- Knee injuries are almost always multidimensional. Complete knee examination will expose the full extent of the injury. Experience in all knee ligament surgical procedures is a must to get the best results. ACL repair or reconstruction gives a natural knee with quicker recovery -at 6 weeks. In cases where the Anterior cruciate ligament of the knee is pulled out from bone and ligament quality is good -we repair it back rather than replacing it with a new graft.
This injury is common in adolescents and one ligament is stitched back to bone it heals in 6-8 weeks. As it's a natural knee ligament so it feels normal with excellent results.
Combined ligament injuries are the reason for gross knee instabilities. An isolated ACL tear cannot cause such extensive instabilities. An experienced surgeon will look for associated knee corner injuries. Isolated ACL reconstruction surgery is not enough and will fail for sure. In such cases, additional extra-articular procedure is a must.

Hi sir, My ACL tear was operated by you back in 2015. But after a year, i started feeling stiffness and a very uncomfortable feeling in my knee. Also, it got locked more than 3 times. Then i got my MRI done on the recommendation of Dr. Rakesh Sharma (amritsar) which showed results of meniscus tear. I got prp treatment done by him. Its still the same. What should i do? Fiber tape and fiber wire also used with screw method
Better talk to surgeon who did your surgery but my observation is that fibertape causes problem in knee as its more stiff than normal ACL and patients often find difficulty in getting normal knee movements. I suggest you work on knee extension and start cycling
If there is still issue , I can examine and suggest way out

@@rajatd989 its not good idea to put internal brace as its synthetic and can cause reactions .
I advice against artificial suture material inside joint .
However decision is yours
