The Woods represents the unknow, whats unusual and dangerous in life, I think that the wolf represent that people who we meet in "the woods", they show us a lot of things, we learn a lot of them, but they can also show us bad things, or we can be hurted by them. Their intentions are not always good... Great song!😝 (sorry for muy english)
This is my favorite version of the song. Her voice just sounds so perfect. In addition, I like how they had Little Red sing the song to the Baker in this movie unlike the musical. I feel like it builds a tiny bit more to their relationship.
Well, this song was more of a theme closer than a plot point. Much like how we could have simply alluded than Johnny was interested in Red and that red and the wolf even met. However these moments have songs because there is a theme that is implemented in these songs when played back to back. To bring it to a real and modern setting, the wolf is representing sexual predators and red a potential and resulting victim. 'Nice isn't always good.' Taking it in that anyone can seem nice however not everyone has good intentions. It's themes like this that really draw a lot of people to the play, me and my drama teacher included.
Did anyone catch how she said “Mother said straight ahead not to delay or be misled” and that’s the same words the bakers wife had said to her I feel as though Little Red see the bakers wife as a mother figure to her
Using this for an audition in a little less than two hours! Wish me luck 😬
This and "Hello Little Girl," are so much creepier and darker when you know the original Little Red Riding Hood story is a metaphor for rape...
This was such a good song. As a metaphor for rape, it put a refreshing lesson out there for everyone watching the movie.
Is noone gonna talk about "Isn't it nice to know a lot! And a little bit not..." literally sent chills
i think sondheim wrote this song from a kids perspective but when adults figure out they realise the songs meaning is to be careful.
This is my dream role. I REALLY want my school to do Into The Woods

i feel like the movie version is so dumbed down that the metaphor went over everyone’s heads 💀
Did anyone else see this song as a metaphor for paedophilia/grooming? I see all the symbolism in the lyrics
"flowers have their dangers"
Lilla did a great job on this!!
"Do not put your faith in a cape and hood"
"He made me feel excited- well excited and scared." Anyone else feel extremely uncomfortable?

“Nice is different then good”
