More Quirks Of The Beretta 1301 Tactical

- This is an addendum to my first video on the Beretta 1301 Tactical (here: • Beretta 1301 Tactical:... ). I felt the need to add a couple of things that were missing in the first video.
No quirks at all. Just learn to use a semi-auto shotgun.
When people with no clue give facts, i love
Bro you should have watched a couple youtube videos before making this. But it's a good example of a way to improperly unload this shotty
Actually, the better way to unload the magazine is to hold the shotgun in your left hand and with your right hand on the lifter use your right index finger to simultaneously press the bolt release from the inside toward the outside while catching the shell with your forefinger and grasping with the thumb to pull the shell out. With your forefinger closer to the shell, it doesn’t smack your finger. Ernest Langdon demonstrates this technique in one of his 1301 videos. It’s actually pretty slick.

Well that was painful to watch.
5 mins to hear you say something that could have been said in
Something about this video just doesn’t flow right…
Nobody pulls up the bolt release to unload. Sure, if you’re the HULK you can do it. But the weekend shotgun 1301 gun games, people just insert the middle finger INSIDE the lifter area and push the spring/button OUT and a shell will jump out to be pulled.
I’ll add one more thing to your list and that is when pushing the shells into the magazine tube, if you don’t push the shell all the way into the tube, it will slide back on to the top of the lifter. That’s just me being lazy and not pushing it hard enough into the tube, but just the same it can happen.
This was painful... to watch
That's not an intentional feature. The biggest change from the Gen1 to the Gen2 1301's is that they redesigned that bolt release lever in order to make it harder to pull on and accidentally discharge shells from the magazine. It still does it if you pry the release lever up, but that's just because the shell latch is hinged on the end to make it easier to load compared to a solid shell latch like on the M2 for instance. There is no reason to ever pull on that bolt release.
Go sit in the truck, Stephen
THANKS FOR A GREAT VIDEO ! UNLOADING THE MAGAZINE IS EASIER BY DEPRESSING THE SHELL LATCH AND ALLOWING THE MAGAZINE SPRING TO PUSH THE SHELL OUT. LEAVE THE BOLT RELEASE ALONE ! USING THE BOLT RELEASE TO UNLOAD WAS A BAD DESIGN AND ABANDONED SOON AFTER THE FIRST 1301 WAS SOLD. MANY FIREARMS WILL NOT ALLOW THE SAFETY TO BE ENGAGED UNLESS THE HAMMER IS COCKED. THE 1301 IS BEST LEFT IN "CRUISER READY" WITH A SHELL ON THE LIFTER AND THE HAMMER DOWN. RUN THE ACTION TO LOAD THE CHAMBER AND COCK THE HAMMER IN ONE MOVEMENT THEN YOU'RE READY TO GO ! "...ALL CAPS BECAUSE I AM HEARING, ACUITY AND KEYBOARD CHALLENGED..."
Absolutely right pain in the *** to empty shells.
Ar’s are the same way with the safety how is that unusual? Is the firearm isn’t cocked why is their a need for the safety to engage?
Something seems wrong about this process. 😯
I am sure there’s a better way to unload this. no way
bruh, dont hold the lifter up, empty the chamber and lock the bolt back, the lifter stays up. THEN pull the lever to unload the tube.. you WANT all 7 to come flying out if ya wanna unload it quickly.
The release is inside on the left-hand side you making it difficult
Why NOBODY makes a video about extending the stock with factory attached parts ? Every video I have found is about changing the stock to some other 3rd party stocks. Even Beretta's manual, that is pretty hard to find, does not explain how to do it.
The reason for racking and no shell coming into the chamber is so u can pop out whatever’s loaded like buck and toss in a slug or whatever different shell needed
You should actually know what you are talking about before you make these videos. Just sayin.
Or you can depres the shell catch.
And a third way to release a shell onto the lifter/carrier is to press the trigger. I opt to use the carrier release button when staging my 1301 with a round on the carrier and an empty chamber.
Also, in double checking my safety, I found it to work with or without the hammer cocked. May want to have that checked.
You can push the bolt release from the inside of the loading port.
Not sure but pink ammo could be a problem going forward.
Hang in there cause you sound flustered AF lol
Use your index finger to simultaneously push up on the lifter and press the release latch from the inside of the receiver.
I think you failed to mention when that c_____n s--t gas cylinder o-ring fails. What o-ring is correct for replacment?????
To unload the mag, I just set the gun straight up and down on butt stock and push my finger against the button from the inside. It seems to work much better and easier for me.
i too like others here use the "push release catch" on the inside. works well and doesnt hurt finger doing it. easier then pulling on outside part that i thunk i'll break at some point
It's basically a newer version of an Remington 870 with that safety.
Good info. Thanks!
Always always interested in anything fighting shotgun! More please?
Safety thing is normal and is a feature. Many rifles including a ruger 10/22 operate that way.
Duhhhh!?
why is there an "X" on your trigger guard? my 1301 doesn't have that
I have the Benelli M4 - same PIA to unload it.
Thank you, I was wondering if mine was defective or if it was normal
Barry said, "When you see red, you are dead."
Used chokes.???
After 4:00 pm
Much respect for part 2
Nice video.
Helpful !
Excellent video thank you! Can you tell me which light mount did you use?
The one that comes with the Nordic Components magazine extension kit.
Thank you Steven, please give us a nes update soon.
The Gen 1 1301 tactical had a different style bolt release, you pushed on the back of it to release the shells for unloading. This could be accidentally engaged when not holding the ramp up and out of the way causing the gun to malfunction. They redesigned the bolt release so it cannot be accidentally engaged. My guess is that while it is possible to pull up on new style release to unload, it is not really intended to be used that way, as there is easier ways to unload it. Personally I think they should have kept the old style and added the shroud, making it much more difficult to accidentally hit the button.
Actually, I have a gen 1 with the added shroud fix and once I till accidentally unloaded two shells on the lift. The shroud still allows you to push in to release the shells onto the lift, it just makes it harder to happen. It is like a brace around the button. You have to push the second one back in the magazine from the open receiver and allow the first to stay on the lift.
