SNARE ANYTHING... The Best Primitive Trap Trigger SO VERSATILE!!!

- One day I sat out in the woods whittling, because I was frustrated with the typical trap triggers... They were hard to set, needed constant modification and I kept crushing my hands trying to set them with a hairline trigger!!!
I knew there had to be a better option. This primitive trap trigger is so versatile! In this video I use it to demonstrate the Quick Release Peg in a spring snare scenario.
Check out my other video to see the same trigger setup with a deadfall trap: • ***QUICK RELEASE PEG**...
Stay tuned to see this trap in more scenarios. I have plans to demonstrate it as a windlass trap trigger, conibear trap trigger and more!!!
If you have any ideas, or would like to see this trigger used in a specific scenario, leave a a comment and I will do my best to work it out.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!
Thank you for showing and telling us how this is Done! This is the 1st time I’ve seen this kind of trap!
Very good idea
Love the trap videos keep them coming
Great snare video. Very thoroughly explained. I will have to try this on my next free weekend.
Another great trap video
More thankes
Great video....snares are good backup when all else fails....cheers Fred
I’ve been looking into trapping and snares, lots of small game in our area and back at my bushcraft basecamp. I will have to give this a shot after watching the video a few more times.
Great video !
very clever! great design of trap , nice one
Its a trap!!!
Sandy squirrel is gonna be in for a rude awakening lol
Thanks for the step by step man, keep the critter catchers coming!!
What a awsome trap! Looks like we have alot to learn from you!
Nice trap.
I saw Canterberry use this same "toggle"--that You say you invented. Canterberry says he got it from Ron Hood.
Fantastic I'm going have ago thanks for sharing atb
I am a first time viewer and subscriber
I am in the desert and I like that deadfall weight spring trap
Please show how to make those quick release pegs
Thank you
I need to get a book on how to tie different knots.
Any videos using it as an automatic fishing device?
What about snow and rain or frozen woods will it work
Please show me how to make those quick release pegs
Thank you
Like the idea of using a deadfall weight instead of a bent tree limb, etc. A weight is more versatile and can be set anywhere. On this particular snare, it's not necessary to have the notches is it? Will the trigger work without having notches cut into it?
One notch catches the large loop attached to the weight, the other notch in the middle is keeping the knot secure to the tree trunk.
The Y knot seems a little complicated to me. Could you tie a two loop 8 on a bite and have it still work the same?
Till some woke commie knot council says different cuz squirrels lives matter of factly alienate peanut butter bait C cups .
Have you configured it for fishing? To set an unattended fishing line.
I have it diagrammed out in my notebook… But have not had time to post a video on it yet. Hopefully will get to that this summer!
Can you provide a drawing and measurement for quick release peg
Hey Jeff… Thanks for watching. I’ve got a few other videos with this trigger in different applications. It’s essentially just a stick with two opposing notches. There isn’t necessarily a specific size. I’ve used small ones and big ones. Someone else sent me an email a while back asking the same question… I got busy and forgot to respond.
i keep forgetting how to do that stuff
Live I. NOrtheast in pa western pa near pittsburgh
Pa . Have a hard time believing it won't work ouy
Whatever you use to record with has a low volume output, at least so on my not-so-smartphone. Take care, "God Bless", sincerely -
Would you consider snares primitive trapping?
I don't understand the dead fall in the dead fall video.
How do get the critter to go through the snare?
Hi, un-baited snares are set on well travelled trails that the prey animals are using and are nondirectional as they work both ways.
Have you caught anything with this trap.
No... powered snares are illegal here. This was just for demonstration. I have no doubt it would work though.
clove hitch the rock
Interesting, but complicated. Kinda lost me half way thru
You didn't invent that---🙄🤔
I watch a LOAD of videos about traps and snares. And I saw Canterberry use this same "toggle"--that You say you invented. Canterberry says he got it from Ron Hood. Canterbury is known for "embellishing " his knowledge about wilderness survival. Nobody respects a liar.
Thanks… I'll have to check those out. I was just spending some time in the woods trying to figure out a new trigger mechanism. I guess nothing you ever do is original :-) but I was pretty proud of myself for figuring it out.
Don't understand this at all
