A good tip to keep your cake platter clean from icing and decorating is using 4 sheets of parchment paper and lay it into a square on the platter. Then you can just pull out the parchment paper sheets when you're done icing and decorating! If that made sense lol I don't bake, but I've seen that tip before.

Currently making this and I'm at the coolintg part. I have to say,m this was AMAZING! It was so easy, and everything went so smoothly! I even used powder food-colouring and it still wen perfectly! Now I just have to wait for it to cool, make the frosting, decorate it, and I'll be done!

It was a little dense and a little dry, but those issues are 100% on me, I seem to always have those problems when I make cakes from scratch (I'm assuming the density is from stirring the batter too much and the dryness is from baking too much [the sides of the cake also shrunk from the sides , a sure sign of baking too long]). Both problems should be easy to fix with time and practice. I imagine that once I can get mine to the level as yours, I'll be sinking my teeth into it like Natasha did at the end of the video!

I tried this recipe Sunday. It's Wednesday now and the cake is still unbelievably moist. This is the softest red velvet cake I've ever had. I have to make some adjustments to the time and temp. After 30 minutes, mine was still liquid in the middle. I left it in for an additional 30 minutes and it started to burn at the bottom.
I made this recipe into cupcakes, and they were absolutely delicious, and they became even more delicious after I made the cream cheese frosting, finally a cream cheese frosting that does not taste completely like cream cheese. Thank you again for the tips about the frosting Mrs. Natasha😃

Made this yesterday for valentine's celebrations and everyone loved. If I was to make this again I would reduce the sugar a bit more because when I added the sugar syrup to keep the cake moist overnight it made it a little bit too sweet. thank you so much for the tips and tricks you used in this video to make it so moist. I made the cake the day before and put plastic wrap and put it in the cooled oven for less than 24 hours to put frosting the following day and it was still so moist. Today is the day after the V'day, I just got it out of the fridge and I am just having for brekki after putting 20 secs in Microwave. ahhh soo goood :) thank you thank you.

The best red velvet recipe i think so far , It looks so fluffy and pillowy melt in your mouth goodness . I will surely try this . I have watched other videos of redv cake they all look so dense not fluffy
Red velvet cake is NOT a chocolate cake. Ive been baking true Old fashioned red velvet cake for 50 years. 2 TBS of cocoa is not a chocolate cake, only a hint. Also, the vinegar is combined with the baking soda and folded in at the very end. The texture should be more dense then light and fluffy...thus the "velvet" texture!
This recipe is fantastic Natasha, I used to be a chef and, made thousands of cakes. The only thing I did different with this recipe was using half of the powder or confectioner's sugar for the icing. I have to watch my sugar and, carb intake, otherwise this is an excellent recipe for Red Velvet Cake! I also used my kitchen aid stand mixer instead of a hand mixer because I have so many varible speeds on my newer stand mixer. The proper room temperature of the butter and, cream cheese are very important, great tips Natasha!👍😎🧁🍨🎂🍰

Happened to me, too! When I cook something and then would happen to watch that same dish and regret I should have watched that first because the reckoning is there: It is a better version of what I had just cooked :(

Red velvet cake is NOT a chocolate cake. Ive been baking true Old fashioned red velvet cake for 50 years. 2 TBS of cocoa is not a chocolate cake, only a hint. Also, the vinegar is combined with the baking soda and folded in at the very end. The texture should be more dense then light and fluffy...thus the "velvet" texture!

This recipe is fantastic Natasha, I used to be a chef and, made thousands of cakes. The only thing I did different with this recipe was using half of the powder or confectioner's sugar for the icing. I have to watch my sugar and, carb intake, otherwise this is an excellent recipe for Red Velvet Cake! I also used my kitchen aid stand mixer instead of a hand mixer because I have so many varible speeds on my newer stand mixer. The proper room temperature of the butter and, cream cheese are very important, great tips Natasha!👍😎🧁🍨🎂🍰
