    Hey I’m Loui, A couple months ago my mom and I and our two dogs Lady and William arrived on an island in Southeast Alaska. We had never been to Alaska and after traveling almost the entirety of the US we decided that it was no better place own property. After a bunch of research we settled on a a 3 acre plot of land and bought it sight unseen. As you may know winter is approaching us and living in vehicles was not going to cut it for the cold season so we are renting out a cabin while we wait on building a driveway to access and live on our new property next year. We are SO excited to spend our first winter getting to know the people and land in our new home and share it all with you. So don’t forget to subscribe and click the notification bell to find out if we make it through our first cold dark Alaskan Winter.

    I think you've found the answer to your sleeping too late, schedule something to do early enough in the morning to get you out of bed. What a generous subscriber. Glad you were gifted with so much to help you through. Glad the patron thought of the furry babies too. Beautiful footage. Thx for sharing.

    jus to let u kno it’s ok to sleep in . A hundred yr old woman told me a piece of advice on how she lived so long she said people need too sleep! Eliminate stress, that’s the Key. Do nothing to the extreme! Take time to enjoy life.

      Excellent advice. Working for myself, I'm very grateful I can sleep as long as I want. Why to wake up so early if the body asks for more sleep.

    You could use a light alarm clock. A ultra violet light shines on you when your alarm goes off. Oh and it may be a good idea to check the health of the trees on your land before you start to build. Incase you need to remove any to avoid tree falls near your home or walking paths.

    Hi, having spent many winters in Alaska, Bristol Bay Area, I found the Full Spectrum Lights on a timer worked well with Vitamin D supplements.
    Time the lights to come on for sunrise time of 6am. If that doesn’t work fly to Costa Rica.

    My thoughts just sleep while you can your body must need it, so many are complaining about being so tired laying down then can't sleep. Thank God for it and enjoy. You deserve it.
    You two are amazing

    Sooo good! You should make postcard prints of your glacier footage/ other scenic footage and send those for your Patreons. Or sale large prints/canvases .

    Wow, this was so enjoyable that I watched it twice! Christmas in October is certainly fun! But the glacier footage was magnificent! I agree about figuring out how to give yourself something to look forward to in the morning. I am considering volunteering twice a week for that very reason. But there is a lot to mull through with the way the world is right now!

    • @AdventureTimeLoui
      @AdventureTimeLoui  2 роки тому

      True about the a lot to mull through. I feel strange starting to do things like normal again. It's definitely part of the figuring out how to enjoy life like normal again haha

    • @romonasafree3151
      @romonasafree3151 2 роки тому

      @@AdventureTimeLoui I just committed to a volunteer training tomorrow at a social service organization called Prism in the town where I live. I'm hoping that being around people in a safe way while working for a common good will help me to feel like things are more normal. Truth is, I think we all have to figure out a way to create new normals that feel life giving and forward looking. I know you will be able to find/create what works for you, Loui! You are truly an exceptionally brave and powerful young woman...but how could you not be with a mother as powerful and loving as Bex! You will be more than ok wherever you land.

  • @liqdelshaun

    If you don’t do it already... Exercise in the morning! It’s something to look forward to, you can do it first thing in the morning so it doesn’t get in the way of things later in the day and helps you fall asleep faster and improves sleep quality overall.

    Hey! I live in a place with pretty cold, dark winters with very little sun. We have an alarm clock with a light that slowly gets brighter as you wake up. It's been pretty helpful and helps introduce light gradually into a room even though the sun isn't up yet, kind of like an artificial sunrise.

    Love the new edits . Not gonna lie . I’m going to live vicariously through some of your vids. Take lots of pics and vids for $. For get about the sun , set alarms and follow them. I’m 40 an cannot be asleep past 430am . Set my alram for work when I was 18 , an now I never need it. I wish I had people like you an your mom in my comunity. Alaska is lucky to have you 😁❤️

    I worked nights for many years and was always a late sleeper. Almost 4 years ago I started adopting birds. I've been naturally waking with them and the sunrise, or before, ever since. I absolutely love it! Early mornings, in the mountains especially, are so magical. 💜☕

  • @AaronHendu
    @AaronHendu 2 роки тому +3

    For waking up early when it's still dark...it's all about routine for me. At the start, might take some work...multiple alarms...pick ones with the most irritating alarm sound, and put them across the room so you have to physically get up to turn them off. Make sure there is no "auto-off" for the alarm...pick ones you have to manually turn the alarm off. Also...no treats before bed except for maybe a bedtime tea. Perhaps put a lamp or light on a timer so that it turns on at the time you want to be awake and turns on / off at the same time everyday. Once you have the routine, the alarms can be scaled back and you'll barely need them. Also...make sure to always go to bed at a decent time...if you want to be up at 8:00am, make sure you are in bed asleep by midnight.

    Sometimes if I wanna fix my sleep schedule I'll pull an all nighter and then go to sleep super early the next night. Some other things that make me wanna get out of bed is making smoothies when I wake up, listen to music and dance/sing my heart out, as well as flow arts. Hula hooping in the morning and getting my body moving helps me get my motivational juices flowing

    For tips in getting up early. I do retail over 40 hours a week for going on 22 years. I got so use to waking up it became easy now I wake you at 4:30:am even on my days off some times. I'm on a set schedule now. So that also helps to make it an everyday thing.

    I don’t know if someone already suggested this, but you should try planning to do something you really like early in the morning. Nothing work or chore related (even if you enjoy it). Something you really enjoy… even if it’s a small guilty pleasure. Something that gets you out of bed.
    This small guilty pleasure will act as your motivation to get out of bed so it’s not a chore, then keep yourself busy with work or chores so you don’t get back in bed.

    I knew someone who had a relative from the Netherlands that would have a fluorescent light above his primary sitting space. Sort of artificially changing his biological sleep schedule? I live in Ca so I get lots of light.. never had to do that. Maybe it helps to gradually get used to those long winters with a fluorescent light?

    I grew up in Alaska. You just get used to it. But try one of those alarms that light up as if it was the sun. I didn't have one but it may help. And in the summer black out shades. :-) And if Alaskans put their life on hold because of weather we wouldn't do anything! Get out there! Love it all! I personally love rainy days and snow days *sigh*.
