Best role of Hilary swank. Oscar was necessary for her. She was great in million dollar baby but this perfomance. Remind me of Charlize Theron in monster. A hell of a perfomance and masterpiece movie

I SO agree! There are the only two female performances I’ve watched that are not just outstanding where they are unrecognisable physically but also where they have a completely different persona. They are both one of the greatest actresses of all time. Both very deserving of the awards they got 🥇

@@yourmommasentme6544see, that's the thing about art (of which any entertainment based media belongs to including books, movies, and even video games), it's all dependent upon the perspective of the one viewing it. For people who experience the pain of trans hate and prejudice this CAN be the most impactful and emotional and powerful movies simply because it hits so close to home and it's so real. Please don't invalidate peoples genuine and valid feelings toward a true story based on your own bias.

Yeah I only actually seen this movie about 6 months ago, I don't really I know why as I usually follow Oscar winning movies. Absolutely love this film, I've watched it about 6 times now. Very sad story obviously but I like the way is made. Great acting, good soundtrack, also love the deep blue sky shots . Truly is a great movie. Hilary swank is brilliant but personally i couldn't take my eyes off of Chloë Sevigny! She's such a great interesting artist. She seems to have a girl next door quality. I don't know if any of you seen her in the UK series Hit and Miss? It's very good.

My heart just goes right back 2 what he did 2 Brandon & that's great acting because he made me despise him. It was all so sickening watching the way Brandon was treated. Couldn't stand that whole crew or how very sick all of those people were! I wanted Brandon 2 flee so bad before they could hurt him, but he wouldn't leave.💔😩. My wish is for a groundbreaking dramedy series, once Pose ends it's final season on FX. I wanna see a show focusing on black transgender men and how they navigate thru life and dealing with discrimination and transphobia. Im glad we are getting a bit more positive representation of transmasculine actors like Brian Michael Smith, who was on Queen Sugar on the OWN and now is one of the leading firefighters in 911 Lonestar on Fox. However, we have LONG way to go.

Thank you for sharing your video! It's sad that it takes a Hollywood movie to educate people regarding the subject of hate crimes! Brandon Teena & the other 2 victims did NOT deserve to die. Nobody has a right to take someone else's life just because they look different or choose to openly express their sexuality. People whom commit hate crimes are ignorant & cowards! I have no respect for people like Lotter whom promote hate & violence! He deserves to spend the rest of his Life in prison. The only positive from this story is that Brandon Teena to me is a hero & his story has hopefully educated many of us as to why hate crimes need to stop & the pain & suffering hate crimes create for all those involved! RIP Brandon Teena! I pray you are at Peace & in a better place in heaven! Amen 🙏

this movie was an absolute masterpiece. there's been a lot said about hilary swank's performance and the story of a transgender man killed for being who he was - and rightly so - but i think one of the lowkey reasons it's so great is also how it perfectly captures what it feels like to grow up poor and uneducated in a dead end town in a dead end corner of a flyover state. you get a little hint of that in silence of the lambs too, but this movie makes it so much clearer. that scene where they're dreaming about their life together is so laced with the sense that they both knew it was impossible. it was heartbreaking.
