In this video, Gaius recounts a challenging build that took place in Friendship, Maine. The build took place on a remote island that's only accessible by barge.

Great story. The barge owner was a character for sure.
If you guys did a live stream from the point of view of a dog walking around your campus, I would watch it too. Love everything you make.
That's a great idea, thank you!
Don't be so agreeable
@@garrettscott4094 that made me smile for some reason! maybe because of that old grey faced Irish Setter photo bombing some of their videos?
Such a great adventure!
Love hearing about these different builds!
Thank you! Always fun to reminisce.
Nothing beats a great story. Great tell!
I always enjoy story time with the Henins!
I built an ICF home out in the middle of Colorado. It was over 100 miles away from the nearest town and further than that from the nearest concrete yard.
Unreal, great job!
These stories have really made us have a good laugh. Btw what's the little thing in your shirt pocket? We noticed him in a couple of videos.
Glad to hear it! It is a funny little pen that has "hair" that works as a screen cleaner.
I'm sure we'll all have some stories on here...
This past summer I recently built a 'cabin in the woods' so to speak. The nearest town is 110 kms away, and I had to take my aluminum boat 9kms up a river to get there from the nearest road.
41 acres/17 hectares completely surrounded by endless crown/public lands in north central BC, Can.
Camping out every night with no connection to the outside world (except the times I would venture out into the far away town) was worth it in the end.... I was able to build a startup cabin after 7 weeks. No shortage of monster trees to build from. I can start the real work next year.
Important note here: starting from scratch with minimal gear, supplies and no connection to the outside world will be the big test. Get through that, a d you'll be able to tackle anything moving forward. Looking forward to gaining more skills from this UA-cam channel
best of luck! how are you doing?
I just started the online course. I'm hoping to be able to tell a very, very boring story. Well, at least for the first build...
In construction, the boring stories are often the best...
