need a tube and a handle on the inside to push and turn that door latch from the inside welded onto it
cmon Jimmy next time do Can I get a Clear Prop or Can I get a clear Elvis 😅
Hey you should try putting the tail on or is that out of the picture
And he ALWAYS painted his hair. He was as blonde as a white cow. I see an Elvis and I want him painted black. What would that mean?
Rolling backward one length is not driving by any stretch of even your imagination.
Can't wait until DMV gets a look at this beast!
“But at the courthouse, they didn’t laugh
Because to type it all up, it took the whole staff
And when they got done the title weighed 50 pounds!”
- Johnny Cash One Piece At A Time
@@Acelachaser1965 first thing that came to mind
Florida dmv won't care lol
It already has a title.
What could possibly go wrong
For safety reasons, body roll and flex and bad roads, please install a slip sleeve on your vertical steering shaft. One good bump and it could easily pull itself apart. 👍👍
Truth!
I'd more more concerned about the 1 degree angle turn per minute on that contraption. How are they going to turn that 'vehicle' in corners and intersection in traffic?
This right here. I was thinking the same.
Excellent point
Good thing it ain't your money
I see a new shirt in the future...
"None of it makes sense, but that doesn't mean is shouldn't be done."
Good one @thedirtyknobs !
you need a pair of blue suede driving shoes when piloting that beauty. Way to go Jimmy you guys nailed it!!!
This magnificent contraption is absurdly majestic and majestically absurd at the same time
Absurd is the key word.
Part of “Weird American” tourist stops
Life wouldn’t be as interesting without the “Jimmy’s” of the world. :)
really, your life is sad
Go Jimmy!!!
As an ex-trucker, its Top-heavy, watch curves it’ll roll. After rethinking that is a rolling death trap, it is way too high off center of gravity.
He might have to add weight down low, needs tested in a big parking lot to see if it wants to roll
Yeah this thing is never gonna be feasible to actually use unless he quits pretending he has the slightest clue what he’s doing and gets rid of the rv base and gets a chassis built to the shell if he’s dead set on keeping the interior the way it is and usable
It shouldn’t be driven on the road. No visibility. Not safe. Parked Airbnb or trailered to be put in a parade with spotters. Could rent a lot near Graceland to park it and pay a manager and put a hefty price per night to slowly recover investment
There is feasible ways of making this functional but this definitely isn’t it not by a long shot that will not be legally allowed to traverse any road with dot out there! Not a single chance
It's taken Jimmy a year to put the decrepit fuselage onto a old RV chassis and have it back out of the shed sheees, this thing will be lucky if its ever going to roll on the main highways! The perfect name for this project; ConAir...
The Elvis Jet RV has left the building! 🛫😊
Jimmy treading that fine between genius and insanity, just what we all need.
Best of luck to you all.
You took something that could never fly again and made something out of it to share with everyone. Awesome job
Maybe!!
Did you tell him that because he didn't know what he did?
That thing looks about as stable as my Ex-wife.
This will never make it on the road
@ChannelNotFound Your channel shows you're a gamer- have you ever left the house & actually seen a road? Do you have your licence? & if so, which heavy vehicles have you operated & maintained? Or are you just whinging ? Regards Jake
@22:31 a verse from the Jimmy bible is quoted: "I drive by faith and not by sight”. What a great day to see this moving under its own power, major milestone! Congrats Jimmy & crew.
A beautiful energy of Elvis is on this beautiful creation.❤
I thought that was THE most CRAZY idea from a FULL TIME crazy person!!!! That is why it worked!!!!! All crew ---------> You are awosome guys GREAT respect!!!!!
Hey jimmy! Just because it’s crazy doesn’t mean we don’t love it
Seeing it back out of the building was awesome. Still a lot to do, but you have taken a dream and are making it a reality. Kudos to you and Grizzly and the whole team Jimmy.
The most American thing I've ever seen. Congrats, this is incredible.
Looks wicked top heavy. You should have recessed the truck frame up into the fuselage. I doubt it's road legal the way it is.
Dropping the Body over the Frame (Channeling) would severely reduce the interior height.
I agree. I wonder how much space is actually between the cabin deck and the rest of the lower half of the fuselage. Some meat could have been cut off the bottom, allowing the whole plane to sit flatter on the chassis(obviously a new sub frame type structure would have to go in)..
And if nothing was modified from the floor up, the head room inside the cabin wouldn't change, just the whole plane would be sitting lower and closer to the chassis. Surely there is some empty / no longer needed space on the underside of the fuselage. But I'm no expert.
@@sanfranciscobay Split the frame in the middle and widen the chassis? Set the plane into the chassis like a bath tub? Keep the engine behind the rear of the fuselage? wouldve been a better option but idk how wide the plane is.
Sorry Jimmy but it looks horrible. Good idea, poor execution. It really does need to be “body dropped” lower over the chassis. If you have to cut the belly out and make wheel wells so be it. It just looks like an abomination at this point.
You remember the Concord that had the whole nose fold down during take off and landing so they could actually see the runway.
The Jimmy Jet needs the fold down nose to see the road.
Oh, my word. You did it! Jimmy. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Love it. The wife and I may very well go to Oshkosh this year just to meet you and see this thing in person.
Great going, we are happy all went well! Greetings from Sunny South Africa
I’ll definitely come and see it when it visits my town.
(Naples, FL)
The definition of a conceptual design flaw. Perfect for UA-cam.
Ghost bidders cost Jimmy a lot of money.
What is the penalty from Mecum Auctions if you are the high bidder and fail to purchase?
Jimmy well done. You see things others don't !!
Well I can tell officially it’s official, Jimmy’s Brain has left the building I shih-tzu not. Love this channel ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice Work Boys!
Don’t Give up!
Can’t wait to see finished product!!!
As someone who likes doing my own stuff other than get a professional to do it, It amazes me how some people have so much talent and ideas on the keyboard but probably they have never built a paper toy truck! Jimmy is just one amazing guy and that's why we all come here to see what he is doing not to tell him what to do.
It was a great decision. The plane was sitting, not being used.
You'll need to put a walkie talkie system in to talk to your ground crew and driver. This is so awesome!!!!
It needs to be driven from underneath the Jet - for reasons of visibility and control, not from the Cockpit.
That is one big kid with a mustache jumping up and down with joy so cool its a great feeling to see something you fabricated work as planned. Congrats Jimmy so cool as Elvis would say thank Ya thank Ya very much.😂
Love how Jimmy gets so excited like a kid 😁
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE DETERMINATION , TO UNDERTAKE SUCH A HUGE PROJECT AND SEE IT THROUGH !!! GET ER’ DONE BOYS !!!
Coolest project I’ve ever seen! Congratulations on getting it moving! Freakin Awesome!!
Absolute madness, total lunacy, bonkers... I love it😂
The KING is alive!!!! And kicking
Jimmy I love Elvis keep his spirit alive!!!!!!!!
Fantastic guys Grissly is the man.
Can't wait to see it on the road.
Much love from Australia ❤🇦🇺
Congrats to you guys. Awesome journey so far with the Elvis Jet and looking forward to seeing its new future unfold!
The mechanics of this thing ..... awesome! Work of science and art, Jimmy. You are the best! I so enjoy this channel.
You salvaged a piece of history in a way that allows the most people to see. Do a Utah Bomb Run tour to/with Diesel Brothers, Chad's Fab, Robby Layton, Fabrats, Matt's ORR, Las Vegas, Merlins and finish up in Moab at TrailMaters.
Florida Man gets into an accident driving a plane on the highway. I can see the headlines now
Just to hear and see Jimmy’s pure excitement and happiness, all worth it! 🤩🙌👍
"This is such a bad idea, I love it" 17:03
Yup Jimmy, I love it too haha
The look on the machinist face as you were giving him the 'Butta-Bing-Butta-Boom' explanation was priceless.
This is truly epic and I love it but I can only imagine how many adult situations took place in there , make sure you get it good and clean lolol 😂👍🏻🍻🇨🇦
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drive by braille jimmy drive by braille, only stop when it sounds expensive! From a viewers standpoint it’s hard to believe a year has already passed. Love what your doing with it!
Hello Jimmy and fans,👋. What could possibly go wrong 😉
I 100% support Jimmy's decision to drive the plane since it can't be flown.
It could of been flown again. They did make engines that could replace the originals. It could of been fixed
@@erickricharson5196 But why?? For one thing, it's debatable if Elvis ever flew in this thing!!
@Cougracer67 it was a point I made. Someone said it can't be flown. It technically could of flown again.
@@Cougracer67 That's what I don't get if Elvis ever flew on this jet there would have been a flight logs manafests record with Elvis's name on it, there is none, so Elvis has never flown on this jet.
Ok just some ideas. Now when you want to cover the body to frame (skirting) Use the top and bottom panels from the wings. Put the rear cone back on and insert a 360 camera in the tip for rear view. source some jet engine cowlings and use half for fenders. Make some mud flaps from runner carpet from a jet and dye it with runway pattern or taxi way pattern on them with led lights. You might have body to chassis issues ( stress cracks, bolts break, aluminum body fail ) if you don't create a cradle to match body curve and chassis frame. You created an hour glass shape and the smallest area is the weakest point Just my opinion it looks very weak, undersized for safe use. Hit me up if you want more ideas or would like some assistance. This is the Best project i am waiting every day for updates this is great. you guys are doing It . Congrats it moves!!.
That was AWESOME!!! I did my own kind of Jimmy dance when I saw you start it, and then back it out of the hanger. Kudos to you and Grizzly on a job well done. Can't wait to see the total finished product. Thanks for sharing.
Two words,Willy Wonka, crazy genious,so wrong, but right at the same time! I applaud you
Happy to see something cool happening with that old Jet. Love it !
Ditto
❤❤❤❤❤ Wow some men dream. Some men fulfilled their dreams love you, man.❤❤❤❤❤
Haha 😛 I sooo feel your excitement too. I reckon Elvis would be so stoked to see this journey. He’d luv it for sure.
No he wouldn't he'd be like what the hell is this piece of junk I'm looking at
That thing looks supper top heavy. It's a cool idea, but I fear this thing is going to hurt someone if not unalive them.
I thought the same thing when they were first mating it to the chassis, seems like shaving the entire bottom of the plane so the floor would sit directly on the frame would have helped with the center of gravity.
@johnpoteat9774 exactly. That fuselage weighs more than the rv body did as well. They should have just welded an axle from a semi trailer to it and put a 5th wheel plate, and made it a trailer. I built some stupid stuff in my life, and even I am saying oh hell no to this
Agreed it’s not if this thing takes someone out it’s when it takes someone out and sadly it’ll probably be someone innocent just driving down the road and got collected by it
I think this is a train wreck but fun to watch.
“Where no man has gone before “!
Congratulations Jimmy!
AWESOME !!!!! Great work Guys.......
This is so much better then letting it rot, or be cut up for scrap.
Very True!!
🎉you remind me of Wright brothers building the first plane 🎙🎸🎶 Its all Rock n Roll Baby
Jimmy you crack us up jumping up and down like a little kid. Congratulations on getting the Elvis plane Rv going.
Cant wait to see all the windows untaped and whole fuselage cleaned up!
Unsafe at any speed!!!
Is this actually going to be street legal?
That will be interesting to see. I would hope he looked into that beforehand. Time will tell.
I used to think this was a bad idea until I saw how many people talking crap about it. You should go all out with a bigger windshield and make it have a drivers side door that opens and closes, mirrors etc... This is definitely one of a kind. Im glad you stuck with it, Thank You for being one of the people in my life that makes life more livable, like you did with this Jet. Dont quit being yourselves, yall are inspiring others as well.
I was just reading an article not an hour ago about how no one knew what was going on with Elvis' other Jetstar, and now I know, and knowing is half the battle.
Yo Joe!
@ 5:08 JImmy.. Subliminally got The King On the brain, doing the famous Elvis kneel, He's just missing the Tassels and cape😂😂😂😂
Will DMV License it and will Insurance Insure it?
I never thought of that LOL good question😂😂
Awesome job Jimmy and crew!
Absolutely fantastic guys, that thing is mad! Congrats on the progress!
Sorry Jim, it looks a piece of junk, but I hope it works out for you.
it was a piece of junk when he bought it. now it´s a self-propelled piece of junk. if that isn´t something.
It's also only half finished. Some body fairings, a new paint job, and it'll be gorgeous.
Proud of all of you! Looking forward to the first road trip. Stay safe.
thanks for keeping it alive......🎼🎵🎶🎵
For safety reasons, body roll and flex and bad roads, please install a slip sleeve on your vertical steering shaft. One good bump and it could easily pull itself apart
Most wild "hold my beer" ride EVAR!
I still think it was an idiotic purchase
Hear hear.
How can it be a idiot purchase. He's making money from the tags, videos, sponsors, and the amount of publicity that he has gotten from the news and online is insane. People pay 250k for commercials. He's still got probably 20 videos still with this thing and each one gets him paid. Will take some time but will be making him money in the long run. So I guess you don't understand the game.
And we all think your comment is Idiotic😂
This is a horrible comment😂😂
This will join the ranks of the DC-3 RV, the AN-2 Truck and the 377 boat. Cool ideas that were probably thought insane at first.
“I drive by Faith, not by sight” ❤
Amazing Jimmy you did it can't wait to see you drive it on the road.
You should cover the chassis with a fiberglass replica of a cloud!
Good idea!
Or a plane wreck.
It's such an incredible build! I enjoy following the updates. Thank you, Jimmy, for doing this wacky build and sharing it with all of us.
This is awesome!! Great job.
I hope that someday I get to see this in person. GREAT JOB GUYS!
I enjoyed watching! I seen the first now to this! Amazing! 😊❤
You both are genious, amaizing people!!!!!
Congratulations on getting the Elvis jet moving under its own power! Amazing...
Jimmy I’ve been watching all the way through this is the day that I have been watching for.
It runs ❤ this will be awesome 😊❤
This is insane but cool!!! Can't wait to see it complete 👍👍👍
Thats just cray, cray! I love it, cheers Jimmy. Never stop believing or thinking out of the box!!!
That is soo awesome! I was born in Roswell and worked out at the airport for many years. I would drive by the Elvis plane everyday and just stare at it wondering if anything would ever be done with it. It was a bit sad when I heard it no longer sits out there anymore. On the positive side, soo happy for you and your crew, amazing job and wishing you all the best.
they’ll build it, play with it for a couple of years and throw it in the backyard where it will rot, it would be better if it stayed at the airfield, at least it wouldn’t be mutilated...
Sketchiest, craziest and yet coolest thing I’ve ever seen! Awesome job!
Congratulations 🎊 Jimmy I've been there right from the start excellent can't wait to see it drive, it will certainly attract attention lol 😂 cheers 🥂
Good job Jimmy and crew. Keep up the good work it's looking good
70% of todays population has no idea who Elvis is. I share his birthday (January 8th). I am glad you have the nads to take this on...fun project.
Awesome! Good job gentleman.
Love your enthusiasm, enjoy every minute
How can you not love this insanity? I love it!!!
I think I would cut a bit deeper so the fuselage can sit down onto the frame.
It'll be a lot of fabrication but would also be much safer and more stable.
If not that option, you'll need fairings to "blend" the fuselage into the frame and cover all of the ugly, while still dealing with the lack of stability.
It would look a lot better sitting lower as well...
