When it comes to FAMU snares, their snares are tuned to sound like that. It’s not that they’re muddy or dirty, their drums are tuned to sound like field drums, not tuned super tight like BCU or FMU.
Just keep that in mind moving forward.

Also, famu play style is supposed to be more exaggerated and bold which takes out a lot of their pay ability
Out there famu was the only competition for bcu, fmu had some cold cadences, but some of them were plain
To my knowledge, I think FloMo is the only drumline that has tonal bass and tonal tenor drums

I would recommend FAMU vs Southern from 2007

Ngl you be hating on famu drumline they were cleaner then the other two if we comparing actually I think if you start giving famu the respect they deserve all of these bands can’t compete it’s a big 4 in this band shit whether people acknowledge it or not jsu at the top rn but after that’s it’s can be debated and to me you can put southern and famu there and if you say tsu what do they do better then southern and if we talking sections fr famu got them beat so does bcu bcu book is old but there sound you can’t compete with if your sound is a copy cat of southern and that style
FAMU was dirty…they’ve always been dirty . That’s been the ONLY issue
@@ChefDonnyH blasting notes are dirty especially when bands other then southern or jsu does it tsu getting better at it but even when the battled famu a few years back ina gym famu was louder and cleaner and wasn’t even back to full strength that’s another thing people fail to realize famu was always for years and bounced back and there drumline isn’t messy considering I watch them a lot they have mistakes like any other band
