- That's RiGHT, it's NiGHTS! This little Sega Saturn game is quite the weird one, and I'm here today to show you why, and perhaps give you a slight chuckle along the way?

I thought Ristar would’ve been Sonic’s weird young brother, considering his gameplay’s directly ripped from a prototype Sonic concept involving a rabbit grabbing enemies with his ears.

I used to play like the first few levels on NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams as well as played as Nights in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and in that fictional online Sonic RPG game. It's been years so I couldn't remember the name of that RPG game though, but Nights has a charm like you said and I think it deserves more recognition. I have a crazy, but unlikely for how NiGHTS could make a very huge comeback. NiGHTS should become a DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! #NiGHTS4Smash

Fun fact, in Jackle’s Japanese bio it says that Wizeman wanted to make him a first class nightmaren like Nights and Reala but something went wrong while he was being created and he ended up in being a second class instead

Knights journey of dreams cam out a month after i was born and I ended up finding it in a once upon a child store and taking it home. It’s me favorite game next to a boy and his blob and holds a very special place in my heart. I really wish it was more popular :(

I'm a lil biased, but I thought this was a great review! You missed some of my favorite things about NiGHTS like the holidays, the crazy achievement of killing gilwing in one swoop, and some of the controls, but I still loved the video! ^u^
Yeah I knew about the Gilwing thing, but i didn't mention it because I couldn't do it. I didn't want to say it and not have footage of it. I'm glad you liked it overall though!

nice vid, I wish the music was a bit louder compared to ur voice, but maybe that's just me... NiGHTS music is so amazing lol. ALSO the Saturn graphics are most appealing and dream-like. You're showing the smoother later graphics, of whatever later version. Less appealing than Saturn's glitchy dreamy graphics. It's a dream-simulation after all. ;)
You got talent kid, keep it up! It was a nice structured review! It kept me engaged! I honestly don't have any problems with it. If anything, I would suggest maybe put more editing flairs such as: zooming in on a detail or jump cuts (y'know just for comedic effect)

I am happy to inform, four years late, that yes NiGHTS games have an entire fandom (although understandably on the smaller side) Its a mix of veterans (like myself) and younger folks who just appreciate the aesthetic of both games. Opinions are divided on which ones are the better game (personally I'm biased towards Journey of Dreams because I played it first before Into Dreams and as janky as it is, it's still a good ol time) and uh yeah, its a chill bunch. A lot of us are artists (shocker I know, including myself)
I'm kinda sad this vid didn't go too deep about the extremely vague and esoteric lore (that is 75% of what interested us in the first place) but I don't blame you. I'm just glad you pronounced Reala's name correctly :)
We're also very divided on whether there should be a third instance in the story, or a reboot of either/both games. Mostly because both have strong flaws as well as strong strengths and the final boss, y'know, fighting a GOD is hardly the Bayonetta fever dream I was expecting when I was 13 :(
I believe it would benefit from a reboot and I do think it would work well on the Switch. Sadly, SEGA has all but forgotten about NiGHTS (not even mentioning that the creator is in...jail...yeah lol) It's a shame but hey, there's plenty of talented dataminers, 3D artists and more in the community, perhaps some day we can do the impossible and make our own.
This was my first real attempt at a video in this style so I didn't search out as much lore as I should have. Since this was made I have looked into NiGHTS more and I've had a blast learning about the world and characters. I have yet to replay the Wii game, but I hope to do so in the future and I'll make sure to cover it here again!

I hope you have fun with the game, all of the jankiness and questionable voice acting aside, it lives dearly in our hearts because of it and all of it's flaws aside it's still a sweet story of two kids dealing with some very relatable problems.

Wow, I love the writing of this, the content, the everything! One idea I have, if you’re willing to consider, is to add a rating at the end. It’s not that you need one, but one final verdict establishing your opinion of the game would be nice. You could even create four categories you’d rate independently and then give one collective rating, while rating them on a letter scale and using the little… rating diamonds (whatever they are) graphic from NiGHTS to display it and pay homage to this first review. I also think it’d be a good idea to play these games on stream and then do a review on said game, potentially using footage and reactions from the livestreams. Anyway, this was a very well-put together video and I hope to see the next one soon (and maybe even a Zelda game in the future!)

Oh! Been a while since I've seen a NiGHTS review. This one is a pleasant surprise! I admire your attitude/personality throughout it and for your first video within this series, it's nicely done! I would say for constructive criticism, just work on the tone of your voice at times; as it appears to be shaky in some areas, but nevertheless, not much of a big deal.

P.S. Do you think Sega or the Sonic Team themselves would ever make a third one for the series? As it's been about 11 years since Journey of Dreams came out, and it would be ironic if it followed the pattern of releasing one every 11 years lol; although very unlikely since no news has came out at all for this series as of recently.
I read on one of the wikis that they've been wanting to make a third one, they just haven't had the time I guess? Not sure how outdated that information is though. Also i'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll try to work on that for next time!

Yeah I recall that information! I remember that they personally wanted to make another additional game to the series, but stated that in the end, it's up to Sega if it can truly be created. So I suppose it's mainly a void up to this point in time whenever or not one will be created sooner than later. It possesses a lot of potential that can be explored more: like with the actual characters themselves and their past, or even more about the psychological mysteries that can be explored within Nightopia among each individual.
Although, the animation within the series, always gave me such an unsettling vibe in some cases; so I suppose that can be an area that would be great to see improvement on.
