Chinese waste gates are exactly the same with those stupid clamps.
Mate, those v-band clamp things are such a pain! 🙄 I have a TurboSmart gate as well, and had to take the whole turbo system apart multiple times last year when I ran into fitment issues with the top mount manifold... I am not looking forward to doing that again. With that being said, I very probably will have to do that again very soon. 🤣😂😅😐😭
Thinking about it, I think mine came with a little spacer thing so that the nut sits a little bit further on the thread and you can actually use a socket on it...

ive just found out the gt3582 i have is small for a single turbo setup on a l98...would i still get away with using it or should i just go bigger? im not chasing big numbers. maybe 600max. but want power lower down. and dont wanna kill the engine if the turbos too small
I would say go bigger for sure. For what you want to achieve, a G40-1050 would be the perfect turbo. Pulsar make an equivalent, well priced for what they are, we have had great success with pulsar over the years. And a G40 would be super responsive on a 6L
