    As someone in the high 900s elo, I love typhoons, I also love overlords. I had been naturally just *going* for this strat and found my opponents really struggling to find a good answer before they explode. I almost always pick up the 3x level 1 typhoons when presented, and instantly level their shields + buy two more for a between round increase of 100,000 HP in just shields + godlike chaff clear (equivalent to ~2.5 level 1 fortresses shields + ~2.5 vulcans of chaff clear). They pair amazingly well with stormcallers, which I almost always go for anyways. Then, a few turns after that, (usually once they commit a lot of money into ground anti-unit troops like sabertooths/scorpions, they almost never go air after the typhs come out) I go for the overlord + artillery upgrade to heavily exploit them for this. If I haven't won off that, it's nothing a jump drive redeploying 6+ overlords into the backline can't fix....

    All I see lately(much lower MMR) is typhoon/boats if it's available or vulcan/melt. Getting a little old tbh. I've started just doing weird stuff like mass fangs with worms just to try and shake people up lol. Sometimes takes people off guard.

      ​@@hyperboreankimjongun Depends on the Mode, if 1v1, hard carry techs (mech rage, armor, self repair, and usually sand storm), for FFA the meme techs i.e. underground maintenance, mini-worm production, and the enhanced strike tech (or air attack if you are going FULL larp as Paul Atradies and go sand worm only)

    I think with regards to the missiles, maybe limit missiles to 3 per turn but have an upgrade that increases the amount you can buy so that you have to invest in the capability.

      the whole game is decided in the chaff war. First line of defense is the crawler. If you focus too much on killing the crawlers, you cannot get past the typhoon barriers, if you focus too much on killing the barriers or boats, you will not clear the crawlers. And if you try to do the right thing you get fucked by the wasp spawn because you didn't build the random mustangs that are bad against every single unit the enemy has

    I feel like second game that last round level on the crawlers on the left was huge, since it meant so many more crawlers coming late and killing the mustangs and distracting the MP. I think without that he might have survived ?

      the boat is in a weird place. It's a pretty shit unit on it's own but as soon as you tech ground cannon (or range+overload) it becomes a beast. Strange design

      @@SurreyEZ How would you value flying as a trait? Seems to be super strong defensively. And in case there ever gets released an item that enables flying (i.e. jetpack) how strong would it be?

      @@CurCrysor The way i think about it is that an ability is not strong or bad. It just means it needs specific units to counter. So when you build a flying unit you can expect the enemy to build one of the couple units that counter it so you can play around it. But that's the same with every unit flying or not. The item would be super strong because there is not a unit that shoots medium air units. So like flying sledges with armor would be pretty toxic

    I think the risk with skipping chaff clear is that if you try to just use tons of missiles in the end game they may get a couple anti missiles or bubble. I've been surprised how often the anti missile device stops the 50 cost missiles.

    Is range on mustangs not better than anti-air against air units? With range mustangs can stay behind instead of driving into oil or fire or acid or whatever and you can place a shield so that the mustangs are protected.

      very board dependent. You really need the aerial spec damage sometimes. And it's sometimes good that they tank a little bit vs boats for example

      they did change a lot in the 1.0 patch. This was only like 1.5 weeks ago right? Takes a little bit of time for people to refine these strategies to a point where they are unbeatable

    In the second game at 30:55 : would it have been better to sell the Tarantula in the right corner whitch was nullified by balls instead of the Foon? Trying to inprove here ;)

      no, the tarantula keeps the crawlers away from the tower and i get the debuff faster and the typhoon does nothing in the wrong side

      Late game its more about upgrades vs promotions vs additional carry units

      As cost control spec, how much earlier to get atk/def?
      I imagine you have a good feel for all of these, but only some you can truly "calculate"/give rules for. I'd prefer a concise video on the things I can truly just learn and apply (kinda like your unit drops guide :) ) - potentially on how to compare the value of cards first?

      @@genghiswolvesI created a spreadsheet of each units ATK and DEF per $ to create a cost efficiency. This gives each unit a rough score from 30 (mustangs) to 170 (war factory)
      So this is like asking is it better to spend 800 on four mustangs or a WF? (37 vs 170)
      Or what is the value of an elite Wf or 4 mustang.2? (340 vs 74)
      Obviously this doesn’t account for any positioning, range, splash, tactics etc. it’s just a basic for evaluating economy.
      Then you could say ok I have good economy (more ATK and DEF on the board) let’s improve the targeting (range, splash)
      One thing the stats show is that melee units and giants have good stats. So meaning if you can get effectively position a rhino it has enough ATK and Def to take out practically the whole enemy army, but as a single melee unit its targeting (range) is horrible and it’s an easy target for the enemy but as an economy move it’s very strong.
      The tower updrafts gives like 15% or something? So if you had 1400 supply on the board eg 7 rhinos. Then getting the tower upgrade would add more ATK and DEF than adding a unit would. Based on that, you could get it as early as the 3rd round.

    I can never catch a livestream to ask this question. In any given round the cards aren’t that good so you would skip. But yesterday during the tournament (granted there’s pressure mistakes happen) but I saw many of times 2-3 cards are free and it’s a skip. Why?

      Making more unit is always priority to leveling. Some units don't need levels like the melting points here were only used for EMP barrage so the level doesn't matter. Some units are in a position where an enemy unit is deployed that counters it. No matter how much you level it, it will still be useless. Better to degrade the role of that unit to be just a distraction meat shield. Some units already kill all the targets he is deployed for in a certain position and a level will just make him overkill the stuff

      @@MrNushNush also a level 2 unit gives the enemy 3x as much experience as a level 1 unit. For example if a melter is upgraded to level 2 it counts as killing 3 melting points for enemy experience if they kill it. Level 3 units give 5x the XP, and so on. So if it’s dying anyways leveling it is helping your opponent. Btw this why it’s often bad to level mass produced variants of units.

      well he is playing typhoon specialist so i know he will sell the tarantula and go typhoon. I also know he will pair them with overlords because itsthe strongest strategy. So I need to answer everything here. I didn't know he was gonna go worms. So his comp is crawler typhoon overlord worm. Hacker doesnt solve crawlers, it's bad vs typhoon barriers and worm and overlord is a direct counter to hacker
