Also to add to this: There's a SAS skin for Ghost in Call of Duty Mobile called „Taskforce" it's basically the CoD4 SAS suit but with a Ghost mask, he even has a gas mask on his back.
I know this isn't real evidence becausw it's a mobile game. But exactly this mobile game takes characters and guns to make it's own thing.
the ghost taskforce skin was completely different compared to the S.A.S. skin in that mission.
• the uniform in the taskforce skin color was dark blue or navy blue
while the one in the mission was black
•the uniforms both used were different
• the vest they used were different

My take is that Soap's Journal is canon because it came packaged with Modern Warfare 3 collector's sets and Operation: Kingfish is psuedo-3rd party and the acting is fairly bad.
Op Kingfish basically retcons the fact that Price was presumed KIA in CoD4 and was in the gulag for 5 years up until the events of MW2. OG MW3 had a weird development due to different writers and development team. Due to legal disputes with IW and Activision, a lot of IW had gone by then and MW3 was basically made by newfound Sledgehammer Studios.
Funny how relatable some things are even now...
At this point I’d say Kingfish has been retconned. They’ve released several things since then that contradict it.

That's a good theory, to think that Roach and Ghost were friends long before MW2 its amazing
Charlie one-one was the guy who jumped out first with the hostage, the one who stays downstairs must be Echo one-one (K.I.A. says in the COD4 wiki), and that one staying at the exit is Romeo one-one and he could be Ghost, and this whole event was set on October 8th, 2013 and August 10th, 2016 as the MW2 events begins at August 10th, 2016 so the Mile High Club mission could be set on October 8th, 2013
It's not confirmed that any of the TF members died on that plane. They probably all jumped canonically, and it just wasn't programmed since this mission is a bonus mission. I doubt 2 of the 4 fresh new recruits are ordered to just stay on a plane and die. You don't find a Tier 1 Operator on a job posting.

At first I assumed you play as Roach and you do the mission along with Griffin and Wallcroft because they look similar but you know what, the fact Soap approved of 4 people and 4 people is what we see on this mission is enough proof for me to buy into this theory.
I agree with you, your evidence is pretty good. I'll add something and guess that the player is _not_ Roach, since; 1 - Roach and Ghost are buddies and we can hear Romeo and Charlie banter in the opening cutscene (and I don't think you'd be snarky with you CO unless you two were friends) and 2 - Roach is a Sergeant and your character seems to be the lowest ranking guy as everyone gives you an order at least once. My guess is:
Romeo 1-1 is Ghost
Charlie 1-1 is Roach
Echo 1-1 (the guy who's Killed In Action) is an anonymous soldier from Soap's list in his journal.
The Protagonist is another Anonymous soldier from Soap's journal.
I could be wrong though

You could get his journal from buying the hardened edition of MW3 from 2011, or you can search it on wiki. And the Mile High Club mission comes after the last MW1 mission.

It's a disclosed/classified operation which takes place after MW1 and before MW2, 4 TF 141 guys fight off Ultranationalists to rescue a hostage, potentially named Kriegler, from whom Al-Asad bought a nuke to kill 30k US Marines. Price didn't take part in the mission.
