When Randy was talking about how special the car is and how “not many people are saying to themselves I need a 5.3 FWD impala. I chuckled and looked out my window to my driveway where I have a 5.3 FWD impala lol 😂
got my 2006 Impala SS in the summer of 2019 my very first car ! & I love it so much its been ups & downs with it but going into 2024 planning on keeping it & finishing it
Send it to the auto spa and have him do a full detail. I bet it would look amazing from him and have the pdr done!! Tint the windows and sell it like you do everything else Eventually your going to start keeping a rare or odd car here and there!!
Great job getting to those back spark plugs , I might've had to remove that front dog bone motor mount to get to them . And yes those transmissions are pretty soft for those type of engines so every 20,000 sounds about right . I would enjoy the car for a bit then send it down the road .
Love the impala ss. I had an 07 impala ss and absolutely loved it. I sold it and now I wish I hadn't. They do good on gas, I would get 30.5 on a trip with mine. Thanks for another great video.
Definitely enough torque to have fun with at 325lbs in a fairly light car, I definitely surprised a few ppl with mine when I owned it before the trans went out.
@@march71988 nice, I just picked up another w body same gen lacrosse but I wanted more reliability so i opted for the 3800. Always heard they’re solid engine’s especially the 3 series.

I had the engine out of mine recently and boy im glad i did the Spark Plugs, Wires, Valve Cover Gaskets, EGR gasket, Exhaust Manifold Gaskets, Coolant Crossover Gasket, Blend Door Actuators, Oil pan, Transmission Filter and Gasket, Water Pump, Idler Pulley I think. Originally the Flange broke free from the Catalytic Converter, so I had no way of bolting it back up to the car. As time goes on i think i notice more and more of an exhaust leak.
Keep the Taurus SHO V8 and Impala SS. You have two V8 FWD American family cars from two main competitors at the same time. They just have a 7-8 year age difference.😊 Black and Silver do match...😂😂😂 As always, great videos and keep 'em coming! OAN: Randy, if you keep the Impala, do you plan on doing the DOD delete? Would be an awesome Santa's Workshop collab...👀😂
Lol Randy I agree with you I like the impala ss and the Monte Carlo ss ! As well as the odd ball vehicles ! I’d love to have that Impala! It sure seems like for as old as it is it’s been took care of as best as it could be for the year and miles! It’s a pretty nice old car ! I feel it would make i a nice toy to just drive and play around with! If it was mine I’d have it painted and change headlights and just keep it and use it as it was built for! Everyone I find in WV is nothing but junk either rotted out or plum wore out!
I love this car. I have a 2006 CHEVY IMPALA LT similar to this one and it is still running great. I take very good care of my car and I bought this car brand new from the dealer AUGUST 2006 with 32 miles on it. It now has 158000 miles on it. MACCO charge me 1100 dollars and the paint still shinning even after wiping it down. It's worth the investment and guess what no car payments
I'm surprised you don't open a small car dealership because you're really good at this and you have a pretty decent following now so I think it would help you get a lot of customers, you could just specialized in old cars with a few blemishes and I definitely feel people will come from all over to buy cars from you so it's definitely something you think about because you can work on of them and just show videos and tell people you're hiring in a video and you'll have tons of applications🕺
Dealer license is peanuts but the reason I believe is that he doesn't want to deal with customers which is completely understandable having done retrial and food service hell myself.
I believe last time for milage you were seeing 19.0 for fuel economy. And I would like to see a detail make over on this one. I think it will clean up well.
I pulled the front motor mounts on my monte carlo SS put it in gear and the motor rocked forward and had my brother put a screwdriver through the mounts and it gave us a lot more room to do the back side.
around my area you always see them on the road, but never for sale. speaks to the use for them i think. i just got mine and im pretty impressed with it next to my 2012 ram laramie. the pull on it is fantastic for what it is, the interior i think is nice i enjoy the space for the front, back no so much. tons of trunk space.
I got the 2009 impala SS as my current daily driver while my other car sits in the garage most of the time. I love this car. I do indeed change the transmission fluid every 40k miles or so. It has 150k miles on it so far and I haven't had any issues out of it outside of replacing gas pedal, throttle body, alternator, evap purge valve, radiator and cooling fan... They both was a pain in the ass to replace! I also turned off cylinder deactivation so it will run on all 8 cylinders at all times
Keep it Randy. Looking forward to a comparison with the new impala and that old impala you talked about. But honestly you should keep it. Its in really good condition.
THEY ARE A FUN CAR TO DRIVE,,A friend of mine took the rear wheel drive Impala SS,,& Dropped a 41 Chevy 2dr Slant back Over the late model frame ,,keeping n using the new dash n firewall,, was a great driving n performing car ,,very much stock
this video makes me feel better about my decision to get one of these, everything ive done so far has been super easy. the one exception is the drivers side hot/cold blend door actuator, but i haven't done that yet.
I drive my 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS LS4 V8 daily and love driving it. Transmission blew out at 186k miles. Replaced it it's a New off the shelf transmission from Bob Hook Chevy performance center and she runs strong once again. Keep It you won't regret it with all the fun of 323 ft pounds of torque and 25.7 + mpg while in four cylinder mode cruising. No other four door car of its time had DOD tht I am aware of.
I have the 2009 SS the last Impala SS, very good condition daily driver. They only made 49,000 2006-09 and the 09 only a few thousand were made. I think they are starting to get the respect they deserve as a classic car.
I think a nice refresh on the paint work and definitely headlights, would definitely be a good addition, even if you don’t plan on keeping it, it still increases the value

I’d say have take it down to the Auto Spa for a decent detail and send it down the road. I love both the Monte Carla SS and the Impala SS, and it will be worth something one day, but it needs several imperfections worked out and it’ll still be quite sometime before it’d be old enough to pay off.
I had a 2006 Impala SS. I loved it, alot of fun! I had to get rid of it for a few reasons, the main one being gas mileage. I got a bout 15.5 mpg. It was costing me around $350/month in gas, and that was too much for me. Please, clean the engine bay!

I built an LS4 and 4T65 and swapped it in my 95 Cutlass.. . if you undo the dog bone mount and then jack the engine forward.. @@jaxbishop4335 unfortunately with GM the 4T65e 4 speed auto is the same transmission the Grand Prixs (GT, GTP, GXP, Lacrosse) have and they are dog shit, I went spent around 2k on a rebuilt transmission just to be safe and a trans cooler to keep them temps under 200’F. GM has come a long way with Transverse mounted V8's. The 1985 Cadillac Deville/Fleetwoods were the worlds first with the little HT4100 v8 with 140 hp, then came the 300 hp Northstar System in 1993.

It's worth a refresh at Maaco.
I live here in OKC. Don't send it to maco. I'd love the chance to detail the paint on that. I think that paint would come back pretty good.
Randy, I would send it to Macco and then have it detailed. Then when you went to sale it. You could make your money back then some.
Randy looks for a 2013-16 Dodge Dart SXT 2.4 liter and 6 speed auto overdrive
Randy PDR the dents get the fender straight do a bsic cleanup on it buff the hood and see what it will bring
I would like to see it painted and detailed. Only if you think you can at least break even.
GM has come a long way with Transverse mounted V8's. The 1985 Cadillac Deville/Fleetwoods were the worlds first with the little HT4100 v8 with 140 hp, then came the 300 hp Northstar System in 1993.
Good job Randy. 😎😎👍👍
