I do a 16 hour minimum fast everyday. No hunger issues at all. I eat chicken, turkey and seafood. Lots of salads and pasta occasionally. 5’4 116 lbs. My nemesis is salty snacks which I have now completely stopped because my blood pressure was creeping up. A doctor many years ago told me stay away from the three evil powders, flour, sugar, salt. He was ahead of his time!
Regular table salt, which has all other minerals removed and is adulterated with an anti-caking agent, calcium silicate, yes. On the other hand, Celtic and Himalayan salts, being pure and loaded with minerals, are widely known to be essential for human health; these salts might not have been available many years ago.
He was definitely a wise Dr! Because now all these Dr similar to Dr Hyman are all saying eat more Whole Foods, which help our microbiome and positively impact our health, and our ability to think critically, which leads to a long life!
I don't know why we're talking about poor people not being able to exercise or afford it because it's expensive when you can literally just exercise at home and anywhere for free
My kitchen doubles up as my gym ! Squats using the counter for balance ,standing arm pushes from the counter ,leg raises to counter height, sit/stand from kitchen chair ! All of these can be done around my daily chores !!
Exciting that scientists agree making strides on understanding aging. It feels like we're on the cusp of being able to control longevity in a more targeted way.
Dr. Hyman I’m so upset hearing this guy push meds rather than taking card of ourselves. Now I know he is saying to keep working out and keep eating a healthy diet. But he makes it sound like by the time we are 65 it doesn’t matter what we have done all the years before to protect our health we are going to get something that’s not good. I’m a health and wellness coach who’s been studying healthy lifestyle for years. This is the interviews that I hear that just puts me over the edge. Here’s what I know. My grandma never took a pill in her life until after my grandfather passed. She was 80 and became very depressed and stopped moving. She developed type 2 diabetes, the meds she took caused problems with lots of her other organs. She spent the next 11 1/2 years very ill, no quality of life, taking 25 pills a day. What I’m saying is one medication leads to more medication. I just feel like this is Big pharma speaking. I’m going to continue eating healthy and moving. This just causes folk to look away from healthy living because they feel it’s to hard and just take pills instead.😢
I don't feel that way at all...u got to hit it from all angles: healthy lifestyle, nutraceuticals, and/or metformin or hormone replacement. Getting old is a cruel bitch...we have to do whatever we can to slow the aging clock.
Exercise is a must, because it keeps us in line with what doctors know about everything in our being, use it or lose it. My physician dad and uncles retired in their 80’s. I played them tennis beyond 80.
Exercise will make you age faster. Walking out in the sun is good for your health.humans are a sedentary specie while inketosis most of the time.we are lean and strong.look at the indigenous people all over the planet
What if u don't eat much or take vitamins, what's the outcome after last 20 + yrs , tells me it's not diet but our walk ! & our diet can help our walk , 🚶♀️
Rather than spend nearly 100 minutes watching this video, try spending that much time in the gym doing something good for your body. No drugs, intermittent and long term fasting, healthy food, sleep, etc..
Being a diabetic I'd love to know if diabetics have the same benefits taking Metformin as "non-diabetics"??? I take 2000 mgs a day of Mefotmin. I would also like to know what dosage are you suggesting for most people???

If I walk on the treadmill in the morning before eating, I get off the treadmill super hypoglycemic. It's so bad. I tried intermittent fasting. I never lost a pound. I eat no sugar, low carb, and read labels to avoid toxins. I'm so frustrated .
Simple, eat fatty red meat. Fat fuels your body and mind. Just avoid carbs, all sweetners/sugar, seed oils. I only use Coconut oil and butter in cooking. Hitting the treadmill before eating breakfast (please avoid cereals, oats etc like the plague, they are the worst. Cheese in moderation, try to minimise milk) is a great way to build appetite. Lost 53kg in 8 months, HbA1c was 8.7, now 5.4 No more sleep apnea, no more meds, no more severe major depressive disorder, fatty liver (was on the verge of cirrhosis), no more type 2 diabetes, no more hypertension, no more erectile disfunction. Life is good again.
HIIT. Every 3rd day. Each time 4 bouts each less than 45 seconds. Full recovery between sessions essential. Thereafter I eat at least 3 organic soft boiled eggs. Lost 15 lbs in 4 years.
Tried intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast, having late lunch and early dinner. Fasting window just drink plain water or add Good Salt to taste. After only one year, my BMI went from 26 to 21 and my fatty liver was no longer fatty. And the main cardio exercise I do is to walk to the food court for my meals, do some grocery shopping and then walk back home.
You may need to go to a few national medicine doctor to assess for medical issues. High insin levels can make it hard to lose weight , so can chronic stress. How do you know you are hypoglycemic? Are you taking your blood sugar with a glucometer ? I would stop the pre breakfast exercise until you or a doc figures out what is going on. Have you drastically cut calories to lose weight?. Good luck.

Looks can be deceiving, but I think he is very sharp. Why are people so obsessed with appearance when it comes to longevity? Sun cream and staying indoors can help to make you look younger, but it has not much to do with health.
There seems to be a fairly substantial amount of evidence that shows metformin inhibits muscle mass gains from working out by about 50%. That concerns me.

My doctor years ago told me to stay away from anything white - flour, sugar, bread, rice. Now bread is brown along with many others. Still bad.
There is nothing like a brown bread, its a gimmick

Eat natural food, don’t smoke or drink, do cardio and lift weights. Avoid prolonged stress and get at least six hours of sleep at night . Simple.
Agree with you 100%
Only sounds simple
In my opinion, that is a lot of it, but not all of it. 🙌

Both pills and healthy living are important.

The skin of Dr Barzilai is perfect!! He knows what is anti-aging !!!
Skin is genetic
Dr. Nir seems to be aging backwards...looking better and better.
bc he takes metformin 😮
Metformin is a drug! How about the body doing its job with good habits! ❤️ like Dr. Hyman always teaches us!
That’s what I’m thinking. This fellow is saying everything opposite of what Hyman has taught us.
Agree this interview is uncomfortable to watch.

I personally believe aging and dying is built in at birth...not much wiggle room. When you're aging clock expires, thats it!
What about exercise Omad, fermented food healthy fats proper sleep and occasionally smoking ?

My doc gave me Metformin for Metabolic syndrome (I do not have diabetes) and it caused diarrhea for me
Were you taking a supplement form of fiber? My mom had the same outcome, but honestly she didn’t think about what she was consuming, which matters.
I was NOT taking any fiber supplements
Constipation for me😮
Why isn’t the medical field using that cancer cure?
Aging well is not cheap according to all the things they recommend but much preferable to spend money on health than on big pharma
Just looked him up and he’s only 68
Amen! I am over helping big banks, Pharma, and petroleum companies. Let’s find avenues to help the masses be healthier.
Absolutely agree, better to spend on maintaining health rather than waiting for a chronic illness hits .
If blood flow restriction training increases growth hormone would this be bad for people over 50?
That is what I was wondering too.. like I'm confused a bit now..idk..
How do you get rapmician
From a functional MD.
You must have a prescription for it.
Easter Island dirt
