I made it for my friend’s birthday - did not put enough red colouring so it looks like a carrot cake lol. Took a longer time adding and mixing colours so the genoise did not rise as much but I managed to get 3 layers. Do not have the bigger tip in the video so thinking of finishing with smaller piping decorations with a few raspberries on top. Love your exact measurements and detailed video as always. I really like the taste of your cheese cream frosting!

Hi , Could you try to make the sacher torte in the future ? I have tried several recipes in the past but all of them were kind of dry . I wanted to taste again that awesome taste of vienna. Great recipe as usual.
This recipe is superb! But something I found out the hard way is that you really need to use the "correct" type of cream cheese. I was always using "Philadelphia" cream cheese, the one that comes in a small box. But this one is cream cheese to spread on bread for example. But I never found another type, so my cream cheese was always too runny to do a layered cake. Then a new shop opened in my village that had products from other places and they sold cream cheese in block size and not in that small box. When I read what's inside I saw that the amount of cheese of that one is way higher than the other one. So I used it to try out and now the result is that I can finally make a layered red velvet cake! 🙂

That looks delicious, I'm usually not keen on red velvet cos of the colour but I think I ll try this.. Whichever recipes of yours I've tried have been good.. I ll probably not make the microwave one, will be lazy and use a crumbled bit of the top layer to decorate..😀

This recipe is superb! But something I found out the hard way is that you really need to use the "correct" type of cream cheese. I was always using "Philadelphia" cream cheese, the one that comes in a small box. But this one is cream cheese to spread on bread for example. But I never found another type, so my cream cheese was always too runny to do a layered cake. Then a new shop opened in my village that had products from other places and they sold cream cheese in block size and not in that small box. When I read what's inside I saw that the amount of cheese of that one is way higher than the other one. So I used it to try out and now the result is that I can finally make a layered red velvet cake! 🙂
