I learned how to sterilize with an autoclave 40 years ago when I went to embalming school.Glad to see that the tattoo industry is hands on with autoclaving because of all the nasty bacteria and diseases that can be transferred without proper sterilization! Thanks for making the video to show how to sterilize equipment properly!

Use *an aluminum bread rack to give yourself two layers, bro. You'll be able to do more items at once (they're round and have "legs" that come down in a D shape).

Great video as ever, the topic is really important since there are not so many videos about it. What do you think about using only chemical sterilisation or chemical + UVC?

Would you recommend other types of autoclaves? or is this the best type on the market?

      That’s a great question!
I would say go for what is going to get the task at hand accomplished correctly within a budget 1 can afford. Autoclaved can be very expensive, as this one I am using is more in the affordable end.
My goal is to combine heat, steam and pressure for sterilization. This little autoclave I use does the trick and is effective at doing what I need it to do. I would say it’s good for private to small studio use but let’s say if it was a larger studio where there is a larger demand of clients we’d want something that can house more than this so we can get more sterilized per round.
Is it the best or best type on the market ?
I wouldn’t say anything is ever the best but more so best for what you need to do on your end. I feel it all comes down to what our needs are.
As long as the elements such as adequate pressure and heat are present we will get to where we are going. I would make certain the autoclave I get reaches desired temperatures, pressures and all of the specifics mentioned in the video prior to purchase. I hope this can shed some light for you.

Doesn't matter what autoclave you get? .... I've seen auto clays for as low as 40 bucks I've seen him as high as a couple grand. What autoclave is actually recommended or the best use for sterilizing the equipment?

Hello Daniel! I have bought a tattoo machine from dragonhawk (mast ancher) and it has a metalic disposible grip. Is it super necessary to buy autoclave or Dry heat machine, or is it posible to cleat it and wrap it properly with out getting in to trouble? thank you~!

If you’re reusing the grip you need to autoclave it after using it. If you’re using a new one everytime just throw it out after each use

@@mikezaimis I don’t have access to an autoclave so I use disposable grips. Not sure what a dry heat machine is, but you can look into chemical sterilizers like Optim CS 20 if you’re dead set on reusable grips. I’m no expert so you’d have to find out for yourself if they’d be effective enough.

@@evanmackay7368 i think am gona keep my desposable...just they are a bit expensice for my machine. i think dry heat is a good option for the grip, you just put it inside and leave it for 30 minutes to 70 celsius. Of course you have to clean it again. Some tattoo artist just clean the grip properly and wrap it also. and they work fine. Any way, thanks man. keep up art

I’m seeing a lot of contradicting statements amongst the tattoo community regarding claving and cold sterilization. I’ve ordered an autoclave to sterilize. But what about properly wrapped pen machines using membrane cartridges? is it necessary to use an autoclave? Do you feel with a product like Cavicide the result is enough to steer away from an autoclave?
