Ooooh I was wrong but I like it! I used to have several of the EVL, VL series. They're reliable as hell, well designed and good performance for a lower rpm saw. Great torque. Just heavy is all.
I agree about buying local. Yesterday I bought some Echo Red Armor oil at the local Ace HW. Very few people in there and the price was actually less than the online jungle store.
Could be a stuck ring. Try a half and half mix of sea foam and xylene to loosen it up. Bring up the piston to near but before TDC and fill up the space with the solvent until it is overflowing the spark plug hole and then screw in the plug and rock the flywheel back and forth against the hydrolock to work that solvent into the ring and ring groove. It should free up and then remove the plug and drain that solvent out the exhaust port by tipping the saw so that is the low spot and using the starting rope to turn it over a few times to clear the flooding. You should get a better compression test. And when the saw is run it will make that sea foam cloud of smoke until it warms up good and burns it off. This is a good thing to try with old engines been sitting and to free up a stuck carbon fouled ring.
If you ever host something at you place I'll make the drive.. Nice frontier.. Been thinking about trading my ranger for one but can't find one that checks the boxes for me.. Those old echos are tractors.. Lol
I have one that’s running good was my old man’s and I was surprised when I noticed it had 2 cylinders hah, but compared to my still ms 391 farm boss the stihl cuts all over it was hoping it would do better
Yes but is very easy to fix and service points, i dont think he Is the type of owner who needs electronic, i always prefer points, even on my vespas, a Little sanding every 10000 km Is not a problem, HEI tend to fail without any warning, while points give you the possibility to get home
Drop a little fuel in the cylinder and try testing it again. It's probably been sitting so long the rings are bone dry and showing a lower compression reading then it really has
Try and get it running the way it is. Compression may read low. However if it's been sitting awhile I've had it where the rings have to re seat to the cylinder. My 610 mcculloch was that way. But it has always ran good.

Two piece coil. Notorious for trouble. The rest of the saw is pretty bulletproof, except for a rear handle.
Yap I've had hard time finding the 2 piece coil for them as well . I fell like if that part is sill good then the saw run if not it for sell
Those are some of the coolest looking echos.
Sweet👍🏻 Definitely one I've never seen in person!
And not exactly what I expected for your new truck🙂
Nice side by side man love the custom box on the back
O.M.G OI'KID THAT IS A AWSOME FIND YOU THE MAN OL'FRIND!!!
Nice find! That will clean up really nice!
Cool new saw dude ! Cheers
Can't wait to see you working on that one.
Good find. Always support local when I can.
You are right, electronics and even the intake boot is hard to find.
Yes thay are
You've been picking up all kinds of saws lately, nice find man

I agree with local buying and nice find on the echo evl
I picked up a 750vl on a whim. It's an awesome saw.
niceeee. the stihl deal is back on for me. woke up to lets make this deal happen. picking it up in about a hr ms460maganum, super pumped
Very nice, I had one heavy but nice 👍
I like the idea of a horizontal class that's pretty cool
I think I see a Stihl sticker on that truck.

And I like the idea 💡 I'm a novice Lumberjack saw fest!! I'm down!
Awesome! The chainsaw from these years are indestructible!
I recommend the Echo Red Armor pre mix gas ⛽
Nice
Nice d150 I have 2 and 83 slant six 4 speed and a 92 318/747

I know that truck, that's a Ford fkn RANGER !! 🤣
I have that same saw. She pulls chain.
Damn you hardly ever see those anymore. Those were built like tanks huh?
That handle bar looks a little low on that Homie T-shirt!
Echo evl 750 is also a nice saw
A sub 70cc horizontal competition would be awesome, somewhere I could run the old 041.
Yeah, I think so too.
An 041 would be a good one!
Stilh had a twin saw to

I got one it's pulls a 22 in' bar well . Nice holding on to with long run times getting work done after you fix the plug did it start running?
I got a 440evl that Andrew Butler gave me...cool old saws...I need a piston for mine...pretty much impossible to find☹️
Awesome. I’ll re watch in a bit.
Sent you a message buddy
nice score 1st
They make a chip for those saws that gets rid of the points and and takes care of that spark problem also

@@gillespriod5509 you dont drive a chainsaw tho
@@alexstromberg7696 definetly, lol but the same things applies on It, still HEI Is a good mod for the average user who cant tinker with points
Try that compression tester on one of your good saws. I've had not but bad luck with those things! Always leaking and never accurate
Yeah nice e 👌

I use fogging oil for any engine that has been sitting for a while.
@@danielcarter7430 I just ran mine with a little heavier oil mix for awhile and now it's just 40:1 just like everything else
I have 660 evl runs 24 in bar awesome
I'll get this one going eventually. Should make for a fun saw.
I saw a 750 EVL on Ebay for 175, don't know if it's worth it. Looks new, but needs a carb. And I don't know what the jug and piston look like.
👍
What stinks is the oem rings are no longer available, however a set of caber rings are available
I was guessing Nissan in last video
horizontal mambo
echo 650
I want pop
!
🕸
Too bad it wasn't a stihl
Nice
👍
