This was filmed 45 years ago (1969). It is amazing how innovative Bob Fosse was! We really do not see choreography of similar calibre today. Suzanne Charney is ridiculously talented! Great range of motion and fluidity. Great match of music and film.
***** I remeber her when I was a kid. She had small roles in things like Rockford files, Kojak, and other similar type programs. I don't think she was as big as she should have been but still she kept busy. Good work Tom. You are really good at this!
I was mesmerized with how cool this choreography is. Thanks for letting me know who did this. I wonder what the original sound track is. Ah I found it, Bob Fosse's 'The Rich Man's Frug' from Sweet Charity (1969)
This is superb ... Suzanne Charney is as good a dancer as i have ever seen and, hotter than the sun . A perfect fit for a great song by the best band ever x
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! VJ Tom Yaz's work is sheer genious. Perfect timing, perfect editing, perfect selection. Yaz took an old Bob Fossey clip from Sweet Chastity, and edited it to fit this B52s song. The timing, cuts, selections, are genious. It looks super fresh yet Retro. The lead dancer is amazing. The whole Bob Fossey group is tight, well-polished in perfect sync. Incredible Yaz!
This is INCREDIBLE...!!! The Brunette from 2:55 to 3:20 is probably the most typical B-52's Dance Moves I've seen since the B's in the 80's.....This video....it's kind of a 60's Hullabaloo Tv Show / British Dance Troupe thing......I don't know?....But I loved it!!
Amen and yes its more like 100,000. Just saw the B-52's at the Fox in Atlanta got clips on my channel. Though they didn't do this song, which i'm in love with now thanks to this video.
The male dancer in the red waistcoat on the right has, "Aloof " down to the ground. Don`t care how old this is, it's great dancing all round and I loved it
I cannot stop listening and watching this...B-52s never cease to amaze me, your ability to match this video to the audio track, is without equal, they were meant for each other. Looks like there was very minimal editing. Love it!
This is a great song to sing loudly in your car while driving alone (and having people stare at you strangely). "Venus went away, to a lonely star. Now she's back, and here we aaaaarreeee"
Tom Yaz This video is flawless and I love the section from 02:59 onward. The timing is perfectly in sync with the beat, so well done mister and I hope the B52`s love it as much as me. Definitely deserves a HUGE , Thumbs Up and hell ....... I`m gonna watch this again on Loop whilst I have my breakfast. All the best mate and to all you B52 fans all over planet Earth
I saw "Sweet Charity" on an airplane in 1969 and I thought this scene was super cheesy. It took about 10 years and a lot of pop culture changes for me to start to appreciate it, as I do now.
your baaaaaack! :) :) :) there is a god! my favourite fan-made video in the world! love it, love it, love it! :) :) :) i'm allways happy after watching this. :)
This is such an apt pairing - video and song! Daftly beautiful, classically idiosyncratic. There should be appreciation of and openness to such VJ-ing, as a branch of artistry in itself. In my view (if well done, as here) it does not detract from either source but cross-fertilises the arts and likely brings a fresh appreciation and wider audience to each. Power to you, VJ Yaz, and much respect!
@rjspeleton Amen I would never have thought to watch the movie, now I want to get it. And yes it only promotes the last B52's album Funplex from where this excellent song comes from.
Here you are the original source of this great VJ Tom Yaz's work. You can find anothers pieces from the movie Sweet Charity. Those images and the groovy music of The B-52's... Thanks, Tom Yaz!
This is absolutely fantastic! Right on man. True art! And to a cool B-52s song. Totally rocks so hard. Another level of artistry to combine these art forms. Thanks and kudos :)
One of their most underrated tunes.
Billcayemberg, agreed! In fact that whole soundtrack (Funplex) is what I call “B52’s for Adults” 😊🎶
Marvelous song with a magnificent Bob Fosse choreography ... success garanted !! ❤
Thank God this was reposted! Outstanding!!! I have probably watched this at least 150 times....so far!!!
LOL. Me too! It's perfection!
Yea. It’s great. Their best album I think

What ever happened to her? she appears in this sweet charity all though the film as different characters

Still loving this and got a autographed image of the lead dancer! Very nice young lady!
Tom Yaz - Boston's finest VJ - this is a work of art - excellent cutting to get the original clip to fit - genius.
I can't stop watching. This is STUNNINGLY AMAZING!!!!!
One of the best mash-up videos I have seen in a long time...
It almost impossible to believe this video footage is from 1969, everyone in this video is old enough to either be our parents or grandparents now

Tom you really made the grade. Fabulous mix with extremely good Fosse and B-52s and that Suzanne Charney.... Wow!
