Those were the yellowest eggs I've ever seen. I'm having to start over. I hatched my first batch of eggs back in March and everything went great until something killed them all. I was devastated but it was completely my fault. I hadn't secured the screen door to the outdoor run yet...lesson learned; a regular screen door will not keep out a determined animal. I started my 2nd batch of hatching eggs today...wish me luck.

I have 65 jars of Dehydrated food one each of everything and I vacuum sealer my jars after I put two packs of moisture protection in each half gallon. I then use extra jar to save up on dehydrated and when the jar gets full I dummy it into a vacuum sealer bags with two packs of moisture protection packs . It's very important not to lose all that work and food to rote. So I found them by thousand so cheap on line at Walmart.

May I make a suggestion? Put your dried milk in a blender or food processor. It will make it more of a powder and will take up way less space. That goes for eggs also. Pretty much anything liquid that you put in the freeze dried. We have eggs in our FD right now

My mother swore by both lard and bacon grease. Some many years ago now the butter in this area seemed to change so I checked out lard; it was on a bottom shelf, clear to the end, and not pulled forward. I was pleased to find it was cheaper than butter and found that I preferred it for some things. Jump foreword to current times and it is less than half the cost of butter and often about 1/3 rd the cost of butter. If you want baked good to turn golden or prefer the flavor of butter, use a 50-50 mix of butter and lard.

I planted garlic last fall but it started coming up in April and frost got it and killed it all off. It was elephant garlic and cost quite a bit. Was such a disappointment. Your lucky your able to make homemade powder milk. Been very hot here in Iowa. Started drying out my mints, lemon balm for my teas. My garden is doing great but the weeds are awful this year. I need to learn to make comfrey salve. I have comfrey. Have a great Weekend. 👍🏻

I feel like we are living in the same house right now! I have a kicking milk cow. I was only milking the quarter she wanted me to. Calf sharing. Milk started to taste a bit salty. Then sweet again. Then...full blown mastitis in the quarter I thought I was milking out good enough. Dealing with it now. So just a heads up. I am definitely no expert. This is my first milk cow. I also have a freeze dryer. Last summer I did my raw milk (whole) and this winter I reconstituted a half gallon. The fat (cream)did not reconstitute. This time I am only drying my skim.

I started using your calendula salve on my infected toe nail. It worked. My toe is no longer infected. Also I heard that calendula helps get rid of toe nail fungus. So I have add the salve to my toe nail fungus every day. I’ll let you know my progress.
