@@bernardurizaorozco7539 Yes, I know that. However, their adaptation is crossed the border with going too far from the main source. As a reader, I didn't like their decisions about the script.
@@fairymaiden7136 Can Netflix pick up a show from another streaming service or they can't because Peacock plans to keep airing season 1? Netflix probably has too much on its plate, but I think the death of this show was due in part to the platform it aired on.
I do like the concept of the New Londoner's being so sexually fluid. They were in the background, but you did get glimpses of male on male and female on female action during the orgies. John even seemed like he was open to this because when he was initially going to the parties and there was this montage of him sleeping with different women, they did sneak a shot of a man in there who was wearing what looked like Christmas decoration on his head and face. So I thought John was fine with being bisexual. Until Bernard made a comment at the hide and seek party about John not being interested in hunting male beta's because he was denying himself half the population. I know at the time John was really into Lenina, but he didn't even bother to disabuse Bernard or the viewers that he'd already been with a man.
Haven't read the book ,just watched the series and loved it!If you're a lefty/communist you will probably hate it ,it reminds me the utopia promise land from Marx's manifesto with( a futuristic spin) and everything that's wrong with it,in this totalitarian utopia named New London there is a hierarchy and 0 free enterprise there is nothing you can do to climb higher ,0 spirituality ,the worst thing is to be a mother and monogamy, family and privacy are forbidden...well this show makes you think a lot..
@@DylanNes they should be careful what they wish for ,this system is so incompatible with our nature thats why people were given heavy drugs in order to survive it
Brave New World is more about technocratic ''Bezos-like'' capitalistic utopia of obedient workers numbed with antidepressants. Marx would want utopia where people are conscious of themselves and act according to their needs with regards to others.
@@xeraph02 Also on the subject of Marx, again not an expert, did he not believe in abolishing private property? No one owns anything in BNW, everything belongs to the "social body". Doesn't sound very capitalist to me:P
I haven't read it either and looked at summaries. I also enjoyed it a lot, and I think their spin is pretty true to the spirit of the book, and it adds a lot of very appropriate updates based on societal and technological advancement. What this really looks like is the zeitgeist project, so it's a the BNW story, but takes SWJs and modern techno-commies into account.
This series is not based on, just "inspired" from Huxley's novel. There are significant differences.
There are but the difference are very modern and i like it!!
It is an adaptation of the novel, not an imitation.

@@Concepcion30 I like your observation :)
The thing about making a serie/movie about a book who is too popular etc. Is that nothing is enough there will be always complains.
They should have just made a movie of the book not a show

I watched this video after episode 4 i think and i was interested in why we see cjack60 speak that much
