    *Great **Generater.Systems** . Our 1st 2500W Champion backed us up with hurricane Ida last August when our whole home generator crapped out after 8 days. Love the dual fuel. Hope to never run gasoline in it.Bought this 2500W to parallel with our other one for the RV.*

      That is awesome because when you put in parallel you get more power and very low fuel consumption👍 Of my 2500 watts generator

      I don't see how this can hold up with saltwater, it's not like i it's made up stainless steel components. Did this last 3 years later? @@OutOnTheReef

      The hondas are great but Westinghouse are 50% cheaper especially did I will have it in the saltwater environments which really deteriorates any generator.

      @@OutOnTheReef - not knocking the Westinghouse Cap. My sister’s family owns one at my recommendation. The Westinghouse model wasn’t on the market when I bought my Honda. You are correct, as the Honda’s are ridiculously expensive. I paid around $1,000 for my EU2000. Hope your new generator gives you many years of reliable service ! 😃

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  4 роки тому

      @@USNVA11 thanks captain and i know Honda and yamaha brands are great but the price is what sets me back especially that I'm going to use it in the salt environment which destroy the generator little bit faster so it's not worth it to spend so much money when I'm going to wear out quick so that means that every five years I can get a new one and be okay and I'll keep you updated how this runs in the future captain thanks for watching and hope your Honda last you a long time to😉👍👍☕

    Hi Capt.... your new generator is a nice upgrade; more power and yet quieter! Although I have seen all your videos, I had forgotten how nice the awesome base/mount that you designed and made is that holds the generator to the cleat; very nice!....
    30+ years ago I used a portable generator on one of our boats and mounted it on the swim platform. (I had built a water-proof box to store it in; lifted the lid when using the generator). Back then the generators were very heavy and VERY loud. Even on the swim-platform it was very loud and vibrated in the forward cabin. Your generator is super quiet in comparison!

    Yup, inside a sound proof casing on a platform outside the transom. Lid level with transom. I put a small blower and a/c vent in roof corner facing back. So I could close when running in rain. Drain in bottom i sloped pretty hard to corner then went back and forth twice length of box to ensure no splash in while backing down. Also put rubber matting for vibration. Or dude you won’t believe what a difference it’ll make if you braze a tip on that muffler so you can put an extension on it an take it over your transom an turn it down past it. You can make it a two piece assembly in a bag. A huge difference.

    Hey Capt nice video....I have to tell you something brother....when you buy a generator, you need to size the equipments as you did....making a list and look for the KW (kilowatts to use ) plus the surge making a note of all the equipments that you have .....and I know you did it.....aqui esta mi critica constructiva.....ir de 2,200 kw a 2,500 no es mucho por el dinero invertido, claro pensando en el futuro.....y en el espacio donde descansa la planta pero pensando maybe that later in the future ....you want to bring a microwave or a small air compressor on board , those equipments pulls a lot of KW in surge, specially the microwave and you do not want to unplugged what you have already set....check Briggs and Stratton P3000; Generac 7129- with 3K surge Champion generator 3,400 or Wen 56380 it has almost the same size requirement for your specs y aumentas casi a 1,000kw de fuerza por el mismo o cerca del precio que estas pagando......antes de retirarme trabajaba con estos generadores....buen trabajo Capt.

    I’m hoping a generator is something I won’t have to buy once I get the boat. I harvested an Onan Microlite 2.8Kw from a wrecked Roadtrek RV. Electric start with wire harness, the remote start rocker switch and monitor panel. It’s 18 years old, but it was properly maintained and I believe has about 80 hours on it. If it works for me 🤞that’s money I can put toward other electronics.
