I read BNW in 90's, reading it again now: we have deeply advanced in happycracy in only 20 years. Soma is still unperfect, but popular, in many different forms. Bliss has won over sense. We all belong by means of social networks to everyone else. Still working on being more promiscuous, but on our way. Those who are not in are not welcome anymore. Hellicopters not yet, but drones. It's not inspired by the book. They are simply using the name because people are familiar with the title. Having read the book several times, it's quite clear that this pile of garbage is the precise opposite of the book and embraces the dystopia instead of warning against it.
In Brave New World people were conditioned to be happy, but life had absolutely no purpose. People existed, ONLY, to keep society running. There was no development of society, or science. It was a totally static, stagnant society that could never develop or change.
