- **Disclaimer - These are two separate products. Anything you see us swinging like a baseball bat is the 1911 cane, there is also a sword cane that allows you to quickly draw a very long and sharp blade. You cannot use the sword cane like a club or bat. Links for more information below.

What keeps the sword and handle from flying out of its sheath from the centrifugal force? It must be locked into the sheath, but that wasn’t shown and is a feature that would be of interest
Great question. The non sword version is the only one we're using like a club. That wouldn't work with the sword version.

@@Coleman77 Yes Cold Steel, I would also like to know your answer to this question. I really want to acquire some sort of cane sword and am torn between the "heavy duty sword cane" and the "1911". I understand one can be used more so for slashing and the other is for piercing. I would like to have a spear readily available, but is it secured tightly enough that it will not just to flying out at the slightest swing? Is that why you are saying it wouldn't work with the "sword" version, or is there another reason. I really want to purchase one but find myself at a bit of an impasse. Thanks for your time.

@@andrew-ripley1747 ***Sigh**..... i didn't realize until watching youtube videos on it that it wasn't part of the package. In my childlike hast to purchase it at the price i did, i neglected to take note as to the type of sheath, and was actually really pumped thinking i was getting the leather one, only to have the guy whose sheath i was admiring, break the unfortunate news to me about said change.
But as a secondary option would be perfect..... agreed!

I'm not German (European, however) but I scavenged a bit the German sword/knives laws in the last months.
First thing, let me say that the law isn't too bad, in general (there's nations in the EU with more severe restrictions) but a thing I noticed is that 'trench knives', sword canes etc are banned not because of the (hidden, in the case of sword canes) blade, but due to the mix of the two (so the blade that is hidden inside an apparently normal, everyday object/tool, like a walking cane is).
In fact, if you in Germany manage to obtain (don't know how) ONLY the sword/spiked part of a sword cane, no matter which, you can technically keep that bladed weapon at home, legally, because isn't anymore a sword cane but... a sword, only.
Trench knives are banned in Germany because in the handle there's this sorta of 'knuckle duster' handle, and those are illegal, that's why. I don't know, however, why 'ninja' shurikens are banned, ah ah! :-P

I like the idea of a sword cane, but they are totally illegal in my home state of Illinois. Although, now, CCW and switchblades has been allowed for permitted persons (if you can own a firearm in Illinois, you can own a switchblade).
If you have a FOID card you can own a switchblade or balisong now,any kind of automatic knife you want, no ccw needed just a FOID. I wish they'd get rid of the whole program but they never will as long as Chicago exists. Not sure if a sword cane is considered a concealed weapon but knowing this state it probably is

Canes are about personalized aesthetics, asides from self defense and a walking aid.
