    I have been a factory trained sterilizer service rep for over thirty years. One thing to remember is that water boils at a lower temp the higher your altitude. 212F at sea level, 190F in Denver.You add 3/4 pound of pressure for each 1000 feet of altitude. Because you cannot increase your pressure in a pressure cooker, you must extend your sterilization time. An extra 10 to 15 min is usually good.

    Not having enough doe to keep getting the good stuff, but listen up..you CANNOT EVER see the full potential of you tattooing skills if you guys cheap out here. I am not saying run out and buy a 500 doallr machine and expect just the machine to produce bad ass art, but what I am saying is you are ONLY as good as your tool allows you to be. No worries, I will have a section on my website for you guys who can't afford it-I will call it "The broke ass corner" ahha. It took a LONG time for me to

    This is the same system as used in hospitals. 60 years ago my grandmother was a nurse in a hospital central supply and I saw her using the autoclave to sterilize equipment. I found this video because I picked up a all American 25x electric autoclave to resell. I thought it was a canner pressure cooker.. it's not. They sell new for over $900.00 they are not toys from children to play with. That being Said and reading these comments I realize the mentality of people doing a high % of tattooing. Down right Stupid. I feel for the person as young lady's who just think they will just go get one and it's safe! BS ITS A CRAP SHOOT! I've worked in the railroad yards for decades and seen the deranged thinking scrolled across boxcars
    It's not art it's mindless expression of rage! Whow!

    In terms of actually cleaning the tips tubes and grips as well as using bottle brushes green soap etc, I managed to buy an ultrasonic cleaning bath from amazon. Fairly cheap but makes a massive difference to getting ink, shit, muck and bullets off your equipment PRIOR to sterilisation. Obviously the Ultrasonic DOES NOT sterilise, but boy does it make a difference to cleaning. Tubes etc that look clean still give up ink and shit when run through the Ultrasonic. Good Video Dude, thanks as always.

    So you're saying you use old needles on yourself. So basically you scar yourself with old worn needles? I personally check my needle points frequently throughout the tattoo process to insure no needle wear. The last thing you want are the needles to be cutting into the dermis. You need a very fine small poke hole that stretches open and then closes back up when the needle leaves. Slices don't close

      xHottDawgx like I said... basically you want me to sit here and explain to you what the moral was? Here is what you should focus on. ...what your doing. I'm not a dumb person, nor have I ever reused any needle on someone...I always have the best quality products and follow every sanitary and sterile process possible if and when I tattoo. The moral was about sterilizing and the fact that it could be done, technically. See, since you want a deeper explanation. ..back in the day this is how it was done, when there weren't a thousand supply companies to order from already pre made and sterilized. Why in the hell would anyone reuse when they are 30 bucks a box of 50...see, watch the rest of my videos or their full length...then you might understand this entire thing and realize then why all the famed kats know who I am and why my name pops up under the Google search bar 3x... ;) Have a good one and happy sinking....

    Deo, your wrong. Your taking the "Avg" you read off of the net. Actually, factually, ANYTHING is STERILIZED at 235° want to get really technical. How do I inow this? Doctors in the fam that have their employees sterilize their utensils DAILY! I have even helped on MANY occasion. So, "little kids" shouldnt be tattooing #1, if they are well they will have more than just a "leg amputated " AND when the indicator strips turn color, your GOOD! So dont come on here acting like you know something

  • @KageYacha
    @KageYacha  11 років тому

    @Imso, you can use a sandwich baggie, just leave the seal open to allow steam. Also, yeah any pressure cooker will work. Its steam, pressure and heat, so anything that can achieve these three things will work. Make sure to get something with a gauge though. If not, you will never know. Good to buy either sanitation tape or the baggies though, the indicators let you know when sterilization has been reached. Without those, your just guessing. It really not as big deal as these shop bullshitters

  • @KageYacha

    1Ric, what kind do you have? What size? Electric or stove? Did you grease the sides? What type of water you using? EVERY PART OF TATTOOING HAS ITS LITTLE SECRETES AND WELL KNOWN WAYS THAT ARE KEPT FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC. If you are using tap water-WRONG, not greasing the rim-WRONG, electric-Longer ratios, what wattage is your stove? Flame or electric? Steel wire type or ceramic? I mean EVERYTHING HAS TO DO WITH EVERYTHING IN THIS BUSINESS, this is why over 70% of "Scratchers" fail-Kage

  • @KageYacha
    @KageYacha  11 років тому

    Once the steam starts "blowing", where can hear and see it, you are ready to shut the valve and begin timing. All the valve open/steam does is let you know that your ready for pressure/heat buildup. Time its left spewing out doesn't have any impact on beginning the sterilization process. Your gauge temps and pressure determine correct osmosis, and the start of the cycle. So, no it doesnt matter, its just something they throw in as a "general rule". You have sterilization packs/tape?

  • @KageYacha

But if you guys don't believe me, keep tatting with those chinese machines..AT LEAST change the coils, know whateye mean? for real lol! Only sayiung this because I too was a victim here! anyways, stay tuned, I am getting to work today hard and will have some posted. The close up tat vid should be ready by today!

    -cont- if the process and correct combination was reached. When the strip turns from blue to brow, the correct pressure as well as heat AND time, was achieved. You will absolutely need to purchase sterilization tape. I will get you the best price...send that over and I will look see. These are not cheap! Just like everything in this business, do NOT cheapie out of stuff. I get allot of you guys telling me "Well I can't afford" 200-300 dollar machines. Ok, well then save up. I totally understand

  • @KageYacha
    @KageYacha  11 років тому

    Ok, I will look see. Now, lets look at what it takes. It takes a constant pressure of 7-12 PSI, sometimes pushed to 18 and a sustained level of 220 to 252 degrees F. This will be held for 25-30 mins at this pressure and temp. The extreme importance here is that the temp reaches beyond boiling point, the pressure and heat combined is what kills bacterium as well as virus! This you WILL need to do! Get "test strips" or Sterilization packages like I am using here. These strips will let you know-

    Awesome video, just as a note the indicator strip does not indicate sterilization just that the desired temp has been reached. The tape will turn when the temps been reached but the process still needs 20 plus minutes. Good shit though on getting this info out. As a student studying biomedical engineering, I do not have enough room to explain the importance of this.

    Someone below said boiling in hot water for 3 min would kill everything, I would have to disagree. First off there are air pockets that will prevent water from penitrating the nooks n crannies, "crevices" in ur equipment...so that's 1 thumbs down...n most people know that boiling it for only 3 minutes will not kill everything...so 2 thumbs down for the comment below.

    I AN ALL AMERICAN 1915X STOVE TOP..I PUT DISTILLED..I FOLLOWED YOUR VID. I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT...ITS JUST THAT IN YOUR VID. YOU DIDNT EXPLAIN HOW LONG YOU SHOULD LET STEAM COME OUT BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE VALVE. IN THE MANUAL IT SAYS 7 MIN.I WAS WONDERING WHY YOUR PRESSURE GAUGE RISES FASTER THAN MINE WHEN YOU CLOSE THE VALVE AND IF THE LONGER YOU LET STEAM COME OUT THE FASTER YOU WILL REACH THE STERILIZATION PERIOD...THANKS

  • @1lrico
    @1lrico 11 років тому

    I THINK YOU MISUNDERSTOOD ME... I WANTED TO KNOW IF WAITING A LITTLE LONGER BEFORE SHUTTING YOUR VALVE WOULD RAISE THE PRESSURE GAUGE FASTER THAN SAY SHUTTING IT AS SOON AS YOU SEE STEAM COMING OUT....THE REASON I ASK IS BCUZ I SEE THAT IN YOUR VIDEO AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE YOUR VALVE THE TEMP. RISES PRETTY FAST AND ON MINE IT GOES PRETTY SLOW.

      ***** exactly. The reason (Shops) buy Autoclaves and not a pressure cooker is because of the setting. You aren't going to wait to turn on an element and WATCH the process. The AUTOCLAVES are just that..AUTO. But you can't tell subpar human beings a thing, they will argue no matter what the fact is-M1

I'm sure that heat will not effect the SOLDER around the needles. You sir are an idiot. The reason why I have so much business. So keep fucking up skin and giving people hep. Just makes my pockets fatter. Your pathetic.

      Elias Mora bo you dont no didly , you can not expain the difference can you . i thought as much, i asked you to explain the difference between the 2
      and you cant even do that damn your so ugly 😉 by the way i dont even tattoo at the moment never touched a machine in my life im goin to tho but i would not chuck needles in pressure cooker i will get disposables . its the adjustable grip is all i will be cleaning. im getting a sabre air rotary. what fo you think about the sabre brand then ? xx

      The difference is bacteria in food dies a in lower temp then bacteria found on or in your body. Bacteria in humans has evolved to live in humans. Bacteria in food is just floating around doing it's things. Human bacteria is meant to survive medication, fever temp, surrounding temp etc. So nothing that kills food bacteria will kill human bacteria. Don't believe me? Then take a blood bourne and pathogens class fuck face. As far as you getting a sabre you'll get cheap chinese knockoffs. Real companies dont sell unless you work at a shop. So if you found it online and they didnt ask what shop you worked at. It's fucking fake. Like you. Thats the issue with you tattooing at home fucking idiot you cant get the same supplies I do. You get inferior thats why you scratchers charge less and do crappy work. An a fucking pressure cooker like that cost more then an autoclave you fucking idiot. You've never touched a machine and think you know more then me??? Your a fucking idiot respect the people who've been doing this longer and you might learn something. Keep being a fucking idiot who reads shit online and thinks hes a genius. And if your getting disposable needles buy disposable tubes you fuck boy. Stop being cheap. Your about to be invading peoples body and your gonna cut cost??? Because you want to half ass it like this guy??? This fuck head doesnt even make these videos anymore. He gave up!!! All he said he was gonna do, and he hasnt done shit. Think before you open your stupid mouth next time.

    Thank you for posting this video!!! I was dreading having to come up with $1500 for an autoclave. Just a quick question... where did you get the sterilization pouches/ what brand are they??? They seem like a good thing to invest in.

    Simple cheap pan with boiling water with a lot of hot bubles will kill everything after 3min, you can spray with antibacterial sanitizer afterwards, but you are safe.
