It’s truly a blessing that you’re able to have your mom share this journey with you. Watching your videos gives me such a warm feeling inside. I am a retired, disabled black female in a small town in Mississippi and some of the prices of the plant based meat alternatives were the same price as here,; even the olive oil and some of the veggies. Hey, thanks for the idea about the sun lamp because I have chronic depression and now that the sun sets about 5:00 it creates havoc for me. God bless you and your mom. Take care. ❤️🙏🏼
@@AdventureTimeLoui Sun lamps are great, but what really helped me get through the long dark winters up there was vitamin D3 tablets. Really helps with SAD ( Seasonally Affected Disorder ) I felt more cheerful immediately. Which is what your body lacks when you don't get enough sunshine...
I just got back home from Anchorage. I lived in AK for years… upper north fly-in-out only (end of the Iditarod) and worked in outer remote villages. Best time ever! Even though I dealt with grizzlies and polar bears, I never faced so many bear situations as I did in Southeast AK. Don’t ever underestimate their intelligence or power. Please, always carry protection. Also, the short winter hours of sunlight never bothered me and I suppose I’m rare in that but I made sure I spent summers outside as much as possible. AK… top of the world, edge of the earth… worth every moment.
I just love your Alaska videos! I'm in Southern California, and although we're blessed with sunshine and warm weather, some days my lil introvert heart just yearns for a cozy cabin more secluded in nature. I get to live vicariously through your videos lol. I'm sending you, your mom, William, and Lady lots of LOVE! 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Cozy cute cabin you're in. This looks like a fun adventure...and your relationship with your mom is lovely. Not all of us have that. Hi, I'm new here. I'm Sherry. Looking forward to your next vlog!!
Another channel shared grocery store prices in remote Galena, AK & a case of bottled water was $41. That same case of water is $7 or $8 here in DC, but even that is double its original price. Everything is going up ⬆️ ~Great video on AK living!!🌟
Your hair is super cute in those big plaits.. love it! The post office is the same in my town... they can't keep people for some reason. So nice to see you and your mum having fun dancing!
I took myself and fam to AK in 2018. I found exactly what you say to be accurate. Prices were not too bad unless you buy prepared food (restaurant stuff) or the cookies etc. I remember being amazed at the huge amount that has to be shipped up to Ak from the lower 48. But AK is abundant with food! Good quality food! We foraged blueberries at Denali .. what seemed like a limitless supply.
Back in the 80s things were more expensive but people made more. With the growth of population wages have flattened and selling more volume has made buying power better.
You guys are so much fun! I love that you make your own sweets. You have to pick and choose the essentials. The prices are expensive so when you get sale breaks you must be dancing in the aisles.
This vlog was so good. I just ordered a bunch of daylight lightbulbs can’t wait for them to come in. The relationship between you and your mom reminds me of my daughter and I 😊.
Love your emergency light. It looks like a little balloon. Prices of anything that you have to ship are expensive everywhere. I live in Southern California so citrus is cheaper. I agree with you that you just have to watch prices when you shop and stock up when you find things on sale. Happy Holidays.
Those prices are even expensive for the Bay Area. There is grocery outlet and smaller markets that you can still find reasonable produce. Those prices may have been comparable to Whole Foods🤣
Thankyou Louie & Bev🦄🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Luvvvv the music & doing your shopping & dancing & & & now i feel really Greatful our food prices in the lower 48 are more decent(:
I was in the IGA grocery store in Delta Junction and they had alvacados for $4.50ea….$4.50ea!!!!!!! Thank goodness I work on the oil pipeline so I can afford a freaking avocado every now and then lol
Wow looking at those prices in USD and then converting them into AUD in my head was mind blowing!! Import taxes are no joke! Glad not all food costs you that much 💜
I have been looking creators who are people of color and one of my viewers suggested your channel, so I look forward to checking out some of your content.
a lot of things are imported thats why there expensive Its fall now it rains this time of year then in the spring winter starts in December around Xmas. Iike your wind maps they are pretty
Also I noticed cereal and basically everything at that grocery store was super expensive, in Alaska is it a thing for people to just order stuff like that from Amazon or something? Or is it just as expensive
I think you'd be a Great Meteorologist..... But.... You better get busy & check it out & get started.... No matter where we live.... Or what we are living in.... Ya do what ya gotta do..... Thanks for the good video....
The beyond sausage over here in the hood in Chicago Is 8.99 As soon as I saw y'all price I was like damn they gave y'all the hood prices. I guess living in a food desert anywhere is gonna be expensive. It's a good thing you guys are learning about foraging... That might help on some of the costs. At least when the berries and mushrooms are in season. #Artisbluu
Your cabin looks so cozy, would like to go out west eventually. I live in South Carolina, we just ice or cold rain when it’s really cold. Out west looks beautiful
I need a video reference of the break down on how much you paid for your acres, and generally where the land is. Really would like to know. How much land is there.

Wow yeah that’s SO EXPENSIVE. I need to see how much wage is here now too! My guess is a case would be around $20! 😅
Your hair is super cute in those big plaits.. love it! The post office is the same in my town... they can't keep people for some reason. So nice to see you and your mum having fun dancing!
This is insightful. I love hearing about the prices. Also, It seems that people everywhere are having staffing issues. Wow!
Yeah seems to be a National problem!

Visiting Denali is definitely on my bucket list.
Didn’t get to see the mountain, but, we entered the park. And it was beautiful! Mt. Denali is like around 20 or more miles in from the entrance
There is food everywhere in the outdoors here! Restaurant prices really get ya to learn how to cook good food yourself that’s for sure haha
Back in the 80s things were more expensive but people made more. With the growth of population wages have flattened and selling more volume has made buying power better.
Nice presentation about everyday expenses. We could all benefit from baking, etc, and avoiding the high cost of processed foods.
Baking and cooking yourself is fun too!!
You guys should keep your seeds from your produce to plant on your property 😉
Thank you
William was so cute nudging you when you were talking about the mandarin oranges.
He looooves attention. That sweet baby!!
Lovely film! You helped lower my blood pressure! Thank you!

Whoa!! 🥑
I was literally complaining yesterday that one large avocado is $2.39!!!! I guess I should stop complaining.
Woah 😦 that’s insane!!
I wonder if "chicken of the woods" mushrooms grow up there?
I remember ordering groceries by lmail list. And shipped to prince of Wales by float plane or barge. Freight cost was 24 to 27 cents per pound .
So cool that you went grocery shopping via float plane!
Honestly DM or text me chips and snacks ya'll want and I would be more than happy to send some your way! Also nice thumbnail!
The rapport between you &
your momma is delightful ✨

Omg the prices there 😳 that’s hurts
What wind map do you use? I love Sitka. I visited last year.
Predict wind!
I was just at the store a few days ago and I think red bell peppers were 2 for $3 at Safeway (lol).

Your just adorable, great video
