    This might have been your best episode yet, Dr. Lyon! Relevant topic for everyone, Dr. Zundell is not only a reputable professional but also an excellent speaker. Thank you ❤

    My impression of this guy is that he doesn't really seem to be up to date with things.
    He commented, saying something like, that he would consume Omega-3 capsules. Lol. Doesn't he know that Omega-3 or vegetable oils go rancid.
    Or, he mentioned something about obscure universities. Lol. Maybe he should go look up Thomas Seyfried, professor in the biology department, cancer is a metabolic disease.
    Talking about a balanced diet. Eating fruits and stuff. Lol.
    This guy is way to young to make any claims. He is probably off base on most of the things he is saying. He's talking about nutrition research like it's a science. Lol. If you know your statistics you know how much nonsense that this area produces.

      Have you read the studies yourself? No? Cool.

    Dr. Lyon, I think there is a great conversation to be had between you and Dr. Thomas Seyfried regarding cancer. I look forward to a future video with him as the guest.

    Did he defend seed oils? I mean of course there’s no stack of RCT’s on seed oil harms but who’s gonna fund those? Seed oils are incredibly processed, oxidized and unnatural. Of course they aren’t good for us. He should think along those lines, not dismiss them because he’s got a beef with Saladino.

    • @destro1989

      I don't think People back them. We simply don't see particularly strong evidence they are bad. Saladino cherry picks his evidence.

    Good interview but very little on how preventing or lowering the risk.

    He seems like an intelligent kid. A bit surprised he doesn’t know how rare Lynch disease is (0.3% of population in Western countries). And his dismissive attitude to potential causes of cancer is remarkable. Dr. Lyon should have asked him to explain why cancer has become so much more commonplace than one or two generations prior. Or why it varies so greatly between countries.

      Perhaps that will be in another episode! As for lynch syndrome, I can’t know everything and I’m not ashamed for not knowing.

      Probably because we have significantly better screening and awareness of cancer. Our tools are much better than 20 years ago.

    I commend him for his dedication, but little useful information. I have a feeling he lacks knowledge in current nutritional concepts.

    Much of the reason why 5 year survival is going up is because there is so much more early detection which skews the numbers. If cancer starts on day 1 and you find it on day 1000, your 5 year survival is going to be much worse than if you find it on day 2. Once you suss this out, overall survival isn't really that much better, except for a few specific cancers.
    In general I lost a lot of respect for you from this interview as you are very biased toward pro-drug and traditional therapies. High dose IV C for example has so many studies supporting it, so that alone just shows the bias. Even my friend who is a doctor who lives and dies by the RCT, did a deep dive into IV C and said there is a ton of evidence for it. And sure, people are going to die on alternate treatments. But seriously, using an anecdote of a single person? Where is the science in that? Meanwhile I have seen thousands of people stop or reverse cancer with natural approaches (especially combination approaches), and I have seen thousands of people over that time die that did only conventional treatments. I just found this whole thing to be very dismissive of natural approaches and pro-traditional approaches. To the point where you didn't even touch on all the ways combination approaches can be useful (i.e. all the studies about natural things making chemo and radiation work better with less damage to the body and better overall survival.)

    Sorry but a lot of talk with no actionable advice. Seemed that the only thing he was sure about is that alcohol and cigarettes are bad but sugar, seed oils, protein, etc, no advice for or against. Maybe it really is so complicated or science doesn't know enough yet.

    • @jaghad
      @jaghad Рік тому +1

      Go check up Thomas Seyfried, professor in biology, Boston College - cancer a metabolic disease. Avoid sugar. Glucose fuel cancer cells but so does glutamine.
      Also, don't ever consume seed oils. There are data out there showing they go rancid. The same goes for Omega-3 supplements. Eat fish, not supplements.
      Fasting seems to do wonders for people going into chemo therapy. Why? I don't know why but I think Walter Loongo talked about this, besides people that have fasted 1 or 2 days before and 1 or 2 days after chemo haven't experienced that many negative effects.

    According to Chris Masterjohn's research, high protein is protective against cancer but if you have cancer, it is harmful. Here is is again, two opposing views and us lay pepper trying to decide who to believe.

    • @dr.joezundell
      @dr.joezundell Рік тому +1

      Chris is well versed in nutritional sciences but it is not always the case that more protein can harm cancer patients. I think Chris has expressed that diverse protein sources should be consumed regarding human health alongside other foods for other nutrients beyond protein.

      I work directly with cancer patients. Most patients are cachexic elderly and sarcopenic. They need protein I can assure you. Treatment tolerance and dosage is directly linked to funcional status
