Your tutorials are the clearest and most informative I've seen so far in my search for easy enough instructions to teach my granddaughter (I have to learn this myself first! lol) Thank you...they are most appreciated!!!
Susie Annei Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words and they mean a lot to me. I started doing videos last year hoping to help people learn. It's really helped me having something that I can do for stress relief. I am happy to help you with any questions you have. You can learn. :-) How old is your granddaughter? 😀
Another great video, Gina. What a fun project! I think your work is terrific with a nice, simple but beautiful look. Your choice of yarn is excellent. Things don't have to be complicated to be beautiful and your work proves that. Thank you for sharing your videos with us.
Patty, I’m sorry I never got this notification 4 years ago. 😞But Thank you! This is such a sweet message! 🙏♥️ Thank you for being here!! I appreciate your kind words.
Thank you for the instructional video. I'm about to embark on a mission to make my first pair of leg warmers and I that wouldn't have been possible with out you. Have a great day.
Jennifer Rankin You are very sweet! 💕Thank you for the kind words! I can't wait to see your leg warmers! Feel free to post a picture on The Mom Writer on Facebook! 😊👍

Thank you for the video, I've never made leg warmers and it's Autumn here in Australia, great present for our new step grand daughters they will love them! Glad I could find something I could made for them, I've been making a lot of things for our new baby grand daughter :)
Please please put a clear shot of the finished article at the start of your videos so then I'd know if it was what I was looking for. This is the only criticism I have as I find your instructions clear and easy to follow x Just a picture of the finished product is all I ask please 🙏
I made my daughter some leg warmers for Christmas and I’m so excited to give them to her!! I was so excited that I was able to do this! Your video was so helpful! Thank you! Do you have any suggestions on how loom knit a small child’s size ballet shrug?
I’m so sorry I never received this message last year. 😞 I just wanted to say thank you for the kind words! 🙏♥️ I hope your daughter loved her leg warmers. ❤️❤️
Thank you Karyna! ♥️ I appreciate you being here! I also wanted to let you know I started a new channel of easy recipes and I would love if you would join me there too if that interests you! It’s brand new!
Hi Gina I am not sure I did it right. I did: row 1 e wrap row 2 knit stitch row 3 purl row 4 purl row 5 purl row 6 purl row 7 purl row 8 knit stitch row 9 knit stitch row 10 e wrap
@@GinaLay Thank you. Also what size of loom do you use for kids? Could you use a 36 for adults? How long is the leg warmers you made? What about baby hats I am trying to make a hat for a 1 month old and I tried using the 31 but it is way to small
Do these work as wrist warmers Great video Also when you put take the top loop and grab the bottom loop and push it over where do you start it is at the beginning or the one before the first
I use a 24 peg to loom knit socks and they fit my legs perfect. I use a 12 peg to make kids socks. So I think I would use a 24 peg for adult leg warmers...
Nice leg warmers. So you didn't talk about the yarn size. It looks like you're using a chunky yarn? If I wanted to use a size 4 yarn would I do double strands? Also how stretchy is thee knit/purl cuff? I am making a pair for a friend and she has large legs. Please advise and thank you.
Hello Blanca! I have the pattern written out on my blog at this link. www.themomwriter.com/2016/02/easy-loom-knit-leg-warmers.html I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have anymore questions. :-)
I started with just a e wrap stitch before I found this video. Can I add a cuff? How do I do that? If I dont will it just b slouchier? Love the colour of yarn u used. My father in law made my daughter a set of leg warmers slippers and a toque. I was so jealous. My leg warmers will only b grey.
I notice that you go to the left from your start peg. I was wondering if going to the right is wrong? I have always gone to the right and Im not sure if I can teach myself to go to the left! Thank you for the amazing video. I have been wanting to do a project like this and the Video is so helpful!
I should probably let Gina answer this, but I'll plunge in and see if anyone argues! Short answer: it doesn't matter. Longer: When you complete an e-wrap pass your working yarn will be on the right side of the last peg. Before releasing your hold on the working yarn, you must secure it by knitting over on that last peg. Once you've done that, you can go either way. Gina always continues going to the left, but I've seen others who go to the right after having secured the working yarn. To me (as though I KNOW something! lol) it makes sense to go left since the first knit-over MUST be to the left in order to secure the working yarn --- may as well just keep going that way. But the other method is also correct.
Hi Leah, When you start to cast off you knit the first two pegs. After that, you knit the the one to the left and continue binding off. I hope that helps. :-)
@@GinaLay so binding off to the left, I knit the 1st 2 and then those are the ones I start with taking off moving to right then knit and move to empty peg to the left?
Hi, i love this pattern. I was asked to do a thigh high and am having a horrible time doing this. I believe your pattern could work. I did a tube sock in loom knit which started this request. I am stuck at the thigh. Any suggestions? I would truly, truly appreciate any ideas. Thank you. Carol.
Hi Ms. Lay, I am using a purple adjustable square knit loom now. I was using a 30 peg loom. I like the plastic looms better. The square loom spacing is too close.
You probably already figured it out, but Gina said she used 24 pegs for this project (for her daughter) but that she would use 31 if doing it for herself. I have both an X and Y chromosome and am thinking 36 pegs for myself. This would be a pretty good beginner project, I think, because it doesn't require heels (socks) or holes (dog sweaters). It does use a variety of stitches, so I'd at least have to stay awake! And count rows!
My loom is round with 36 pegs. Would that be too big for thigh high leg warmers (and my legs are quite slim)? You mentioned 31 pegs for adult size. I am very new to this. Any suggestions would help. Also can you do ribbing with alternating knit one, purl one every other stitch?
Hi I use to have problems with slip most too, I ended up learning by watching a step by step UA-cam video on how to do one, if you haven't tried that there are a lot of great teaching ones on here. Front give up you will get it
thank you for your help. I am trying to make a few things for a craft fair. I am working on a kids leg warmer right now I will send pictures when I am done. I am following your video to make it.

+Thecanadianwitch I would definitely try. I don't think it would make too much of a difference and you could always fold the top over if needed. :) Thank you for watching my video! Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions! :)
I do u wrap ...makes a tighter fit but I like the way it looks better. Did this on the 24 peg a little too snug so know I'm going to do it on 31 peg and should be ok. 😁 What did you end up doing?
Gina Lay I started years ago but I didn't do it so often. I don't have facebook but my smallest loom is 24 pegs (13,5 cm) and I also have a loom that's 31 pegs (18 cm)
What is the peg size for this project? I have 3/8” loom set for finer gauge. How many sts would I need to loom knit adult leggings in worsted weight? Thanks
i was wondering if i use 2 skeins of 4 medium, would i still use a 31 peg loom or do i have to get then next size loom ( what would be the next size loom for this ).
I'm sorry, for some reason this is just showing up now. :( Have you been able to fix it? If you'd like you can post a picture on my Facebook page The Mom Writer and I can take a look for you. 💜

hello, I am currently making these for my grandmother. I am confused on the order of the rows. I looked at your written instructions, and they don't match the video. So when you start, it is the e-wrap, then the knit stitch, followed by the pearl stitch (do these first knit and pearl rows count as one of the 5 for the cuff? or starting with the next knit and pearl?)
Kristen Ollerton Hello, thank you for your question. After the ewrap cast, it's one row of Knit and one row of purl that count as one of the five rows. I hope this helps! :)
That yarn is beautiful! Will you please tell me what kind it is? You don't give the name but I would really like to get some like that. Thank you for your video
Hi Amanda Spencer, For a baby leg warmer I recommend using a smaller loom and about 5 or so inches in length. I hope that helps. :-) Welcome to loom knitting and I will help in whatever way I can. 👍

Hi Liberty Benedict! I just posted a picture of the finished leg warmer on my Facebook page The Mom Writer for you to see. Are you looking at the video on your phone or computer?
Video at 15' 15'' shows casting off. Two pegs already empty, but the casting off is the same all the way until the last stitch when you cut the working yarn and pass it through the last loop as you remove it from the peg.

I use a 24 peg to loom knit socks and they fit my legs perfect. I use a 12 peg to make kids socks. So I think I would use a 24 peg for adult leg warmers...
so for an adult, would I use my next size up, which is 31 peg?
My question is you would use 24 peg for a kid leg warmer so do you use the 31 peg for adults leg warmers.
Yes, depending how big you need it, that would be the next size.:)♥️
When you get down to your ankles don't it supposed to get skinny or or just the whole way with that
It stays the same size and stretches 💕

What round loom do you use for a adult to make legg warmers
Would the 24pegs be ok for baby ❤️xx
I have not made these for a baby so I am unsure. I’m sorry. ♥️♥️♥️

hello, I am currently making these for my grandmother. I am confused on the order of the rows. I looked at your written instructions, and they don't match the video. Video at 15' 15'' shows casting off. Two pegs already empty, but the casting off is the same all the way until the last stitch when you cut the working yarn and pass it through the last loop as you remove it from the peg.
Can not see what you are doing.
