Taking Way Too Long

The plaintiff says he and his girlfriend put a deposit on an apartment they were going to rent from the defendant, who promised to repair some things. He says the apartment smelled terrible and wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be, so they’re suing to get the deposit back. The defendant says the plaintiff backed out because he found a cheaper place.
