I'm so glad you like the book, Jacqueline, and you're not alone. We all watch for those tell-tale signs. There are some great Facebook sites like "Perry Loves Della" and "Perry Mason Fanatics"
Oh wow, this is awesome! Love me some Perry Mason and I love that you dedicated a whole book to the show and specifically Perry and Della. Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale were meant to be together onscreen. Their chemistry felt so real and genuine and that's because they actually had such a deep friendship offscreen. Perry and Della imho were the best couple that never was.
I just received both books Remembering Perry Mason with Raymond Burr and Perry Mason, a love story. I loved them very much. Very easy read and informative. I am an avid fan of Perry Mason. The only question I have: you referenced a photo of Della giving Perry a back rub. You mentioned it came from the episode "The Case of the Sulky Girl", I recall it from "The Case of the Sleepwalker's Nice" after he got got back from Las Vegas where Lt. Tragg picked up Mason's client at the airport there. I may be wrong. Just wanted to let you know that I really loved the books and they are a great addition to my Perry Mason collection. Thank you for you insight and information.
I'm so very glad you enjoyed the books. And thank you for reminding me the back rub was in "Sleepwalker's Niece." "Sulky Girl" has the romantic scene where Perry realizes that Della has fallen asleep on the couch and goes over to gently wake her. Again, Many thanks.
Yes I agree they had great chemistry which just goes to show the affection a gay guy could/can have for a woman….not to be forgotten that she was married and Raymond often included her husband in the show
All their lines to each other were in the scripts and directed to act the way they did for the show! I really enjoy the way they played their characters. He was Gay and was a very chartable man. Giving a lot of money to charity.
True Wanda. And Perry actually proposed. But I like the relationship between Della and Perry on the TV show even better, because Barbara Hale and Raymond Burr have such chemistry.
Beautiful story. But nothing could ever seriously happen, since Barbara was happily married, and it was revealed later that Burr was gay (and in a devoted relationship for many years, which they sadly had to keep secret)
I purchased the book and its so adorable now when I watch the show i look for those tell tale signs they truly had great chemistry

Yes Kendall, they were two wonderful people and they really were very, very close.
Love this story
The books by Erle Stanley Gardener and as embodied by Mr. Burr, William Talman, Mr. Hopper, oh, my so many talented stars!
He said they all became like family, and it's true!
I enjoyed your books on Perry Mason💝💝💝💝💝💝

I am so, so thrilled you are turning their love story into a book. Congratulations! ~Lauren
Thanks Lauren. I absolutely love the way Barbara and Raymond got around Erle Stanley Gardner's attempts to ban any romance between Perry and Della!
I never knew Raymond Burr had blue eyes. This man is gorgeous and the chemistry he had with Della Street was electrifying.
Perry Mason and Della Street were meant to be together you can tell how much they care and love each other

The early books in the series had them having weekends at hotel resorts.

fact is Raymond Burr was gay. nothing very sexy was going to happen between the two.
Wasn’t she married? This is a lot of malarkey! Still love Perry Mason though!
