You have made us believers in growing our own food. We live in a 55+ community in Florida which doesn't have a large yard. This year we started container gardening. We picked up a bunch of buckets from Tractor Supply. This worked better for us because we weren't sure which part of the yard would be best to not get the hot afternoon sun. It's way hotter here in the afternoon! We have 12 tomatoes plants, 7 pepper plants and a raised bed full of carrots. God has really blessed are garden. We haven't planted anything other than flowers in Florida because the soil here is very sandy. But when you two said to plant "Something", we listened. The tomato plants seem to be growing at different rates so we get a few new ones daily, for the past two weeks and going strong. It also helped that we got a rain barrel for the watering. Thanks for your encouragement. We didn't want to feel overwhelmed, so started only a few things, but plan more items for fall. Thanks again! We are praying that you have an abundant harvest!
You two are such beautiful people. The smiles are always there. Your so down to earth. I think you'd be a riot having you as neighbors. God bless you hearts. And may he always be With y'all in every thing you do.
We are in western Washington, and having different weather. Plenty of rain as usual.... but very little sunshine or heat. Trying to figure out gardening in this crazy weather. We plant much later than you... planting seeds when people in the south are harvesting.
That is what's happening here in BC. Nothing really wants to come up at all. I have onions and beans so far. That's it. Other than potatoes, will have to see if they produce anything
Saw your tats! Nice!! Glad to see them better when you showed us! I got mine when I was 65!! Mine is my Cancer ribbon, a cross & a semicolon for depression/suicide. I'm a survivor after being misdiagnosed 5 1/2 years! God is good!
This heat. This drought!! Our soil here in SE Texas is as hard as a cast iron skillet. Love your farm and videos and optimism! Praying for literally ONE drop of rain!
we live in north ga and we've been 90's and over 100 degrees for over a week and next week is more of the same. We've had 3 inches of rain for the last 2 months... gardening is a struggle so far this year.
Love your new shirts. The future is bright for your family. Ask you shall receive. I get in such a great mood watching your channel. I can feel the strength and love you both have for each other😇😇
Yes, I noticed the matching tattoos and thought to myself, how did I miss seeing those before..I didn't , they're new.... I really like them and I love the stories behind peoples tattoos. I have 1 tattoo so far, an I love you in sign language which represents the love for my husband and G-daughter. Next will be my dogs pawprint, then one that represents my heritage. Good to hear all is going well for you... blessings
Got in on the deal 😀 and ordered the rosemary soap and lavender tincture. I can’t wait to receive it amongst my everyday bills and obligations - making bright spot in my day!!
I love that goal Jen! We had the wind storm here central ky and it blew my corn over my zucchini had breaks an my Russian mammoth sunflowers blew over too. All were saved but my few breaks on my zucchini. I love the tattoos, I miss my mountains but God brought us north and we get back as often as we can
I almost gave up putting in my garden this year. First off my starts just didn't want to start. Our weather on the oregon coast really sucked this spring.. cold and rainy constantly. Then I got what I could to grow. Then in May my mom's cancer came on with a vengeance. She was given 3 months in January 2020. And didn't take any treatments and made it 2 years past that.. And I spent all my time with her. And she passed away on May 27th. Then taking care of all the things that comes with that. Then not really feeling like doing anything after that. But by the time I decided to get off my butt and get er done. My raised beds and my terraced area they are in and my inground 40ft x 50 ft where we plant our melons. It was all so overgrown with 4 ft high weeds. That I almost gave up. But then I felt my mom telling me to get out there and just do it! And then I remembered Zac and Jen telling us all that just get out and get it in. Try each day to catch up and you will. So I did that. And last Thursday I got all my seeds planted in my raised beds. Got all my started melons planted in the inground bed. Wanted to put down new black plastic this year there. But I just decided to use the old black plastic for this year. And got them in. Then yesterday I weeded my planters for my tomato plants. Today I got my tomato plants that I started in early April planted! Just have to top off the planters with some more dirt. But I'm just saying, I'm so late getting everything in. But it is OK. I got it done. Even though this year was soooo hard. I did it. Thank you Zac and Jen for all the encouragement you give to all of us. Even though you don't realize it. It really can help some of us having a hard time.
It's been 98+ here for the last couple of weeks. I'm over it! No rain...nothing. I want to play in the rain so badddd. And collect some more rain water!! 🌱🌧
Feel free to pull weeds while on a VLog, that one grass by the basil.. so obvious, grab and pull! LOL I deep mulch, and does help a lot! leaves, grass, woodchips when I can find them.
Very cool tattoos! I have an owl sleeve in memory of my Grandma who loved owls. All of my tattoos have meaning. I also have a memorial tattoo for my Mom who passed. Her necklace that she bequeathed to me wrapped around a yellow rose (is significant because she threw a yellow rose on my Grandpa's coffin & I did hers as well) & an orange/yellow Maple Leaf with a mother/daughter emblem in it, because she absolutely LOVED fall and the leaves changing color. I want to quiz my Dad & find a great tattoo idea for him, & hopefully get it done before he passes. (Don't want to even think about that!)
That same not rain storm hit us too in Southwest IN. Just a little rain, and definitely not enough with this heat we have been dealing with. I have an old aluminum ladder I am using for a cucumber trellis. Thankfully my cucumbers aren't attached to it yet bc it twisted the day lights out of that ladder and blew it half way across my garden. Got it starightened out and back up. Had to redo some other things that were growing on trellises. Thankfully got that starightened back out. And it blew over all 3 of my planting towers. I am surprised I didn't lose anything.
Thanks for saying that some tomatoes fruit earlier than others. I was getting a little disappointed because several plants were not fruiting. Now I will be patient ... kind of patient. They're like my babies I go out there several times a day. I have 4 different kinds of peppers and most of them are doing well. Your gardens look great!
I love your tattoos. What a great idea. You all have the heat, we have the cold. Todays high was 56 degrees F. Tonight they say the lows will be 25. It even snowed here today for a minute. 🤦🏻♀️ summer? 🤷🏻♀️
Love the tats. I have 18 and they all having meaning about my family and life. Wish i could do more but my job requires me to cover them. Me and my hubby have a very speical matching tat.
Oh I love your new tattoos and what a honor for your love of your community to be represented. I just love you guys period. You always make me feel at home. Just plain good folks. Hard working and family loving and God fearing people. The world needs more of you guys. God is so Good .. garden looks wonderful too.
Love your tattoos! About 3 years ago I got a tattoo on my ankle of a violet in honor of my mom who’s name was Violet and passed away 5 years ago. I just turned 60 and my brothers thought I was nuts! I think my mom would love it ! Let’s do what makes us happy life is to short!
We have extreme here in Minnesota . We are having rain every few days but we ha e had over 100 for three days. Today it is only 95 because we had 2 inches of rain during the middle of the night so it felt cooler this morning but this afternoon with the heat and high humidity it is miserable. We usually only have one or two days of 100 degree temperatures in August. The last 2 years we didn't reach 100 at all. My tomatoes and peppers love it though. They are growing like weeds. They are nothing like yours though but I live in zone 3b. We can't safely plant until June first. It is getting so hot si fast my lettus bolted before I could even pick it. Such unusual weather here.
