Vincent in Wonderland sounds right up my alley. It's now on my TBR. And Welcome to book tube and to reading more! I too homeschooled my kids who are all grown now, so good on you for that, it's the healthiest environment for kids imo. I love that you're a late starter to reading, you'll bring a fresh new perspective that I look forward to hearing about. And don't worry about speed. I'm still a slow reader even after decades, but enjoyment is the whole point.
I definitely enjoyed it and I got to meet the author at a homeschool convention this year and she was super nice. Thank you for the welcome, and yes homeschooling is the way, our son has ADHD and is Dyslexic so it for sure helps.
Hi Rowdy. Welcome to the fabulous BookTube community. Hope you love it as much as I do. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you. Have lots of fun here. It’s a great place 😊to
Hey man, welcome to the community! It's always good to see another fellow book lover! Being a truck driver seems like the perfect job for listening to audiobooks.
Welcome to Booktube! I am so glad that you are joining this community and you are going to find that there are a lot of people that share your common interests in reading. There are definitely Booktubers that you are going to find that are interested in both science fiction and fantasy. It is quite different to have someone from your background, but I think you will add a valuable voice and perspective to this community and I am looking forward to seeing what you have in store. All the best! -Josh
Wow! Thank you so much, I'm very nervous and excited for what's to come. I see that you have a channel as well, it looks really good, and I will be subscribing to it.
@RowdyPlayer1 Hahaha nah people are pretty nice overhaul in the booktube community. You may get a jerk once in a while who just wants to be a turd but overall it's very positive! You are a cool dude and very authentic, you are going to have a blast!
Hi, Rowdy! I'm looking forward to hearing about all bookish things you want to share with us. From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard. We're so glad to have you here!
I look forward to hearing more. Great video! Some suggestions i have is The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings if you haven't read them already, (Fantasy) Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein (Sci-FI) One of my favorites. I second Lonesome Dove which has been recommended to me but I have yet to read myself.
I watched the movie when I was young and remember it being good but it’s been so long that I don’t remember anything about it. I’m sure the book is better though
@@RowdyPlayer1 the TV miniseries is an extremely faithful adaptation of the book. It's a great miniseries. However, the book has much more material in it than the miniseries. There is only so much you can put into an adaptation. True Grit by Charles Portis is another really great book. It's much shorter than Lonesome Dove. There are 2 movie adaptations of that one: the John Wayne version and the Jeff Bridges version. Happy reading!
@@dustinneely I will definitely put true grit on my tbr. I remember seeing the trailer for true grit I couple of years ago I thing. I like Jeff bridges as an actor so I will have to watch that one. Thanks for the recommendation
@@Majesticon it was Vincent in Wonderland. Honestly, it was laying around the house and we had picked it up the year before and the author had signed it so I thought I would give it a try.
@@RowdyPlayer1 ah yes, i see you answered that in the video! that's awesome man. for me it was 1984! i had read Animal Farm in highschool, loved it, but felt 1984 might not be as "fun". I was definitely right but man i'm glad i read that book.

Congrats on your new channel!
I agree I enjoy how different and in depth a book feels compared to a movie.
Totally agree
