This was great, I’ve been T1D for almost 15 years and I was never taught the formulas to calculate carb ratios or sensitivity factor. thank you ! 💙
can you please kindly tell me your daily insulin dose
I’ve been t1d for 26 years and nobody has ever explained this to me!! Thank you so Much!!! My settings on my pump were off… no surprise there. Where did the standard 1700 & 500 come from?
thank you,
this video helped me a lot!!!
After 39 years of being T1. This is some useful information
Dammit my math teacher was right. I would use the stuff one day
Yup
Very useful Jazz. Incredible service to the society
Thank you for the support Dr. Jothy
I love this video. It's not simple at all but you explain it so well it makes it much easier to understand. Thank you so much.
Just what I needed to see! Beautiful job explaining correction calculations . 👍👍thank you-thank you-thank you!
Thank you so much for explaining in such a easy way 😊
Oh my god that was easy. Thanks!
wah! Amit sir will be sooo proud of you duggi :-))))
Good video, new to pump. Thank you.
Very clear explanation in a simple way👏👏... Thank you
Very informative video, thanks
Woah , didnt knew mathematics can actually be someone's savior 😅 Great going warrior !!
HAhaha calculator zindabaad ;)
Great job girl 👏🏻
what are those constants 1700 and 500
thank you for sharing your knowledge i am 3 yrs suffering of diabetes now ,, i need a clarification where did you get the 1 unit is = to 34 ? this is given or what?
Hi my endocrinologist says I can’t correct without meal, only with meal? some of them say different things just confuses me
Insulin to carb ratio changes from meal to meal
That looks really useful! Are you able to show how this is done for mmol/L as well?
Will make a video on that soon
Diabesties1 That would be great, thanks!
what does the 1700 represent and where do you get that number
I just asked that exact question. I see she hasn’t responded to you.
Where did you get the 1700?
Do you determine your sensitivity after 2 hours of administering insulin?
Pls make video how to use insulin pump
Will do!
The 1700 rule or 1800 rule is only a guess. This is almost as bad as using a sliding scale for MDI. And this doesn't even address the fact that the higher your Bg is the MORE insulin that will be required. But sure it's a starting point. So, well explained for that purpose.
Does anyone know if this formula is also good for children?thanks
I have type 1 diabetes and I daily take the insulin injections 4 times but I m don't understand how I calculate insulin according to my body weight and according to suger plz help hw will I adjust it
My doctor suggested me to take Human Mixtard insulin by injectable pens, how can i calculate for this type ??
Bhai mixtard ki jagah regular insulin lo.....regular short acting insulin hai...wo khana khaane se pehle lii jati hai
We would like locomotive not bullet train. No signals no stoppings. In our language We call it DADA DADA BADA BADA!!! How ever enthusiasm is appreciated.
When do you give correction dose? 2 hrs after meal?
If its NovoRapid / Humalog / Apidra then 2 hrs after meal and for Actrapid or regular insulin 3 hrs after meal and in both the conditions blood sugar level is above 180 mg/dl.
@@Diabesties1 thank you
would have been nice to see you BG 3 or 5 hours after this correction
What's is 1700 in the calculation???
How to make health
Are we sure about ISF... because insulin sensitivity is different for everyone and can't be derived by standard numbers...I mean we must put in formula how body is reacting to insulin.. example 50 units of insulin may not bring down sugars to same level in two different ppl..
I take 10 units of insulin a day which means my ISF is 170?
Isf is 1700/TID or 1500/TID?
It depends on which insulin you are using. If you are on Human insulin means Actrapid / Insulin R/ Regular Insulin, it is 1500/TDD and if you are on analogue insulin like NovoRapid / Apidra / Humalog / Fiasp, it is 1700/TDD.
P
What is bolus??? Zayan takes novorapid only
bolus is rapid acting that you take before meals. and basal is a long acting insulin that you take either once or twice a day ..
How can your 2.5 units of insulin will reduce your sugar levels, as ur insulin is sufficient enough for ur meals...??🤔
its a CORRECTION dose.. which means its not for a meal :)
Then, what kind of insulin do you use ??
@@venkatmanikrishna2201 you would still use your fast acting insulin to correct your BG number, so humalog, novolog, apidra etc
@@Diabesties1 hi so after your rapid nova insulin and 3 hours later still showing high you can use another rapid nova to correct it with this formula?
@@SidneyXda yup!
Ain't it 1500
1700 for those above 10 yrs
@@qagsuarm where do y’all get that number from

This is not very simple sometimes instead of all calculations there are shocking results 😢
