    This was an excellent guide - the best part about this compared to other tutorials was the attention to detail in regards to the torque specs and the drain funnel. Lots of people on UA-cam skip both those steps.

    This is the third tutorial I watched to find out WTF the smaller O ring is for. WAY better than the others Great attention to the detail, no skipping over steps. I'm grateful you made it. Honestly thought I got the wrong filter (I did not).

    Had recently bought my 2017 Camry and needed to do my first oil change. Glad I found this video. Great tutorial -- engaging and covered all the bases, with just the right tips and detail given (especially with changing the oil filter), so I knew what to expect throughout the whole process.
    Fortunately, no excessive torque from a breaker bar was needed. 😀😄

    I accidentally found this channel and I'm so glad i did. I have a 2012 camry le that just turned ove 90k miles, I'm the 2nd owner of it, i had to have the all 7 trans gears plus overdrive and torque converter changed out plus new trans fluid and filter..it runs great now. I want to keep this car bc it's a very good car and seeing this lady give instructions on how to keep up with the maintenance really has inspired me. Please keep up the great videos and you guys have gained a new fan, thank you!!

    Young Lady, you just made my day. That is one of the most informative, comprehensive, basic maintenance tutorials I have ever seen. Thank you so much. Wish everyone else had your humility, presentation style and humor. Due to the current economy, I am now changing my wife's Camry oil and rotating her tires. What knucklehead designed that oil filter? Surely would be nice to have a spin-on/off style. Went and bought the special tool for the housing.

  • @34-yankee86
    @34-yankee86 6 місяців тому

    Great job; good presentation. I've done my own car maintenance for many years but still watch these when I buy my sons, my daughters, my wife or lastly-me, a different car mainly to get the details on tools needed, socket sized, fluid types and especially torque settings. I know all that stuff is in the owners manual but I've gotten lazy and find it much more pleasant to just watch experienced folks doing the job and paying attention to the detail.

    Wow, a TRUE professional! Thanks to a stupid service center (big chain store, don't care to share the name) failing to secure the under-carriage aero panel on my '14 Taurus SHO, it was damaged. When I decided to go back to performing my own oil changes, I was greeted with over-tightened fasteners, just as you showed in this video. This is typical of stupid shops that turn out services as quick as possible. The "techs" could care less about possibly stripping oil pans, etc. Thanks for the info...

    I've been working on cars since the early 90's and this canister filter is the worst and only type that I've had leak after an oil change. The aluminum cap leaks and is too easy to break off. You have none of those extra parts with a traditional oil filter. Great instructional video.

    Very nice video. I was amazed that the tech was able to get the plastic drain plug on the canister with one hand. It is a bear to overcome the canister's inside spring, but I'm thinking with the vehicle raised on a lift one gets more arm power to push it in than just having the vehicle on jack stands. The otherinnovative way to get it on is using two thumbs; one on either side to equalize the pressure. Great istructions and video work.

  • @LarryB-inFL
    @LarryB-inFL 8 місяців тому +1

    Good video but my only criticism is your use of very long ratchet extensions. While that is fine IF you exert NO pressure to the sides, with that long an extension, I believe you can easily round out the top sides of the soft aluminum of the filter housing drain plug...and you can see how chewed up it already is @12:03!! My rule is to use as short an extension as possible when dealing with an aluminum or other soft metal. And, really, generally, since if the extension is cocked, then some of your torque becomes pressure going sideways rather than rotational.

    Wouldn't it be nice if all repair shops too the time to actually clean off the oil soaked parts like she did with Brakleen and wipe them down, etc. Truth is, almost none would do it that way because they take so many short cuts. Sometimes their poor work results in additional problems during or after their own work, which they will happily take your money to fix.

    Thanks for that last bit of info. Another reason to not trust jiffy lube and the other guys.

    How to reset maintenance soon on the dash

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 роки тому

      +Polo Lauren Thanks for checking us out! While each vehicle may be slightly different in this process, you can try the following:
      Insert your key in the ignition and turn it to position one
      Push and hold the odometer button on your dash and then turn your key to position two
      Keep holding the odometer button for about 10 seconds or so
      The maintenance light should start to flash and there may be a beeping sound
      Then the light should turn off
      After the maintenance light goes off release the odometer button and then start your car
      This should shut the light off
      If it’s still on, repeat this process once or twice more

    Really hate it people over torque everything especially God knows they even heard of torque wrench or torque specs. I had muscle strain in my chests changing my sister's tyre... A tyre! One car, we had to get guy from tyre shop too. He bought a pipe as extension to take out the lug nuts. I'm not sure my local toyota sc did a pretty job when getting alignment done gone bad, hate it when some transport agency praise toyota like they did everything good.

    Not sure I can design a more complicated way to change oil. Love Toyota but Geez!! VW / Merc is on top of engine correct way up so no mess and easy. 🙄. My old 2005 4Runner V8 is easy. This is nuts.
