It's so wild watching you go to my local GC and SamAsh, im so lucky to have two solid stores basically next to each other.
As a South Jersey boy, I go to those two guitar spots all the time. I just have to be careful now if I see you there that my boss doesn't catch me on camera when I should be working.

My home town, Cherry Hill NJ! Sam Ash has been there for decades but G.C only the last 15-20 years. Its awesome to have two music shops in the same strip!

Esp arming adjuster is an easy add to that floyd, stabilizes perfectly for double stops and switching to drop d, and you maintain the ability (although stiffer) pull up on the bar. You lose the "flutter" effect. I put one in one of my charvels in about 20 minutes and it cost less than $40 on Bezos mart

Not sure about the others but when it comes to stainless steel frets, Strandberg and Ibanez AZ immediately comes to my mind. Have not owned one of those, but really a dream guitar for me. Keep up the cool content as always!💪
If SS frets are really that important to you, Music Man is worth a look. They make the best production instruments imo.

Love that song playing while you're in guitar center...Ive noticed the older I get the more I get away from pointy/sharp styles guitars.I guess since a MiM fender strat was my first.Thats what I've been gravitating back towards.Just with hss pickups🤘😜👍
I also find myself getting more interested in fenders. They have a certain fight to them that I don’t get with my more modern guitars but feel very rewarding to play. Just picked up a used mod shop fiesta red strat with a big ol 70s headstock!
I heard some Third Stone From the Sun riffs. I love that ! I was in college in Austin in '81 and saw Stevie Ray play that at a frat party. Love your stuff,..its been a daily pleasure for a while.

I got a old fender Starcaster in silverburst it was the first guitar that fender made that ever had silverburst. It’s really cool.
I got a Kirk Douglas SG earlier this year and I came THIS CLOSE to sending it back to Sweetwater for that exact Fender Luxe because it's just bad ass and a US Fender with SS frets man. God I still want it lol!

I have a USA Adrian Smith Jackson 2021 ebony fretboard model and i cant put her down i love it. Now im thinking about buying an Ultraluxe stratocaster, i love superstrats. They look and sound awesome.
I went to guitar center here in Rockville MD. It was so much bigger than the store that just opened in Augusta a few years ago but everything was tidy and put away. There was however not a single employee on the floor helping at all. There were a couple Ltds I was seriously considering but I went and asked twice and still no joy. I’m going to check a few new places here while I’m in MD until next Friday.
I bought my last guitar a few weeks ago at Sam Ash and from Butch. Great guy and excellent customer service!
They offer the Luxe Stratocsster in Silverburst without the Floyd online. I'm thinking about ordering it myself !

There are a bunch of sam ash in jersey. Used go deliver right behind one in Northern jersey. Yet never stopped.
We do enjoy your guitar hunting videos, but we would like to see you visit more privately owned or mom and pop stores vs the big corporate big boxes.
Fender done an American Professional HSS strat in silverburst a few years back but it had an ebony fingerboard and has a shawbucker in the bridge with some trick 250k/500k volume pot, might be something to look out for?? Another option for the silverburst. I think it also has the 42.8mm nut, so more Gibson than Fender if that's your thing

Just got one last week in a different color. Loving it so far.
The floyd can be blocked if it bothers you that much. But, I'd say if the only reason you have for stepping up from the player plus to the lux is the stainless frets you should just hold off. It'll be a long time before you burn through the frets and you can always have it refretted with stainless down the road.
Try a G&L Doheny. You may or may not like them . Offset body . US model has humbuckers and the Tribute import has some cool single coils. Love Cherry Hill NJ GC. Scored a sweet Schecter Korina V there.

As much as you love Gibson, I can see you becoming a Fender artist more. I wouldn't be surprised if you ever got a signature Jazzmaster Baritone someday

With the prices of guitars these days, Ray you could build your DREAM guitar with places like warmouth, musikraft, KNE, USA Custom (who merged with MJT). You seem like you could bolt and solder your way to your dream axe

I legit live around the block from the Cherry Hill Mall. But the Franklin Mills one is the best Sam Ash in my book.

Dude you went all the way over there and didn't hit Total Wine? Just kidding LOL. I traded my Marshall Valvestate stack for a DSL50 and 1936 cab back in '07 at that Sam Ash. Ha, that guy in the background "at a certain point, do pickups even matter?" and "I wouldn't buy an Epiphone" LOL, gotta love guitar store chatter, all the smarty pants and the "everyone look at how smooth my sweep picking is" folks crack me up. That GC has a blue 12-String Guild cutaway over there right now, I may have to get over there tonight or tomorrow and get my Halloween shopping done over at Spirit
You could just get a Warmoth neck for that thing with stainless steel frets, ebony board with block inlays and also get a pearl pickguard for it.

I've been playing them at my local store and I've never been a strat guy but these player plus guitars are money. I need me a single coil guitar all mine are humbucking with coil split . I played the single coil version yesterday and I think it's the noiseless pickups that are doing it for me ! Good snag Ray Silerburst is definitely your colour!

you should check out NJ Guitar and Bass Center in metuchen, just past edison off rt 1. the amount of rare and expensive guitars in there will blow your mind

Sam ash is WAY BETTER than any GC I've ever been to! We have quite a large one in Columbus, ppl line up too "dumpster dive" there! Crazy man, crazy!!

Cherry hill must have gotten some inventory in. Last I was there besides the Michael Kelly wall, maybe 5 guitars were in stock. They’re turning away trade-ins for amps and cabinets and trades for guitars are 40% of the retail value. So I’ve stayed away.
Personally I like the strat with the Floyd. It just looks sweet. I know Floyd’s aren’t easy to deal with but they do come in handy. I love/hate my 84 Kramer, plays great & sounds great but dang the Floyd! Lol

I think you made the right call, honestly. If you don't like Floyd's then you shouldn't convince yourself otherwise because it'll kill your love for the guitar down the line. Enjoy the Player+ dude!

You should check out Kiesels. Can get a better spec’d guitar for less than that American Strat.
I spec’d out a Delos for $1800 with SS frets, Gotoh trem, Ebony fingerboard, alder body, 1-piece roasted maple neck, gun metal gray metallic paint + black burst edges

That's a lot of extra money for a Floyd, though SS frets would be cool. I'm not a floating trem guy either, but if the guitar has to have one, then I'm cool with it. I have a Kerry King V and a Trans Brazilian Dime ML...they have to have their correct trems even if I'm not going to use them much. Just wouldn't be right without them.

I got lucky for a Kirk Hammett guitar. ..I got lucky on my ibanez gio one as well seen for sale I asked we chatted I bought. I'm learning still I have 5 guitars and learning makes no sense but I seen what I like ...now sound I'm into the chug ..disgusting riffs. Learning them from my friend who is totally metaled out. He's in a band. ...I was even asked to be a dj in a band ..I am at my age where I'm just flowing along ....and jamming
Halloween is my fav. ..only time you can dress up and not be judged.

i blocked the trem in one of mine and it works but it still bugs me. IMO there are thousands of sweet guitars out there so unless it checks every box i'd be waiting.

I also switched out the push pull know to make it easier
