Caught your awesome show at Telluride last fall. Jason, the way you rocked at that altitude, you must have some super human lungs. Now, influenced by you and Mr. Mel Melton, I am learning to play blues harp. Thanks for sharing the techniques behind the magic and your anguish in "Broken Toy." You are an amazing talent!

Thank you so much Jason. I am a women 58 old living in Switzerland AND NO MORE ABLE TO HAVE A JOB BECAUSE OF SICKNESS but now I will realise my dream as I see I have time. One week ago I bought C D and G blues harps and since I exercize each day and look at the Net. I missed lesson for breathing now I found it by you. My mothertongue is not english so sorry for mistakes. I subscribed your lessons. Please have you any good type for me? I have not enough words to give you sincere compliments. chSt

Yep, I brought three friends. My friend really liked the "Broken Toy" song. Some of the music was a little too heavy for my girl friend but I had a good time. I'm playing guitar in a Christian band for homeless people downtown Orlando and I'm learning the harmonica right now. Thanks for all the inspiration. God bless you buddy. P.S. RJ Harman did a great job opening for you

I play guitar since I was fifteen, now that I'm almost twenty-three I felt the urge to discover new sounds and I found on a shelf an old arrow C harmonica... I tried to play it and in order to find some inspiration I searched the web for some lessons and I found this GREAT video! By the way, me and my friends really liked "Done With The Devil"! That overdriven harmonica sounds adds a more passionate mood to the songs... Cheers from Italy! Rock on, man! :-)

    Jason, hi
When my son decided to try the harp I instantly thought of you. So hopefully you'll be teaching him stuff that he'll enjoy for ever.
He's quadriplegic, so he'll be using a neck-style holder rather than his hands.
Just wanted to let you know that you're banking good karma!
    And to say thank you.

Don't worry about Jason's hair, I've known/followed him for years and it will change next week. Also if the Adam you referred to is Gussow, don't kid yourself when he let's loose, he plays a way mean harp! Just more true blues.

Hello Jason so I was thinking that if I want to go to the next level in playing the harmonica and getting the free on line lessons it has to be you ,you have a unique way of teaching and you are very good at both playing and teaching ,I started by playing the harmonica by tongue blocking and notice in 2007 2008 that I like to play single note lol but there’s so much more to learn on this little harmonica
Thanks for all your videos and all you do

    Hmmm..
Maybe you should address this, Jason.
You could be remembered as the guy
who forever changed the world of harping.
Maybe work with a manufacturer to develop
    teflon-coated cover plates.
Or Ricci snap-on cover plate covers,
    something like those iPod skins.
Or how about Ricci Lip Glide,
a sort of hybrid lip gloss/personal lubricant...

Sorry I've been busy sometimes I actually will wet the harp...but I think more or less after time you just get use to developing some kind of subconcious lubrication system...It's actually a great question becuase i'm afraid i don't really have an answer. The reeds STILL get stuck often(With Me)especially when I'm playing too hard from spit ...Playing softer and relaxing will give you just as much volume and more control less spit in the reeds and I THINK(Not Sure)more lubrication or less need

theory is used to explain music and help us understand music, not make music. if you know theory, you have a better understanding of how music works. when you have a better understanding, its easier to solo and make songs and make more complicated songs.
