Dose anyone know how to do a blend door actuator relearn without a scan tool(2015 impala limited 3.6)?? Tried unhooking that battery for 1hr, bit it did not work.
You shouldn't have to "relearn" anything. If the actuator is working properly, it will continue to rotate until it reaches the end of it's travel, and the ECM notes that as the endpoint. The car basically recalibrates the actuators every time you turn the ignition switch on or off. I would immediately suspect a bad actuator if it's not behaving like it should.
@@CertifiedShadetree that's what i was thinking, put a new one in from rock auto and when it went to close the recirculation door it staryed clicking like crazy and ate the gears. (Also alldata says something about a relearn but dose not tell you how to do it/anything about it)
@@CertifiedShadetree the thing is, when the door changes from recirculation to fresh air it dose not stop when it's suppose to and keeps trying to close. Causing it the destroy/strip the gears(for the moment I just have it unpluged turned on the fresh air side) probably just a defective part.
Don't know, but the sellers on eBay have jacked up the price to $500! I'd rather spend $379 for the K&N kit than $500 for this one. It was a steal at $179...
It's made for the 3.6 LFX engine, so sadly it won't fit. Or you could try one of those universal kits from Spectre and go without the heat shield 🤷♂️.
You could also get a K&N drop-in filter and cut off the front side of the stock air box and get the same results. Or so I've been told 🤔..
@@CertifiedShadetree think I may have found one it’s on eBay but it is the only one I can find in existence by a seller name “ph tuneup”(7968) it Saids it’s a fit for my 08 lt so I’ll fingers crossed and hope it does work When I order it and have it put on
That's a decent price, too! I mean it doesn't have a heat shield, but the pipes and couplers appear to be quality made. Might want to swap to a K&N or Spectre filter, tho..
@@Mr-on9lp Cold air Inductions for the 3.9 and 5.3...
Literally fits perfectly on the 3.5 (I know because I've had an 08 ls, and an 09 lt with 3.5), and it's better than ANY other intake (including this AF "COLD AIR" intake, AND the k&n) because the Cold air Inductions has an ACTUAL SEALED housing heat shield around the filter, unlike the AF and k&n
(Also alldata says something about a relearn but dose not tell you how to do it/anything about it)
@@nickkrygier915 Did you check the operation of the blend door before installing the actuator to see if it was binding up?
@@CertifiedShadetree the thing is, when the door changes from recirculation to fresh air it dose not stop when it's suppose to and keeps trying to close. Causing it the destroy/strip the gears(for the moment I just have it unpluged turned on the fresh air side) probably just a defective part.
@@nickkrygier915 I would bet that with 100% certainty. Those actuators are all junk, no matter what manufacturer they come from.
Awesome brother!!!!!
🍻
this will work for a 2012?
Yes.
Do they even make this anymore
Don't know, but the sellers on eBay have jacked up the price to $500! I'd rather spend $379 for the K&N kit than $500 for this one. It was a steal at $179...
I looked it up yesterday and it was back down to $179 everywhere. AF dynamics impala is all you have to look up.
Will this fit a 2010 impala 3.5 L?
It's made for the 3.6 LFX engine, so sadly it won't fit. I take that back - the heat shield/filter assembly fits the car, so I suppose you COULD improvise a way to connect that part up to the 3.5's throttle body, maybe with a Spectre tubing kit. Or cut and weld the tube that comes in the kit if you possess that sort of skill. 🤷♂
Ight I appreciate that I think I can make something work, everything is the same as yours the only thing that is slightly different is the throttle body position..
You might want to keep the part of the original tube that contains the MAF and IAT sensors and splice in a new piece between there and the filter box.
Can’t find anywhere a cold air intake for a 2012 LT without knowing how to modify 1 yourself
Both the AF Dynamic and K&N kits fit the 2012, regardless of what the listings say. The same engine was in ALL 9th Gens from 2012-2016 without any changes.
@@CertifiedShadetree oh thank god, the typhoon intake from k&n said it was for 2013 and that it wouldn’t fit 2012
Wait when u put it on it wasted more gas
Quite the contrary. I've been averaging a 1.5 MPG improvement overall since installing it..
It takes 50-100 miles. To get a correct MPG. I Have a 13 and 14.
i want one now lol
They're $500 now!! 😱
