Hallo weer Phil, Dit lyk of jy nie so lank kon stilsit nie, en dat jy net terug in die Rover moes klim om die lewe te geniet. Goed om jou weer te sien. Hoop dit gaan goed met jou en Ingrid. Groete, Matteus
I stuck to the maintenance schedule regarding the lubrication oils. Every 10000km enjine oil and filter was changed. That was done seven times. The gearbox every 20000km, the transfer box, diffs, and swivel housing oil every 40000km. The wheel bearings were adjusted once. Brake pads and new brake fluid replaced once. The alternator bearing packed up so I replaced that with my spare alternator. The lift pump was also changed on the road( the old one had done over 200 000km). The clutch master cylinder was also changed as a precaution before going into Canada and Alaska. It too had done over 200 000km. The servicing of the LR was done from next to the road or in campsites or even in National Parks. The oil was collected and disposed of at suitable locations. The only time the LR got anywhere near a garage was to replace the tyres.
Great and creative footage. Thank you.
Thanks.
Great video, us TDI owners need to stick together, regards from Cape Town
Thanks, we do need to stick together. Old defenders like ours are either broken for parts or exported to the US.
Fueron echo para la aventura!!! Saludos desde Argentina.
Thanks, as you say the Land Rover is made for adventure. Saludos desde Sourh Africa.
When are you going to get that windscreen fixed Phil?
Good question, I have been threatening a few times. But hopefully not to long from now.

Dankie Matteus, ja dit is so. Om weer met die LR te kon toer is "great".
What an amazing landscape! How many videos did you create in this area, and did you go to Camp Syncro as well? Kind regards & a merry Christmas
Thanks. I have made three already but there is one more to come for this area. Yes we did camp at Camp Syncro. Christmas wishes to you.
You guys are too cool. How much maintenance has the Defender required during this multi continent treck?
