Interesting that so many seem to struggle with the idea of making a video using only stock footage. I love this! I like shooting my own footage but this makes it so I don't even have to leave the house.
Haha seems ideal for you!
I learned video editing using only stock footage
That’s awesome!
Dunna Did It I got an idea for a video bro. It’s a 15 days editing challenge using only stock footage. I already made it, it improved my video editing skills by more than 50%.
Anyway love your content.
Is there any row and long footage for video editing
@@TaFfinTraVeLler pexels.com is the site I used and still use
it has a lot of stock photos/videos for totally free(donate to the creators, that'd be the best thing to thank them)
Same
I admire the fact that you’re always providing opportunities and challenges for your viewers. They have been helping me stay creative and motivated during this quarantine. Thank you!
Thats so great to hear Jade! I know its a tough time so I'm glad that some of these challenges help you keep creative!
inspired by limitations is such a good point. i loved all the school projects i had to do because of that. they were specific and it was way easier to be creative when there's certain limits put in place
Wow. My new mantra, "Limit your options," or "Create by limitation." Thank you for creating this.
Creativity thrives on limitations! Absolutely. Well made video. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
It actually shows how to create an impression of totally unrelated things being related. May come in handy.
This is exactly what I needed, I was so curious to know how to use stock photos and clips to make videos on youtube.
Excellent!
@@dunnadidit LOOKONG FORWARD TO STARTING IT
You definitely can, I think you did a great job and it's super tricky, but with enough patience and search imagination, you can find images that work perfectly with your sequence and not have to shoot a thing. It's been the COVID practice the past few months on many TV series I've worked on where shooting restrictions have been in place. I think producing with limitation is more in line with how you would work on a professional set/production so I'm ALL for experimenting with that.
Great video dude, I really liked this one!
Thanks dude!! Great point about how the limitations are more similar to a pro editing job, I hadn’t even thought of that!
Definitely Loved the Inspiration by limitations line. Best one ive heard as im an amateur filmmaker getting into Short Films and Movies ect. Its hard cause my mind scrambles with all types of wanting to do this and that and its mentally draining lol, Thanks.
OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!
Love it. I am a wanna be editor seeing the actual workflow is really helpful
The line "Limit your options" hit me hard ❤️👍🏻
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@dunnadidit really man, really appreciate your content ❤️
Omg, I love your crazy vibe!
A word that might be helpful if you are interested in the creative power of limitations is "ludology". I learned about this word in the study of video games, and ludology refers to the rules and limitations of the game world and the gameplay itself. I think ludology is so fascinating and it pertains to everything... When it comes to being creative, being completely boundless isn't always a good thing. Knowing what sandbox you're playing in gives you an idea of what game to play.
Awesome man ready for some sickass edit
Haha I went for more of a simple edit but I'm stoked for you to make yours!
It’s so simple yet so amazing and high quality. I wish i can get at least half this good ahah
This was fantastic!!
Damn
Lodidas🤣🤣
hows your journey so far, coz im also starting right now
@@graphicdesign117 hi i am starting in too , what do you think about getting in contact and help each others by exchanging knowledg and tips
Been there done that.💯💯💯
Thanks for your guidance, hope this can help lot of people including me, UA-cam is not only source of free entertainment but help to learn something new everyday. Thumbs up for youtube👍
Loved it !!
What a editing level!!!!
Love the concept of your entry! I entered an ad too, the videos submitted so far have all been amazing!
Thanks so much! I was pretty proud of my fake company and logo knockoff lol.
This is the first video challenge I've ever taken part of... Wish me luck! 😃
Good luck!!
@@dunnadidit Thanks man!
That awesome❤🔥
Tuff ute! I learned something 👍❤
Wow! Thanks
To be honest, i really really like your video editing style
I appreciate that!
I do this all the time. I love taking stock video and creating a video from that.
Lol I made a music video, CC music and non commercial stock footage. Wanted to see if my editing PC could handle 4K.
I like your way to explain the topics. It also look like that Artgrid have a very good way to search the different footage" I will try it out 😊🙏🏻
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thank You!
Beautiful
IM READY
well..i have been searching for a whole night just to figure out how to make a voice over and sync it with the video..and here taraaaaa...I found it..thanks Man..you are awesome..thanks for a great vlog...
Nice!
I tried making one for my video intro too it's fun! Thank you for sharing this.
Awesome!!
I'd say it's good, all the stock video clips are in the dark shade, so there are smooth transitions.
Insane ❤
Thanks!
This is one of the best ever!!
Thanks!!!
@@dunnadidit you are welcome
Hey what song did you use for this video! So refreshing! Keep up the great work!
That's was a really good video.. thanks for sharing your creativity..
Thanks for watching!
Inspired.
Dude this was a great video
Super solid! Never thought about going this route for a video!
Have fun with it!
The different videos from the same set caught my attention. interesting...thanks!
Yeah the "stories" feature is SOOOO SIIIICKK! Unbelievably helpful when trying to build a sequence.
Sick
Wow great talent ❤
Awesome!!
Thanks a ton!
Superb
What requirements would you recommend for a beginner laptop where mostly stock footage like this is being used?
Graphics card, RAM, processor, etc..
GREAT
Fantastic 😍😍😍😍😍
this is me and my current youtube posting situation . i have so much ideas and i cant concrete on one
Well hopefully that tactic helps!!
@@dunnadidit maybe i can put limits on what i put out so i work on one thing at a time. thanks
I made my channel intro with only stock footage, not exactly your level, but I'm sure its a good way to use stock footage ;-)
Thats awesome! Such a great Idea!
limiting option can work other creative work also, thanks man
This is how I learned
please teach us how to put dynamic substitle..thank you
I wish to know where can I hire professional editors in order to create a professional ad for my brand by using stock videos from artgrid and music from artlist?
Very useful video! Thank you very much! Big hug from a Spanish dancer in Mumbai! 🙏🏼
I’m glad it was helpful!!
Does anybody know were can I find more video contests? I would apreciate your help!
what music did you use for the video that you made?
It's actually crazy how you reply on every comment here.
I’m actually crazy 🤪
@@dunnadidit haha
My whole channel is made using stock footage and nocopyright music. The problem is I don't know if this material is monetizable on youtube.
I've had someone on reddit telling me it's not original enough or have enough transformative spin so it will be considered reused content by youtube. (Then he said he wasn't sure meh!)
Would of been nice to know about this 10 days ago when it started....but I will try anyway...thanks :-)
Have fun with it!
Wow this video was helpful 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
If we use this artgrid is that no copyright content?
I LIKE!!
how did u write on screen while doing it live on tablet (app)?please @me
Limit your options to inspire your creativity by scrolling through nearly unlimited songs and clips for hours. Haha, I kid, I kid. But I did chuckle when you said "I don't want to show a shelf of records for too long if the idea is to limit your options."
But the key was you had a vision in mind and a story you wanted to tell ahead of time and you were able to significantly narrow down your search. Otherwise, yeah, these services, at least for me (I sub to both AL and AG), can feel like rabbit holes, or, to keep with the analogy, sifting aimlessly through records in the store as opposed to [cut to single record being pulled] really honing in on and enjoying the one you truly want.
It's the same thing with services like Spotify. Unlimited music at our fingertips, yet the most important feature of all is good curation, be it via algorithm or humans. Or, better yet, choose the cohesive sum that it is the entire album rather than just a disparate track (the best part about owning records, for me).
Meanwhile, my great hypocrisy is that I'm one of these idiots who effectively collects gear and gets overwhelmed when it comes time to make sense of it all. And then I go and have a great time making a dumb 30-second humor piece with just my iPhone and I'm thrilled.
So, this obnoxious essay (particularly this sentence) notwithstanding, the spirit of what you're saying is true. At least for me. It really is the constraints that move the needle (ugh) most significantly for me.
I loved everything about this comment and I thoroughly appreciate that you took the time out of your day to take me on this journey with you 😂 cheers!!
How do you edit the stock videos?
That´s awesome
Thanks!
This is so cool, Do you have any ideas for things I could use to practice editing videos?
Try looking for something like "rainy day" or something!
All my videos are 100% stock footage (including Creative Commons footage) and stock music. I've been doing that for about a year or so. I do full length music videos and mock versions of film trailers, commercial spots and TV promos. I also did a 15 minute Artlist promo that's 100% stock footage. Yeah, they got me, and as you've probably noticed, everyone on UA-cam with a film related channel to plug them.
Currently, I mostly use Filmpac and Artgrid, but I also have subscriptions for Storyblocks and Envato Elements. If everything you do is stock video based, you can't have too much. The key is to have a large selection and learn what's in the catalogs. There is some cross over between Storyblocks and Elements due to non-exclusive contributors, but I mainly use them fro filler when I can't find something from Filmpac or Artgrid. I'm not sure if I'll enter the Artgrid contest. I'm still learning, plus I suspect they'll be looking for flashly transitions and non-traditional edits. That's cool for UA-cam, but not my style. No way I'll win any of the big prizes. We'll see...
That’s awesome that it’s something you’re familiar with!! Have fun in the contest!
Hello Alexa DM, I've just visited your channel and it has lots of great content! Question for you. I've jumped back to creating UA-cam videos but this time around I'll be creating a new channel and the content will be more like "Top 10 facts etc" quick 5 to 10 minute videos. I've notice that my skills are taking a while to jump back to FCPX, PS, Premier and AE and I'm wondering how long it should take me to produce such videos. Where you have to create the content, go find the media (Envato for me) audio, and any special graphic element (Motion infographics) Titles, audio rings, etc etc. and yes editing all this in FCPX? I"m asking around to see if I need to outsource some of these various production task so as to cut down on the production time. any input will be greatly appreciated. thank you
Heyy do you get paid cz u've surpassed 1k subs?
It was really helpful. Wonderful work brother.
From Josh.
that beat at the end was dope. Who was that?? Where did you get it
I make most of my short vids using only stock footage but I mostly get them from wevideo a editing software for pc the software offers free stock footage i use them for my short facts videos
Hey ! What's your monitor please ? Thanks :D
what app did you use to edit this
Hi, can you help me? I'm trying to find a video and photo library that I can use for my story videos, I need it to contain quite a few story videos. I don't care if I need to pay for it. 🤔🤔
Did you upload your voice over to artgrid and do all the editing/clip combination on the artgrid site, then download the completed product? Or do you have to piecemeal it by downloading the clips you want and putting it all together with the voice over on your own editing software?
I didn’t even know artgrid had that capability to be honest. I always just download the clips I need and edit them together in my own software.
Great video
Sounds fun...cool idea! :)
It was a fun challenge for sure!
Dunna Did It - you should do your own using stock footage (that you pick) and music and let your followers win something. :p
That's a neat idea!
Pretty cool, I did one too, was super fun 🔥
Noice!
That was great!! What editing software are you using?
Davinci Resolve
Amazing! What software, program did you use to edit?
Davinci resolve
🔥
How long did it take you to make the whole thing?
I read some comments of youtubers complaining about getting copyright claim and strike for using royalty-free pictures and videos from websites like Pexels, pixabay etc., I even saw some videos saying that they got copyright claim and strike for using royalty-free stock footages from Pexels. I don't understand something. If something (which was created by other) can't be used in our video even after giving credit to the owner, why websites like Pexels are showcasing pictures and videos on their platforms as royalty free and allowing users to download? Please suggest a way to new youtubers like me to make a video much more interesting with stock footages without getting copyright claim / strike. Is there any website that we can use stock footages without getting copyright claim / strike?
I'm a new sub here, great content.
Thanks so much!!
Great video. I don't see what program you're using to edit your video? Thanks.
I primarily use Davinci resolve.
Good edit
Thanks!
So what is it you're using to write onto the video like that? Where can I get something like that for my videos? Curious.
I might do a tutorial on it but basically, I put a green background on my iPad and then screen record and write on it using procreate. Then just pull out the green screen like you would any other time.
@@dunnadidit The effect is just coooooool. I like that and thanks for responding. I think I'll subscribe. Thx.
Insirational ;)
Are there any musicians or music producers here? Does anyone ever check voice overs for key matching/harmony to the background music?
u deserve my sub.
You deserve my thanks
Very nice
Cheers!!
I need,a website that gives stock videos with audio in them
HOLY $H!T. Lol. This video was amazing in more ways than I rather babble about in a comment but I must say this … this was the video I NEEDED & was looking for. Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching!
So do i have to actually subscribe to this stock footage site? I would like to partake in the contest but every time i click on find footage it just brings up a blank screen. Can i sign up for a free trail and still download the footage/music or i do need to sign up for the service?
Yes you can partake if you sign up for the free trial!
@@dunnadidit it seems like you still gotta pay to use their services. I was hoping it would be a free service trail period, sucks because this seemed like a fun contest to do
Weird, I’d reach out to them if you can. I actually asked them about this and they confirmed that they had a free trial and that you could enter the contest with it
noiceee
