- ACL injury has become more common with advent of high level of competitive sports and road side accidents. These injuries are often missed to start with and an athlete is unable to return to field. This short educational video will cover most important aspects of ACL injury in common terminology.

Ligament injury can be diagnose by ct scan
Dear Suraj , we can diagnose only bone ligament avulsions on CT scan. For soft tissue injuries or intra substance tears, MRI is imperative.

so after MRI Scan there is "near complete ACL tear at mid substance with marrow contusion seen at lateral tibial plateau also moderate joint effusion"

Hello Doctor! My MRI says i have 3rd Grade ACl and Meniscus tear. I am a sports person while playing football it happened. I am not finding any difficulties while walking or slow running. Sometimes it pains when i jump or when i get myself disbalanced and that too behind the leg.
I can even bend my knee not fully but you can say 75degrees not more than that after that i feel pain. I want to ask you does it require surgery or it will get healed and if it gets healed will i be able to play football again? I want to play football and cricket again i want to run again according to that what you will advice me to do kindlu help i’m feeling very low after this injury has happened to me.

We will try our best possible to bring you to the field as soon as possible. The feeling you have is described as instability. A complete ACL tear will not heal without intervention and you might have feeling of recurrent episodes and under confidence while playing.

I think evaluation physically is required for decision on how to move forward. Partial tears are usually not symptomatic
