Hi Rhapsodie!!!! One of my favorites is Call Me By Your Name. The writing is beautiful and the bittersweet ending adds a layer pf longing for the book.
@@xinmeijuli4191 Hi xinmeijuli !!!! Thanks for the suggestion 🧡 I’ll definitely be searching the library for it. Books with bittersweet ending tend to leave a mark on me too. I’m excited to see why it means so much to you :D
Hello and welcome to booktube!! 💕💕 hi I’m Steph! And some of my fav books, Dark matter The great alone A man called ove Divine rivals I tried to give you a variety of genres!!
Hi Steph !! Thanks for the warm welcome and the recs. I'm loving it here already! 🧡🧡 I've seen A man called Ove in Indigo a few times before And I think I have seen Alexa Raye and Sarah Carrolli gush about Divine Rivals so I'm looking forward to that one too. I'm Definitely adding these to my library trip tomorrow/ audible 😌but do know I've decided I'm starting with A man called Ove hahaha Try - Lady Tan's Circle of Women (I could not put it down)
Enjoyed this video so much! Had to subscribe! Love the name! Very beautiful and poetic ✨ I have almost the entire Anne of Green Gables series and I need to read it soon! Hurricane Summer sounds so interesting. If you ever have any psychology book recs I’d love to hear some! What’s Canada like? I’ve always wanted to visit 🥰
Hey Girl! I read your comment at 2 am and got teary eyed 🥲thank you for taking the time out to say all this and for subscribing 💞I'm so glad you love the channel name ! Trust me, just start even if you're on the toilet or on the bus - Anne of Green Gables book is just - its magical, one of those books that remind you to stop and notice. As for psych book recs, I strongly suggest : 1. "Women who love too much: When you keep hoping he'll change" by: Robin Norwood.(helpful even if you aren't into men, it still applies) ~ I know the title sounds iffy but trust me, it could help you understand and recognize patterns that you may have in relationships or spot them when they are happening as well as feeling seen in a validating way. vulnerable read 2. "The Mountain is you" by Brianna Wiest ~ A book that reminds you how powerful and destructive your own beliefs are and how to Overcome the mountain that is you; the you who self-sabotages 3. "Death, Society, and Humane experience" by Robert Kaustenbaum and Christopher Moreman" (textbook)- Especially the chapter on death in the world of childhood 4. "Unfu*ck yourself by Gary Bishop" ~ A wake up call if you need one, uses psychological principles without getting too wrapped up in the terminologies. He gets straight to the point
Continued It's nice hearing that you'd love to visit! What country are you from? Canada has people who are very polite and friendly, they usually offer a smile if your eyes meet. Downside is I think sometimes it can come off a bit robotic. Its a beautiful country, some areas more than others and it feels safe, the city I live in is very peaceful. What I don't like is that it sometimes feels like a lonely country because neighbors aren't as chatty with each other and people tend to keep to themselves. I'm from a community based society (Jamaica) so I noticed the difference pretty quickly, Canada is a very individualistic society. Canadians complain about prices quite often, things are expensive. we have some stunning attractions as well 😊 I really hope this helped show possible good and bad sides of Canada
@@-rhapsodypenprose awww I’m so glad the comment brought you joy! 💕 thanks for the book recs! I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of all of them except #3. I’m screenshotting this to check out later! And yes I will be reading Anne of Green Gables first because I hear there are some good tv adaptations too that I want to watch. 😅 I know for sure that I read the very first book when I was young but I barely remember it. Now I have all of the physical copies except 6 and 8. I live in the United States so I probably know all about the robotic people because depending where you live Americans can definitely be standoffish too 😂 Canada sounds beautiful and more peaceful though from what I hear. I understand where you’re coming from with Caribbean culture because my background is Dominican and my husband is Guyanese. I know Jamaicans are similar with being more friendly and outgoing since our cultures are indeed more collectivist. I saved Hurricane Summer by the way! I read the description and was like oooh this is a good book! Plan on getting a physical book soon. 🤗
@@ThatGrl2006 It really did💕and no problem ! yeah they're pretty popular , I'll say an additional testament to how good they are :P I'm glad you plan to check out #3 , remember its a textbook though. I watched the Anne of Green Gables on Netflix soooo good. I was mad when they stopped at season 4. I haven't seen the other films though so let me know your thoughts when you do :) That's such a nice collection to have, I'm feeling inspired lol- added to my long list haha. If you have a rec for me feel free to send, I'm open to any genre Gosh the standoffish Americans huh 😂I can only imagine ,at least either way we'd be accustomed to them 😅 Yeah Canada is pretty serious about litter. Not much garbage laying around in many areas so that's part of the charm too. I was a little too happy when you said you're from Dominica lol. So happy to know I have Caribbean friends on here, congrats on finding your husband btw🧡and see? we get it, big difference with community approach and values. *Gasp* Did you?! my heart- Excited for you to get the physical copy 🤗
