No useless talk or cringy edits, just pure knowledge and lecture. Thank you!
Came here from goblin slayer. Leaving satisfied and inspired for more simple yet effective traps. Thank you
I like how you do a quick demo 1st as makes it easier to understand the build process. Cheers Mary
A lot of the traps I practice come from no more than hand draw scribbles, but when I do watch other peeps videos, I normally watch the end trap then rewind it.
Thanks
Andy
Hey man you do a great job with the videos. Keep up the great work. I have definitely got to try this when I hit the woods next time. God Bless. Chase
Thanks for the kind words Chase. It's muchly appreciated brother.
You to, take care.
Andy
Good one! But if you want to catch four legged animals the vertical design is more effective!
Awesome trap mate useful
Great looking trap.
Good stuff man
Well done mate, it sort of throws a shock into me when it is sprung.
find it very interesting so I subscribed
Awesome video... I have seen this trap only in diagrams but not actually constructed... Thank you!!
Your welcome Rob, thanks for watching.
Yeah, I seen this trap in an old trapping book iv got. It was just a hand drawn picture. Needed a bit of tweekin from the original diagram, but it works well. The only other spring spear trap videos iv seen are a sapling binded to a tree, bent up & when triggered, it slaps down.
Cheers
Andy
Awesome demo my friend thanks for sharing. And by the way
the mi woodsman sent me by and I have subscribed to your channel.
Massachusetts Prepper Thanks pal
Very kind of John (mi woodsman) for the shout out.
Nice and easy. Great trap and great video
4 directions bushcraft
Cheers bro, defiantly one worth knowing. For self defence as-well as getting ya dinner :)
Than for helping me on my English class
Why'd you make this trap?
...
Goblins.
It's a booby trap!... For humans!!
The worlds society's are being collapsed over the common cold!
This trap will come in useful very soon!!
@@ClanGunnBushcraft It's a goblin slayer reference, an anime which uses these kind of traps
Commonly called the whip , fire 🔥 hardening the tip can help , which adds a dark 🌑🕶️ color to your spikes. it also can be used with hornet nests to activate hornets for area defense
Thanks for the video i now have a way to modify it much more deadly and more accurate to land on the prey
never seen this one. gonna try it...keep up the good work bro..
+Ernie Gonzalez
Thanks Ernie.
Let me know how it goes, and take care brotha.

Great videos. For more powerful trap just use a thicker tree or combine 2 or 3 branches together. Thanks for your videos.
Great trap. Simple to set up. Thanks
Cheers Dalton.
Yeah really easy trap to set up. I wish I'd shown a few different spikes... Glass, a knife, arrow heads etc.
Thanks buddy... Subbed :)
Andy
+Clan Gunn Bushcraft this may sound silly but im from the UK is it ok to snare and is it ok to set traps if you're not gonna eat the food?
+remy thomas
It's not against any statute rules to snare and trap critters in the UK. Sure like most country's, there's a bunch of rules and regulations to follow. Best for you to reserch it yourself, and gather the details, but hears a few examples...
If you own land, and there's Rabbits on it? it's illegal not to deal with them, and the best way to remove them is by snaring.
Self locking snares are illegal. You've got to use what's classed as a free running snares. There supposed to slacken when the animal stops struggling (most of the time they don't)
Self locking become tighter.
You can't used razor wire, cause any unnecessary suffering and have to check your snares daily.
Animals you can't trap in the UK...
Any domesticated animal, Wild Cats, Deer, Hedgehogs, Red Squirrel, Badger, and Otters. Probably more, so check it out for yourself.
Most peeps trap and snare for pest control, so most don't eat them. It's your business what you do with it after.
I only hunt and trap on private grounds. Not sure about the rules of trapping on public ground.
My next camp videos guna be a trapping video aswel. Plus iv recently taken on two new pesting jobs. 200 acres of woodland to clear of Squirrels, so plenty of trappin vids coming up.
Cheers
Andy
Good
I was always curious about the specifics of these traps as seen in movies and Vietnam war documentaries
Yeah, it's probably what attracted me to them as well.
I remember going to the woods as a kid and recreating traps from movies like Rambo and Predator. Just to understand how they went together.
Traps like these are still used by a few tribes around the world to spear pigs mainly, but I think they have been mainly use as human traps over the years.
Thanks for watching buddy
I grew up in rural Wisconsin and the toy gun collection was the pride of all the 9-13 year old boys in our neighborhood
Which also led to most of us joining the military and unilaterally hating it
What does tapering mean
great demo ,great info

Clan Gunn Bushcraft Very cool my friend. I'm of the Gunn clan as well here in the states. As you can see from my name it is German. Buy my grandmother's side comes through the Gunn clan. I will sub on my bushcraft channel. (Indiana Bushcraft Woodsman) Peace my friend, Kevin
Kevin J. Stoll That's awesome Brotha.
Clan Gunn's made up of 78 separate clans united. My original clan's name & still is Gallie, do you know yours??
Iv got a lot of records & details about most of the clans, might have a few story's about your direct ancestors?
This years clan gathering is in our homeland... Caithness, Scotland.
I'm goin up there on the 20th July with my boy, after the gathering we'll wild camp in the area for 2-3 nights. Maybe a night amongst the ruins of one of our old castles. We've been looking forward to it for ages, i'll make a video of the trip.
Cheers & iv subbed to your Bushcraft channel
Andy
Andy, I'm of the Robinson clann. Any thing you have on them would be great. I have a handwritten family tree I need to dig out. That's so cool you and your son are going up there. I have always wanted to go back to the home country and see if I could find any ancestors. I look forward to seeing that video. Peace to you cousin, Kevin
Kevin J. Stoll
The Robinson's were a massive warrior clan even before the Gunns.
But back then you were called the Robson clan. A lot of Scots changed the spellings of their names back then, yours went Robson, Robeson, Robison then Robinson.
Our clan owns three castles (now just ruins) and in 1537 your family moved into Clyth castle which is in Wick, Caithness.
Must of been a big family as it was only you guys that lived there! My son & I were trying to decide which castle to camp at, it has to be Clyth now!! I'll take my metal detector n see if I can find oat??
Plus it was your family that started the 500 year long war with clan Keith, it only ended in 1978 :)
If I seen a Keith today... Id still kick his teeth in!! lolhaha
Iv got another reference to your family, ill post it above ^^^
This looks like the one used on a man in 'apocalypto'.
Very nice bud, is way better then the one that survivorman (Les Stroud) did. Did you ever see Ray Mears one? More accurate and more deadly using 30 to 40 foot spring stick, guided on a wooden reel (rale/post?) for deadly accuracy and powerfullness. .
Thanks buddy.
No, iv not seen Les's or Mears's version of this trap. I'll check it out mate. Rays defo one of my faves.
Cheers
Andy
Won't let me reply to your comments on my snare video. UA-cam's messengers been playing up for me recently. loosing comments.
I'm in Scotland mate. I know your in the states, but I'm not sure where VT is.
Cheers

Same here, one of my faves also, Ray is real knowledgeable.
I wish that I am in America
If I had to last resort I would but it's very deadly trap indeed
Good video with one exception; when you move away from the camera, you're extremely difficult to hear.
Cheers brotha.
Yeah, this was a very early video of mine.
My more recent videos are better, but still, I'm in a serious need of an equipment upgrade. Check out the new trap video I posted today if you get chance.
Thanks for watching
First blood
Yeah, you know it bro, but I've gota plug it as an animal trap or UA-cam will take it down. All my death traps are boobytraps lol.
Take care and thanks for watching
whoever gave him a thumbs down is not human

Brilliant demonstration bro, and very informative.
I lived in Indonesia for two years, and they still use these very traps to kill pigs.
Very effective!!
Thanks

Beautiful country, where people are still living the way nature intended us to.
Thanks
