lexus and other premium brands for cheaper price in the brand new market. In the used car market, for brand image and heritage superficially, people would mainly consider MB, BMW and Lexus.
Lexus, Acura and Infiniti are more reliable, durable and convenient in the luxury market. BMW, MB, Audi and many european brands are hectic once they need parts replacement, expensive maintenance, no reliability or durability which means money pit for life.
If you want to own long-term for many years to come, and hate to go to the mechanic shop then Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti are way better choices. If you want european brands is better to lease for 3 years max. They are known to be money pit visiting the mechanic shop significantly more often.
@@PS-js9oh Not denied Acura and Infiniti cars not to be reliable and durable but Lexus car is better in comparison. My first post clearly expressed the reason why Lexus is better than the other two Japanese competitors.
I have a 22 RDX ASPEC and love it. There's a lot of quality feeling materials in the interior like real metals and decent plastics. Really nothing feels like it will crack and peel on high touch surfaces like previous Acura models and other manufacturers. The biggest complaint with everyone is the touch pad. It's awesome while using Acura interface, but lags in Carplay and AA. If it didn't, I think it's better than touchscreen. The large incandescent rear turn signals kinda marr the look of the exterior, but it's such a beautiful SUV overall you can live with it.
@@ECPP my wife owns an ‘13 Acura RDX, technology package, AWD. I go to my uncles mechanic shop every week. Its not even close its definitely lexus. Im not a mechanic so im not gonna go into much detail, but from the engine to transmission, lexus is just better. My business professor who has been in the marketing industry for over 30 years said this. “American car execs are encouraged to drive lexus, so they know what perfection feels like and hopefully they can replicate it in their products.” My lexus sales person and who is now also a good friend said that “lexus wont release a vehicle unless its perfect” The word “perfect” is thrown around a lot with lexus and I dont hear that for any other brand. Just my two cents Edit: I would like to add that my uncle HATES the honda timing belt and that toyotas new engines arent proven yet so we will see!
Lexus F cars are severely underappreciated. Who doesnt like reliable japanese muscle cars? Those V8s are fun to drive and very reliable. Also, I could be wrong but Infiniti Q50s are turbo not NA. I've been eyeing Lexus for a while wanting a IS350 but after driving a 2017 Acura TLX I fell in love. I love my sporty VW but it's always broken lol. The Acura is the perfect car for me with the more sporty styling and driving feel as a nice transition into a sport/luxury sedan. I got the 3.5L V6 with AWD and tech package
I had a lexus Gs 350 I had it four years. Excellent vehicle. Very fast, very reliable.I kinda wish I would have kept it Traded it in for a 2002 Sierra.S l t with only fifty five thousand miles on it one Owner awesome truck
I bought my first LS400 when it first came out. Traded it in 03 for an ES300, and just traded it 2 weeks ago for a 25 NX350H. That's 3 vehicles in 35 years, with only minor issues. I get wanting to look cool with a new ride every 5 or 6 years, but for me, its about having no payments, and driving them into the ground. Problem is, they never make it to the ground. I keep trading them. My neighbor bought a jeep cherokee 2019 trailhawk elite. It now needs a motor replacement. I don't know what they put in the cool aid at Toyota, but hopefully they stick to the same formula for years to come. More expensive, but they just keep going.
I'll say Lexus is the best of the three Japanese Luxury brands Acura is 2nd and Infinity especially in recent years had been the most troublesome as its parent Nissan is similar for regular cars. my moms cousin bill does servicing and inspections for cars and just did a low mileage 2019 Lexus around 50,000 on the odometer which is your basic 4 year warranty granted Luxury cars tend to weigh more then non luxury cars for example a mini cooper weighs 2,841 with an automatic transmission while a Cadillac CT5 V blackwing weighs 4,142 pounds with an Automatic transmission
I would have to go with Lexus. I currently own a 2022 Acura MDX Type S Advance. In my two years of ownership, I had to bring it back to the dealership several times for build quality issues. Lexus, for the most part, is still made in Japan and the quality shows.
Our first Lexus was an ES350 when they first came out. I have a bad back so it was the seat comfort especially the lumbar support that won me over. Then when looking for our first SUV we looked at both Lexus and Acura and again the Lexus seat comfort won me over. Bought another ES then went back to an RX. My husband takes our old Lexus to drive I get the new ones. All of our cars have been driven over 150k, one over200k. Right now my 2014 RX has 160k on it so looking for a new one, I think I want the RX hybrid but haven’t driven one yet. As usual I always want a popular model.BTW we drive cars into the ground cuz we hate the hassle of buying them.
People hate a manual transmission thats cheaper to own. It also requires less maintenance. I bought a Mustang GT 1986 . I couldn't frive it. I ask him to turn yhe vehicle around. Then praying no stop signs and and luckily to drive it home. It was a fun car,and bought manuals ever since. It just becomes natural to shift, and about 3k less money.
So much truth in this video. Awesome video 👍👏🙏 I have owned Hondas and Acuras for 3 decades but last 13 years I have gravitated towards Toyota and Lexus. By far, Toyota and Lexus are far superior in quality, parts quality and very reliable and durable. Hondas were better in the 80s and early 90s but lost their quality last couple decades. Mazdas are actually far better quality than Acuras or Infiniti.

I think Toyota/Lexus should go away from turbo, unless they do something monumental with durability, but instead should invest in hybrids to save gas. Nobody does hybrids better than Toyota/Lexus. Maybe all their vehicles should be hybrid. Maybe turbocharged (if dependable) and hybrid combo.

I looked at all the luxury SUVs mentioned. I almost bought the Lexus RX350 F Type AWD but wasn't happy with how simple the interior was, and it was underpowered and small as well. It was boring, in my opinion. The GX460 was too clunky and had a truck like ride. The new GX550 wasn't really available yet, and more LandRover like. We ended up going with the Acura MDX Type S which was very well appointed with tons of technology and luxury. It also had a great third row seat setup. It's been almost a month and I'm extremely happy with my decision. There is about a $20k difference between the base trim which is nice and the Type S which comes with a lot of extras.
I am amazed at the amount of interest you guys place in the purchase of a car,. Who CARES about their lights geegaws on the outside. A car is transport from point "A" to point "B". You concern yourself with its mechanical condition, & how reliable that vehicle is in the long run. My personal opinion is that any of the late model vehicles are costly to purchase & to repair. My pick up is a 27 year old Dodge Ram 4X4 3/4 ton diesel, & my daily drive is a 21 year old Buick Park Ave. with the series two 3800 engine. I am 84, do my own repairs & I have no intention of driving anything newer. You know & I know that late model cars are meant to be junked , not rebuilt. Parts are often inoperable out of the box. When I bought my Dodge diesel new in 97, it was $45,000 CDN. I thought that I was in my dotage when I bought it, but it has proven to be the most trouble free truck that I have ever owned & it has well over one million miles on it. Both my vehicles will likely do me for as long as I am likely to be driving, thank God. I love your "channel".
Acura V6 engines run on timing belts. All there current 4 cylinders run on a timing chain. The 2.0 liter k20 C6 turbo with a 10 speed automatic transmission is very reliable and runs with a timing chain.

Sold parts to NIssan, now retired. I do like a few Nissan vehicles, but they have horrible CVT transmissions. Have to say that Toyota/Lexus is the best, hands down. However, HOnda/Acura are also good products. Owned both and will stay Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. Worked in product management for NGK-Niterra and Denso. I would not touch a NIssan, Kia or Hyundai. I think Mazda is a good product as well. Toyota has issues with their Turbos. Turbos are limiters to long-term reliability. TOyota trucks now cost too much. Would not even consider Stellantis, GM Or Ford. GReat review!
Thank you so much and I appreciate your perspective. I also agree, Mazda is an up and comer, and honestly better than many rivals. Yes the big 3 do t have products that make a lot of sense for most people as reliability and value is simply not there.
I love acuras, but you cannot argue that Lexus is the best. They have something for everyone. They dominate every category and thats while being the most reliables. Respect to the Toyota engineers
Nissan products, with exception of the older Armadas and the new Frontier, not a brand I would buy again. As a Toyota family of late, the turbo fours seem like beta tests for the owners, although if Toyota sticks to their ethics, they will address issues as they develop and cover customers. Something Nissan will not do.

Acura and Infiniti are better looking cars. The new Lexus IS is gorgeous, the LC500 is basically a Japanese Aston Martin but I prefer the Q60 to the RC350 and I prefer the TLX to the ES350. Just my personal preference.
awe i still love my 3.7 q50 those 3.7 are bullet proof its one of the most reliable engine that infiniti has made and its better in reliability than the 3.0 turbo but to each their own
How do you like the infotainment unit in your car? And why does every car reviewer out there have something bad to say about the Q50's steering? I'm thinking about getting a 2020 Q50 3.0t
Out of the three companies Lexus is definitely the champ
Yes so far they have had durable products.
just got back from a 15 hour trip on my QX60 2016, incredible ride ,no hick ups, I highly recommend
Good video!
Nice
Yes I would totally agree with that
Lexus, Acura and Infiniti are more reliable, durable and convenient in the luxury market.
@@thethreatwrestling.7053 No! Acura and Infiniti might not be the choices for long term running which might need to approach mechanic frequently.
Nice
My vote is for Infiniti especially from a value for money perspective. I drive a QX60 and just love it!
I had all three brands and I can say with total confidence that the brand I had 0 problems with was Lexus.
I'll never leave Lexus again.
Acura for life
No offense but Lexus is superior to Acura, more refined, more reliable and more amenities .
That’s a fair statement
@@ECPP my wife owns an ‘13 Acura RDX, technology package, AWD. Excellent vehicle 140k, so far not a single problem whatsoever, but when I compare with a ‘13 or earlier Lexus RX 350 there are several details that are easy to notice , Lexus outperforms Acura in transmission performance, interior amenities , almost noiseless cabin , timing chain vs timing belt and resale value , I work as a”Vehicle conditions assessor” for a big retail car company, do I need to say more ? 😉

I go to my uncles mechanic shop every week. Its not even close its definitely lexus. Im not a mechanic so im not gonna go into much detail, but from the engine to transmission, lexus is just better.
My business professor who has been in the marketing industry for over 30 years said this. “American car execs are encouraged to drive lexus, so they know what perfection feels like and hopefully they can replicate it in their products.”
My lexus sales person and who is now also a good friend said that “lexus wont release a vehicle unless its perfect”
The word “perfect” is thrown around a lot with lexus and I dont hear that for any other brand.
Just my two cents
Edit: I would like to add that my uncle HATES the honda timing belt and that toyotas new engines arent proven yet so we will see!
You are right. The reliability king
Lexus F cars are severely underappreciated. Who doesnt like reliable japanese muscle cars? Those V8s are fun to drive and very reliable. Also, I could be wrong but Infiniti Q50s are turbo not NA. Not since they left the VQ37 for the VR30. I believe 2014 was the last year the Q50 had a 3.7 NA engine.
You are totally right on that and F cars are a great option. Especially compared to their less reliable German competitors
2015 as well it was 2016 that started the turbos

Lexus is in a league of their own when it comes to durability reliability and dependability as well as Refinement! Not even close!
Lexus = Most Reliable but sacrifices performance for reliance
Acura = Not as reliable as Lexus but sacrifices a bit of reliability for the performance factor
I myself went for a 2024 Acura TLX Type S and IT ROCKS. Test drove the iS350 and it was nice but I enjoyed the TLX Type S drive ability more.

1:12 😮 Thanks for that insight, Mark! I really want that UX as a hybrid awd, so now I’m more informed.
It’s quite a pretty little Sub compact hybrid SUV.
I will avoid a Nissan/Infiniti with the CVT from now to eternity.
That is a bad design but they are starting to switch back on some models ie q50

I have a 2016 QX50 3.7 and it’s rock solid. Also have an 2018 NX300 2.0 Turbo. Doesn’t use any oil and drives like it did when new. And just to nit-pick Mark, the ES300h does not have a turbo engine and DIRECT 4 is the AWD system, not 4-wheel steering…
Very nicely stated
Love your videos Mark . No fluff all buff 😂 you always explain the good and bad and like you said always do your investigating before you buy , thanks .

That Lexus is a great vehicle, sounds like you needed something with a little
More tow capacity
When you touched on the q50, the 2015 model was the final year for the NA 3.7. 2016-current is 3L TT v6
The 2019 and up Acura Rdx use a timing chain not a timing belt! The older rdx 2018 and earlier use a timing belt!
A better question would be. Which one is the ghetto brand? Hands down, Infinity!
Haha that’s a great comment and it makes a person wonder. The variable compression is a mess.
Yeah it's used but u really don't see the new top models on the road tho nd I still see some from the 90's running
😂😅u said ghetto
I hope Infiniti survives bc I’m digging their new gen QX80, I don’t like the new gen QX60 though, I’ve been in it and it drove sloppy
😂
Hey bro! Lexus LS500 has the V6 Twin Turbo 😊
Cheers. Haha thanks for watching
............................. ALSO has a GLORIOUS V* Naturally Aspirated bullet proof motor coupled to stunning interior / Quality!
It’s a no-brainer Lexus all the way ☝️
Our first Lexus was an ES350 when they first came out.
Thanks so much for sharing
People hate a manual transmission thats cheaper to own. It also requires less maintenance. I bought a Mustang GT 1986 . I couldn't frive it. I ask him to turn yhe vehicle around. Then praying no stop signs and and luckily to drive it home. It was a fun car,and bought manuals ever since. It just becomes natural to shift, and about 3k less money.
Manuals are seriously the best but it’s unfortunate that OEMs have almost eliminate them
So much truth in this video.
Awesome video 👍👏🙏
I have owned Hondas and Acuras for 3 decades but last 13 years I have gravitated towards Toyota and Lexus. By far, Toyota and Lexus are far superior in quality, parts quality and very reliable and durable. Hondas were better in the 80s and early 90s but lost their quality last couple decades. Mazdas are actually far better quality than Acuras or Infiniti.
I experienced just the opposite with Toyotas, too many trips back to the dealership/service for fix its. I’ll remain with Honda/Acura.
This is a great video very detailed. I feel very informed.
I'll take a Lexus over the others, the older non-turbo vehicles
The old 3.5 for the win
I have a 1999 Acura 2.3 CL still going strong as my daily driven with 179000 in hot Phoenix Arizona heat still strong motor and everything works and air is cold as new only work done was a radiator three years ago and starter was a Acura recall

No problems with it yet, but then again i have not picked it up from my friend who im buying it from yet 😂
I do plan on scoring an old lexus at some point in the near future.

Yes there is added complexity in the brand these days
................... I concur....... Instead of Turbo like on my 450h+ "F" Sport....... GO ADD-ON elec motors...Toi get more power and versatility!..Much better TORQ. Quick out of hole and you get Option to drive in elec or Gas...In my My car I use REGULAR 89 oct However I never use the ICE, so it is like a brand new Back up engine...WIN WIN!
Sounds like a great choice. The MDX is a lovely vehicle indeed
My next baby will be Lexus RX 350 F Sport AWD Charcoal Gray Black Rims. ❤ Thanks Mark. I was debating between Acura MDX and Lexus RX 350. I'm now good!
Awesome! I hope that helped. Cheers

I’d take the new MDX over the new RX but the last gen RX over the last gen MDX, get a 2020-2022 Lexus RX350 F Sport and you’ll love it for many years to come
Good luck and get in line and expect to pay a refundable deposit just to be in the game. I tried last year for five months, at seven dealerships and NONE had any Lexus NX 350h or RX350h they said put down a $2,000 deposit, and maybe in 6 to 12 months you may come up on the list, and no guarantee with what I wanted.

The 2.4 turbo in the Lexus NX was toyotas most reliable engine.
@@solidtmj Yep, reliable because Toyota addresses any issues that arise in post production, unlike BMW who have had years of issues with the hot V's yet continue to roll them out.

Yes the bigger units are better than their smaller SUVs
Doesn't the Infinity QX80 have a 9 SPD automatic transmission? (Torque converter). I'm so glad you owned up that the Acuras and 6 cyl Hondas use a timing belt. That is a crime when coupled with an interference engine.
